Working as a Chef, I've cooked with actual baby carrots, there was a huge trend back in the 80s for them as well as actual baby zucchini and patty pan squash. On the other end of the size spectrum, I miss the HUGE carrots that are sold to restaurants, about twice the size as grocery store carrots.
@blandrooker6541
Are they the huge Chinese Carrots? They are a deeper Orange as well. I really didn't find a taste difference in them!! It's More mind over matter and l don't eat many Carrots! So it don't matter!!
@@aliciamangar1513 No, carrots are sorted by size for different markets by wholesalers. Smaller carrots are sorted for home use/supermarkets, in a commercial kitchen, we don't have time to waste with small carrots, so large carrots are sorted out by the wholesalers for use in commercial kitchens. You can peel 3 dozen small carrots or half a dozen large carrots in half the time and have more to use faster.
@blandrooker6541 not where lm from they don't wehave different laws! I already said l don't care! I've never seen a Blind Rabbit with bad eyesight!!! LMHHHOO!@ l don't like carrots only the Coloured supposed to be Organic ones! I find the over ise Carrots to fill in for when they can't find better VEGGIES. MORE HEALTHY!!
@@aliciamangar1513 Oh, OK. You do know that regardless of color, they're all the same, right? And that rabbits don't actually eat carrots in the wild except in cartoons, right?
I love baby carrots ❤thanks for sharing ❤ much love from Canada
In other words, carrots a great no matter what the form.
Wrong ppl give carrots out at stores like candy! Never seen a Blind rabbit??
@@aliciamangar1513 What does a blind rabbit have to do with anything? Unlike your famous cartoons rabbits don't eat carrots and although they are fine if rarely eaten, they are bad to give to them in mass.
@Phoenix-Cloud lve no Idea what your talking about! I've never seen a Blind Rabbit from eating too many carrots. I grew up with lots of Adult and many baby rabbits and they loved lots of Carrots. None were Blind!! LMAO
Just FOCUS!! Pls!!
Carrots are so great I love them very much! 🥕 🥕 🥕
The culls were thrown out or sold to feed lots. Nowadays the leftovers are turned into juice among other things, almost zero waste. My neighbor growing up invented and coined the term “baby carrot”.
Watching one right now.

I actually prefer my baby carrots to turn white. It gives them a much harder crunch.
lady w/ the carrot top picking carrots, nice. i use baby carrots in my soups because they're small, peeled and ready to go 🥕🥕
Dumb ass they are soaked in Chlorine to clean them....a Nice cup of Bleach bad for internal body parts.n

Pretty sure all the french onion dip i scoop up with carrots cancels out any health benefits!
Why think twice?
Deceptive title

@@USARAY1947Think twice before buying potato chips, Thin slices of potatoes don't grow from the soil
Impordent, 😂😂😂
Can you not spell? What you wrote doesn't make sense!! FOCUS!!
wild rabbits and horses will not eat - baby carrots
Rabbits don't eat normal carrots either, not sure about horses. Cartoons are the reason people started giving carrots to rabbits and it isn't good for them although a few rarely given to them is fine.
The annoying thing about carrots is not how some of them look, but, rather, the fact that they all need to be scraped and not just washed. That was the only reason that I ever bought baby carrots.
But now that supermarkets package sliced carrots, there is no longer any need for baby carrots.
To be fair, you have to prepare most produce by way of washing, peeling, chopping, etc. lol
@@icezebra - I don't think that that's true of most produce. I eat mainly raw vegetables, and usually the only preparation necessary is washing. This is true of broccoli, spinach, celery, peppers, tomatoes, and cucumbers. Onions require peeling; but doing that is far less difficult than scraping carrots. For this reason, when I buy carrots, I buy them pre-sliced or else I buy baby carrots, so that all I need to do is wash them, just like other vegetables.
@@FerdinandCesarano Fair is fair, I'm not judging you based on your diet. If you eat your tomatoes like apples and cucumbers like bananas all whole and such, more power to you. But the large majority of people don't, and take the time to prep their vegetables. Carrots are no different in prep difficulty or time in this regard. I only bring this up because you made it seem like it was a general annoyance, and not specific to someone who just eats whole vegetables raw and unprepped.
@@icezebra - I realise that most people don't make raw vegetables the core of their diet, as I do. But I won't believe that people, when they do eat the vegetables I mentioned as sides, are doing more than washing them. Surely you're not claiming that people peel tomatoes or peppers or cucumbers.
Of course many people cook their vegetables in some way; that's the step that I skip, jumping right to the eating. But the important point is that, before either being cooked or being eaten raw, most vegetables require only washing. Whereas, carrots require a whole lot more work (as do potatoes, which are rarely eaten raw).
@@FerdinandCesarano Bro are you serious? Are you this dense? People are DEFINITLY doing more than just washing vegetables when used as sides. You don't eat whole heads of broccoli, you tear or chop them. You don't eat whole tomatoes, you cut them up in some way. Same with peppers and cucumbers, come on man you can't be serious lmfao.
I'll agree on the potatoes, they are similar in the regard although carrots are much better to eat raw. Brother, a carrot takes just 10 seconds to peel with a vegetable peeler (and is far more eco friendly if you're into that)
eating carrots *everyday* makes teeth stronger and increases jaw bone density without the danger of damaging teeth
They are disgusting and always smell like mold (the milled ones in bags)
Yeah; that nasty "dirt cellar" smell. Icky-poo-dahs.
I came to this video because I typed in why do grocery store baby carrots smell and taste moldy. Your comment is the only thing I could find on RUclips or the internet that confirms what I am experiencing.
Agreed - I can't remember the last time I was able to find baby carrots that didn't smell like mold. They are nasty. It's a shame - they are so convenient.
