  • This is the demo version of “when love and hate collide” It was originally to be released on the “Adrenalize” Album, but due to unknown reasons it was delayed, and then rewritten. It was one of the last songs Steve worked on;and was the last guitar solo he wrote before his passing.

I never realized he this was his last solo. I had always thought this demo version was so much better than the finished one. It captured such a real and emotional performance.

Hes the reason why i want to pursue guitar as a career. Hes my favorite, and possibly always will be. He simply makes me feel a way no other guitarist ive ever heard has before. He had alot more to say before he passed. I just wish we could hear it

Big loss. RIP Steve. I remember reading the headlines that morning from the NCO's mess at a British Naval base. Gutted!

It was left off cause the band preferred Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad, and I believe Phil mentions in his All About Steve interview that was one of the songs they were jamming to before he passed.

Typical Elliot. I remember seeing Savage say after Viv joined the band verbatim "I look over to my right and it's as if nothing has changed". Sav is a cunt. He has never given the credit to the genius who even Viv has said "90% of what we play Steve left us". Facts - Leppard have achieved nothing successful record wise after their genius, their primary song writer, and master of creating epic harmonies, melodies, hooks, bends and his iconic riffing. That's context.

Best version of this song. Steve was the sound of Def Leppard.
