    The placement of the buildings looks great. I agree I like them on an angle adds more interest. Also i like the roof in that building it’s different and adds another level of interesting details in my opinion. Just my two sense Mike….. thanks. Joe

    Hey Mike. How did you build your scrap yard? Is it a kit and do you have an old video on that ? Thanks and cheers 🍻. Always get something out of your updates.

      I did build the scrap yard and just acumulated all the scrap piles and cars I could , wherever I could and got some from Ebay.

    Dear Mike, cool to see the new config of the engine facility in progress. Agreed on the hipped roof on the engine house, such a roof only makes sense when such a structure is in a cramped space, surrounded by other buildings and larger structures. This kind of location indeed demands a more flat roof structure possibly with skylights.
    Humbly think you’ll need to put in some more road lines to accommodate the possible traffic towards the different parts of the present facilities. Still think a connection to the city might be possible at the dead end road, at the left end side of the town’s main street. Curious for the next episode! Cheerio

    Hi Mike, getting ready to start a new layout. I'm struggling about whether I should use all Peco code 55 or Kato Uni-Track. I see you are using both. What would you recommend for me? Why are you using both?

    • @N-Scale
      @N-Scale  3 месяца назад

      I use Unitrak because it is fast. I use the peco to get the buildings down to ground level. I love the layout I had that was all Peco 55 though.

    Hi Mike, did I miss something in one of you episodes about why you started using Peco track instead of all Koto, is it hard to convert from Koto to Peco, as far as the built in plastic ballast?
    In N scale does the code really matter that much?
    Either way what you’re doing is gonna look great. Ron

      The Code 55 Peco is actually Cd80 tall but all but 55 is buried in the ties. Yes 55 and 80 are thousandths of an inch and YES it matters when connecting SOME brands. I am using Peco in SOME areas to lower the track to the building heights.
      Thanks , Mike

    Hi Mike, you are on the right way. Definitely the new mountain was a very good idea, as it hides the tracks behind. And all looks more realistic. Looking forward to your next update!

    Hey Mike, I like the new arrangement of the buildings. You were right about having them at an angle instead of straight off the end of the yard. It's gonna look great. I also agree with you on the car shop roof. A flat roof with skylights will look better.

    Hey Mike...I am plotting out the yard tracks on my layout and would like to know what track spacing you use in the yard and the mainline. I am figuring 1 1/4" spacing for both, but I know NTRAK uses 1 1/2" spacing. Thanks for your help! Marc

      Well , A lot of missing info here , but I use all #6 Kato and am not sure what that dimention is.

    Mike, why did you stop using Unitrack?

    • @N-Scale
      @N-Scale  3 месяца назад

      I did not stop using it but the Peco makes it much easier to place buildings at track level.

    Great progress on your layout. I’m working on preparing to scratch build pedestrian foot bridges for my layout and also in the process I’m using the cut off ends from pancake & sausage breakfast sticks will become the tiles for the roof of my planned passenger train station & covered walkways on my planned passenger train station scratch build.
