    Really is such a sad story 😭

    My theory is that he used blood bending to cut off the chi/qi flow of the bender located at the base of the head. Remember bending is about unlocking your chalkras and using the energy to access your flow of power to manipulate the elements. When aang was learning to unlock his chalkras with guru patik at the air temple while the others were in Ba Sing Se he locked his last chalkra because he could not let go of Katara thus couldn’t access the avatar state or the full extend of his power.
    From this my theory is derived, amon is using this understanding when he blood bends. I think he is cutting off the benders connection to their chalkra or chi/qi so they cannot access their element permanently by blocking the flow of energy in their body/circulation. This it is not temporary like chi blocking which is exploiting the sensitivity of pressure points used to momentarily incapacitate someone and briefly cut off their elemental connection. No bender has ever been able to demonstrate a resistance or use of their element in the slightest after Amon takes it away unlike chi blocking. Also because he is such a powerful bender and an exceptional blood bender he was able to easily deflect his brothers blood bender assault. He is a psychic blood bender much stronger than his father and thus uses it intricately to defector and control other benders movements so they cannot aim correctly thus never landing a single hit on him. He is untouchable and in full control of not only his bodily energy but as well as his element of water/blood bending. What an incredible power set, intimidating villain and tragic back story.

      Yep, this is precisely how Katara then later the creators explained how bloodbending can sever people's connection to their bending.

    To me, this episode proves that any bender can learn any bending technique.
    Sure, Amon/Nohtok was a “prodigy” but that doesn’t mean Tarrlock couldn’t have also learned psychic bloodbending.
    The reason that family was able to bloodbend without the full moon was because they trained. The full moon was literally their training wheels.
    If you guys were waterbenders, would you learn bloodbending?

      If you ask the entire chat, I shall answer. I would love to, I would use it? I don't know. But it's good to know it.
      Hear me out. I've always praised Hama. Maybe it's an unpopular opinion, but as she said: "When you're a waterbender in a strange land, you do what you must to survive.", she did what she thought it's needed to survive in fire nation. I'm not saying taking her anger out on the civilians was the right move, but in the end, let's not forget that "hurt people hurt people" and she wasn't a villain from the start, she wasn't born a villain, she became one because of the war.

      Never. To me bloodbending is like rape. I could never imagine doing that to anyone. It's such a violation and fundamentally just like using dark magic. There's a reason why Katara outlawed the use of it.

    • @ritster21

      @@kmjkmjkmj I agree with Yakone on one point. Katara is a coward for outlawing it.

      @@ritster21Katara knew that bloodbending is the ultimate violation of a human. It's like using rape to destroy civilians in war. It helps you win a war but it's still a warcrime. Are soldiers cowards when they don't rape? Just because you can do something, it doesn't mean you should. I find it puzzling that anyone can watch Avatar and not understand that bloodbending should never be used.

    I think you guys were pretty spot on about Amon and the “pressure point” thing. I’m not sure if it was officially explained anywhere, but I do think it’s basically a more extreme form of chi blocking, or physically blocking a chakra. we’ve seen aang’s chakra being affected via outside force (azula’s lightning, the rock he hit vs. ozai) so I think it makes sense

    • @Reactsandgames
      @Reactsandgames  2 месяца назад +2

      Yeah I think so. It wasn’t as grand as when Aang did it so maybe it’s a quick, possibly none fully permanent version of taking away bending.

    • @staserstaa1969
      @staserstaa1969 2 месяца назад

      it’s actually a combination of chi blocking and blood bending. Chi blocking is temporary but by using blood bending Amon is able to manipulate the chi into locking permanently.

    Amon/Noatak is definitively OP. He mastered the ultimate form of Bloodbending(like his father): Psychic Bloodbending!
    He can take people's bending permanently by blocking their chi, like the chiblockers, but it's a grib he does with his Bloodbending so it's stronger.

    Excellent reaction/discussion. Just as speculation but Amon/Nohtok is so powerful, enough to take away someone's bending (I assume permanently), I'd imagine that it would take someone as powerful or even more powerful to restore it.
