Another quick scoot. This time we head from Basildon Town Centre, up the mud hill at Kingswood and through Barstable West. Filmed using A GoPro Hero8 in June 2020
Thanks for posting this. Basildon has changed, especially the town centre. Where Iceland was there used to be the market stalls to the front. Remember the kingswood estate used to be open land. The "Birds" estate on the opposite side of clayhill road was there but otherwise plenty of open ground with the golf course further up the hill. That may have gone now though and been developed. Good views around Clicket End area as you went on to Long Riding. The old pub looks as though converted. There used to be another pub at the end on junction with Timberlog Lane, the Commodore that wasn't bad I recall.
Thanks for your comment. Basildon has changed an awful lot over the years, especially in the fifty years I've been here. And it's going to change a whole lot more with various developments happening all around the town including a major revamp of the town centre itself including high rise blocks that make Brooke House seem tiny. I've got lots of other videos from around the area which should be put up every fortnight or so. If you like a trip down memory lane, then hopefully some of them will be of interest.
@@cripplecruise7339 I'll look out for those as good to see the town as brings back, mainly, happy memories. People often knock the town and its residents but like everywhere, good and bad. Whenever I go back there, I see change, but it always seems friendly.
I've had PTSD since seeing the basildon tower incident. :(. If you dont know what happened 3 people fell off a tower onto the town center fountain, they died. R.i.p
