    I just purchased one of these on Amazon to do digital art with when I'm not home. Looks like I made a good choice, I really really searched for a affordable touchscreen laptop with pen support and 16gb of RAM, and this was perfect. Battery life is gunna be a bonus, looks sturdy. Shame about the colors, but Ill just pretend its more saturated until I cant review elsewhere hah.

    In Brazil, this machine is weaker - only 8GB of RAM, 256GB of SSD, charger isn't USB-C. But, even in here, for it's price range, it's a pretty good deal. I just bought one. I'm pretty happy so far (ok, ok, only got it for 10 hours....) . I don't like the keyboard layout so much, but I really liked its felling (even with the low travel). At least, it doesn't feel cheap. At least, not as cheap as my last Asus Vivobook felt. It is a solid machine for the price I could affort.
    And thanks for your awesome reviews :)

      while this is a decent laptop, i would give a big recommendation to the amd version over the intel, a bit cheaper, much better battery life and a lot more powerful. If you want you can play video games on it. I have bought the amd version and its so good. Also, if you go to tablet mode, do you get a clicky sound when you close the laptop?

    Got this laptop in teal (greenish blue) in EU with Ryzen 7 (4700U). Have to look hard for Ryzens, 4800U completely sold out here. Ok review except I would not get Intel, for better or for worse. Looking forward to Ryzen 9 in this form factor -- nothing will touch it including da Carbon and my guess is that the integrated graphics will play AAA well. Not surprised Lisa skipped the gaming part having but an Intel on hand. As for the panel the image is sharp (due to glossy screen) and the contrast also helps the image by pushing 1000 to 1. Love the power under the plain cover.

    Sadly I didn't have pleasant experience with Lenovo Flex5 which I purchased last year from CASTCO. The charging USB port is misbehaving from the beginning, sometimes it works but mostly it doesn't. Apparently it fails to power up the attached USB device.
    Secondly the laptop battery gets overheated for no reason. It has happened multiple times when the laptop was idle no applications was open except the browser. The laptop was however charging with battery at +90%. The battery compartment gets so hot that it is hard to touch and can easily damage the LCD if lid is closed. Twice it has happened with lid closed as well when the laptop was on standby.
    The most unfortunate part part is that there was no response from Lenovo on their portal to my help request. I have been using laptops for the 25 years but this was my first experience with Lenovo and honestly extremely discouraging. I would caution all potential buyer to be very careful.

    Hi Lisa. When it comes to pricing in the US, do you actually pay more than what is mentioned because of VAT/ Tax? My understanding is that, in the US, tax and cost of goods are always kept separately so you only see the total price during the check-out?

    • @TW---
      @TW--- 2 года назад +1

      Late reply but: In the US it's called a "sales" tax on anything you purchase. Depending on what state one lives in the % is different. Between 5%-9% i believe. I think a couple states have no sales tax. Some states have a "Tax Holiday" usually around back to school time where there is no sales tax on school supplies. Including computers under a certain price. Also, if an online retailer does not have a 'brick and mortar' store (physical store) in the state you are ordering from thete is no sales tax. Some states have recently been trying to eliminate this though. So yes, any time you see a review video of any goods, the price quoted does NOT include sales tax. Hope this helps.

    Please review the new Dell G7 15 with the i5H and 1660 Ti. It has an 86WHr battery and has the potential to be a great long-battery gaming laptop for under $1,000. I want to know - how comfortable is the keyboard? How is the screen - is it calibrated enough to be okay for photo editing? What is the battery life? Please and thank you!

    Trying to decide between Flex 5i 8gb ram 256gb for $899 AUD or Flex 5 ADM ryzen 5500u 8gb ram 256gb for $1200 AUD. Mostly for school but want to play Sims 4, GTA and other similar games, not all the time but definitely want the option. Which variant is best ?

      I think she's already reviewed that laptop? Either way, I own the AMD Ryzen version, the Ryzen 7 4700U variant that was exclusive to Costco. My review? It's excellent. I've used it with Win10 as well as System76's Pop!_OS. Screen is meh, but performance is phenomenal and the keyboard is quite nice IMO. You may have noticed that I said "WAS exclusive". To my knowledge the AMD Ryzen SKU has been discontinued as you can't purchase it from Costco/Amazon/Lenovo.com. :(

    Is it just me, or is it strange to have the speakers on either side of the keyboard? If you actually use the 2 in 1 feature and flip it around, to either tent it to watch a move or use it as a tablet, the sound is diminished to around half of what it is when you've got it "laptop"style facing you. I wanted to use this to watch movies tent style, but I lose half the sound. Poor design in my opinion. Surprised no one else has mentioned that.
