    It has taken me a long time to get this video done but it is one of my most satisfying scratch built creations to date! I hope you like him.

    There was great anticipation built up for this one, Ben, from your Instagram teasers and of course, I was not disappointed! This is another scratch build masterpiece, equal to your bus and spaceship, in my opinion. The level of detail you're getting with styrene is phenomenal. Nearly an exact replica of the 3D model. Each stage, from building, to priming to painting, brought it more and more to life. I especially like the arms and the tread on the bottom. So cool. By far the best news out of Japan this week. Such a tragic week for all you there. Vendy was a bright light for me. Thanks for making my day! Peace and love and a big thumbs up from Switzerland - Andrew 🍁👍🤖

      Hobbying certainly allows you to go spend some time in a separate world for a while. This project was a great escape and it's getting even closer to a full scratch build! I still "cheated" a little with some non styrene bits but maybe next time 😂

    I LOVE your scratch builds, Ben! I have one that I have been wanting to do and I think that you have inspired me to get off my butt and do it. I like your chisel work and the X trick for cutting out sections of polystyrene. 14 hours of footage, huh? You might give this trick a shot. I have started only filming a technique a little at the beginning, a little of the middle, and then the very end of the process. I try to NEVER shoot over a minute UNLESS I have a very specific reason to. This has saved me from having to go through TONS of footage to edit it down into a 2 and a half second shot! : ) I don't know, maybe that'll help a little. Okay, that's all of the unsolicited advice that I'm doling out. Excellent work man!

    With how closely the build and the 3d print matched, I sincerely thought it would be revealed that you made the build first and then made a 3d model based on it. Incredible work!
    24:16 I like the colors of the build more, but do agree that the 3d print's screen looks better. I think its cartoonish rendering goes better with smaller objects (and the print looks more cartoonish overall with its more noticeable dark areas). It's more difficult to pull off when it's larger and surrounded by more realistic details in my opinion.

    • @BPCustomCreations
      @BPCustomCreations  2 года назад +1

      That would have been cool but I'm nowhere near the skill level with 3D modelling as this! I completely agree with you about the paint jobs too. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 😁👍

      @@BPCustomCreationsNext time just spray the hidden area a flat black before assembly. That or backfill the gaps so nothing shows through.
      I had opted to not include an engine for one of my first 1/64 custom car creations, you could see clear through from one wheel well to the other. It bothered me so much I had to disassemble the car and build some panels to block off the engine bay. Heh, you live and learn.

    I really like that you scratch built this out of styrene and we're able to get that much detail, it shows people that you don't have to 3D print everything.

    • @BPCustomCreations
      @BPCustomCreations  Год назад +1

      Thanks! It's definitely easier to get more smaller details on things I could never scratch build by using a 3D printer. For example, custom wheel designs for small 1/64 scale cars. 3D printers are a useful tool but scratch building is so much more rewarding for me. I enjoying blending both techniques together like in my newest video of the scratch built ship.

    About 5 years ago I watched a film about some things in Japan that might seem odd to people in other countries. One of those things was vending machines that sold live crabs. The machines were refrigerated and the crabs were trussed up with rubber bands and lined up like candy bars or bags of chips on those vertical trays with the big coil to push out the next item. This is, or was back then, true. Would you consider 3-D printing and painting a few dozen little crabs ?
