Wanted to say thank you. Went to Reno this past weekend and played a little craps. Started with a couple hundred and left the table doubled up plus some. 2 rollers forty minutes using the Squeeze play. I enjoy watching and learning from your videos. Thanks again.
I have always liked the dice table because of the action, but as a poker player it was hard to risk/lose money so fast after grinding out hours at the card table. I never really understood the game, for example I thought "odds" was just a way for the casino to make more money on 7-outs. Anyway, I decided to educate myself on the game, as I have a trip to the Horseshoe in Boosier City, LA this upcoming weekend to bet football. So, lately I have watched a lot of your videos and have learned a lot! I feel bad because I have never tipped / toked at a craps table -- I didn't even know you could or how to do it. I just wanted to say thanks to you and that guy/dealer at Casino Quest!
not sure if Horseshoe still allows it but it used to be the only casino to offer 100X odds on craps play. I used that to my benefit at the one in Baltimore =)
Great information. I have some dice purchased online that weighed together 12g. I have dice purchased in the store from The Orleans that claim to be used, stamped, and punched but also were around 6 grams per die. Another great video!
Great video, especially since you had a nice large variety to Sample from!! I think the only other test that would have been cool to see (for how the Amazon dice perform), is with one of those ‘Dice Balancing Calipers’… where you can spin each die and verify equal weight/balance (when the spinning comes to a stop). If the Amazon/chinese dice are still accurate with their PIP densities, that might give enough ‘credit’ to use those dice (even for practicing Dice Influencers)!! Thanks J!!! 🎉
What if you take the calliper to the casino and started measuring the dice before your throw , what would happen ? Would they throw you out , give you the evil eye or let you continue to measure ?
Great video! Super interesting. When you were looking through your pile of dice you mentioned "Diamond Jo Worth, Ft Worth". Diamond Jo is not in Ft Worth, but rather Worth County, Iowa. It's my local casino, and they are great because they autobuy the 5 & 9 at $20. Thanks!
Great video! The lack of consistency in the Amazon dice is enough for me to avoid them. I wouldn't mind the slight size or weight difference if it were consistent. Thanks for showing us real measurements!
I watched 90% of the video. You mentioned about casino stamp altering the dice a little I was thinking of the same thing actually? But I don't think that you went back to that sunject.
I don’t know the answer. I’m sure it puts dice out of true balance, but because material is just “stamped” or moved, the weight should remain same. But I think unbalanced would be biggest issue with stamped casino dice.
Mahalo Jeremy, good information. I practice with used punched casino dice. Since I don't go to Vegas every month I think the Chinese made dice would work for me too. RogerT
Love your channel! Very high quality production and useful information! I have also measured dice for the same properties that you show on this video. My measurements were just like yours. However, a few years back, I discovered an unusual anomaly with some dice I acquired. Left-handed dice. What!? That's absurd! But its true. All measurements were the same as the others, but the pips were backwards - (left-handed). I've got pics. I'd be happy to share, but not sure how to attach here.
Ah the power of M&A (business world) There is a great line in the movie Armageddon (1998) - Peter Stormare as Lev Andropov (IMDb). "Lev Andropov : [annoyed] Components. American components, Russian Components, ALL MADE IN TAIWAN!" So Do you play the Don't Pass if the dice aren't right? hehehehe 🕶
When using a micrometer, you MUST use the tips of the jaws to get an accurate reading. That is the ONLY location where the reading is correct. If you mic something deep in the jaws, you will ALWAYS get a slightly smaller reading [close the jaws and hold them up to a good light source, and you will see the slight gap deeper in the jaws]. Also, on ANY weight measuring device [whether a scale or a balance], the item being weighed MUST be placed in the center of the pan in order to get an accurate reading. The closer the item is to the edge of the pan, the greater the error you are introducing [it will give a lighter reading than the actual weight]. One final note, you tried to use the words 'die' and 'dice' to properly differentiate between the singular and plural usage. Unfortunately, you weren't consistent in your usage. I suspect [I don't KNOW, I'm guessing] that the reason for your inconsistencies is that you didn't actually understand the difference, but had heard people use both forms and tried to use them also. 'Die' is singular and should only be used when talking about one single die. 'Dice' is plural and should be used when talking about more than one die. It was an interesting video, although you had a tendency to be somewhat repetitive at times.
Long time fan of the channel and very cool to learn youre from the Reno area! I live out here too but don’t have the bankroll to get onto a real table, would love to come roll some real dice with you as Crapsee doesnt offer me the same satisfaction of throwing. Closest i have gotten to a real game was bubble craps and you know how that can go…
I recently tried your strategy for playing the twelve but instead of playing every roll I waited until after 15 rolls then started playing the 12. I did well until a dry spell of 45 rolls.
Jeremy, in your research did you come across the true dimension for the pips? I thought I heard you state the depth of a pip but not the diameter or the spacing for the pips. I only ask for construction of oversized novelty dice. As always, great stuff! Thanks for providing all your material.
You didn't mention anything about left-handed or right-handed dice. I don't know if you know anything about it. But basically, I found out a lot of information about it. I had one casino change thr dice in the middle of my roll. I looked at my once red dice now blue and was kinda confused for a second but just went with it. Jokes on them i rolled even better with the new dice
random question that just popped into my head. can you ask when the last time the dice were changed out? Can you ask to change out the dice? If you get a monster roll, can you ask to keep the dice?
You can ask for anything, but it is highly unlikely that they will change the dice for you or let you have a set of dice. They typically put a new set of dice into play every morning and I can't imagine them not wanting to tell you that.
Are Amazon dice the best in the world?...probably not, but their quality is more than sufficient to learn to play craps at a high quality level and your org would be getting good value. Even dice with a small punch hole can be acceptable for practice. Would not use dice where punch is large or drilled through.
Dice setter here, I just came from Mohegan Sun yesterday and had the biggest roll in my life. Almost hit the ATS 2x and managed to turn 300 into 2500. Did setting and having a consistent throw and landing area help? Maybe. But even if it didn’t, the gamblers superstition forces me to continue setting lol

You are using the calipers wrong. The jaws are tapered so the end is where you have to measure at. That is why your numbers were bouncing all over the place. And yes those WEN calipers are terrible.

I’m sure they would not allow.
Thank you! This was very informative!
I was told at HorseShoe, both in Las Vegas and Tunica, MS, that they change the dice every four hours on normal days.
Great video! Super interesting.

Yep slip of tongue. There are no casinos in TX so... haha
That was fun and entertaining, Jeremy! And I got the button! Thanks! ...Claude

Great point!
Was in Vegas on the LaborDay week and played for the first time. Point and crap was all I could muster.
That’s fine, everyone starts with first bet

Thats right, there are two different "standard" pip patterns, although they always add opposite sides to equal 7

"Make it perfect so no dice controllers can beat them" that's the closest endorsement I have heard Color Up to give that DI is real lol.
Ha, its more along the lines, of casinos don't want to be cheated...but I throw the DI crowd a bone now and then

Nice job. When r u going to cut a craps table in half? Thanks for posting.
I guess once I have the funding
Dice at my home casino are changed out daily. I have also seen them change the dice during the day after a really hot roll.

@@troydunkelberger4682 that's illegal. you could of called the gaming commission. Thats not a small fine.
Color Up, what is your opinion on bubble crap machines??
Fun option when budget is very limited
Those edges are really sharp, I watched a no roll that bounced off the table and nicked a persons face and it actually cut them.
They are indeed sharp edges and very hard, so with some velocity it certainly could cut someone.

One of casinos by me called the American Place changes dice every 6 hours, 4x, very hard to roll good at all
Whats your thought dice control i have dice plus dice holder which lets you barely pick them up velvet holder
I don't spend time practicing it, if that tells you what I think of it
Wouldnt it be cheaper to go to the casino gift shop and buy discontinued dice? To get the correct ones?
Those ones are stamped or drilled, so they are no longer in perfect balance. I think it’s fine, but those serious about dice control usually do not.
@@ColorUp ah ok. That makes sense
great insight and information… thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
Some Vegas Casinos are starting to use a textured dice that feel different to throw. I recently saw them at The Paris.
hmm, interesting
My experience lighter dice is more bouncy than heavier dice = what is the throwing method one over the other
makes sense
Can I buy dice from color up?
Are you still selling your color up dice? I didn't see any on your website
Currently no. They sell out in hours when I get in.

Dice out!
I'm the one who usually can spot them on the floor before the pit people.

I know the casino up here replaces dice every 8-12 hours depending on business of the table

Have you only been using non punched dice in your videos? Punched dice may be unbalanced and could lead to non random numbers.
I do not used punched dice in my vids. Ha just American made casino grade 🎲🎲
