How to Multistream for FREE using multi-instance OBS + restream.io (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)

- In this video I am showing you how we are multi-streaming using multiple instances of OBS, OBS Virtual Cam and restream.io free account. There are other easier ways to do it but requires a paid package, if you are interested in learning how to do that still at a lower price level, let me know and I will post another video tutorial where I am using just one OBS instance and castr.io X2 package.

Great video and I appreciate the time you put into it! I would like to say that if you are using this method though, you need to make sure that you are hitting both Start Streaming AND Start Recording in OBS as if you do not it will not start the stream for both automatically. I did get this working and it works great as a two platform solution. Thanks again!

For the sound, go to the top menu, File -> settings -> Audio . In Devices change the "Mic/Auxiliary Audio" or "Desktop Audio" to the soundcard that your sound comes out of and click Apply, OK.
That's pretty much it, the sound will be good to go, do this to all instances though, select the same sound card.
I usually pick the Mic/Auxiliary, but any of them will work as long as you pick the correct soundcard (in all instances, don't forget - these settings don't transferred). Hope this helps.

I use Streamlabs OBS... is this possible?
Streamlabs >> Restream (as normal)
plus
Streamlabs >> OBS >> Mixcloud (or other RTMS destination)
I'm hoping there's a way to grab the Streamlabs output in OBS, then send OBS wherever you need...

I am not sure if you can run streamlabs in multi-instance like OBS, you can try adding the same extension in the shortcut.

@@AthanHilakiWired thank you...i looked and saw it...worked perfectly and I was able to finally run a facecam on obs and streamlabs to twitch and facebook at the same time without having to purchase a 2nd webcam.

This is awesome! Thank you. So does this mean that I still need to have a restream account to stream to a Facebook group and a Facebook business page and a Facebook personal profile at the same time?
You cannot stream on a facebook group and a facebook page without a paid account.
You can use free restream + obs to stream on Facebook profile and then use Facebook and one instance of obs to stream in a group and another instance to stream on a facebook page.
With OBS you can stream directly on Facebook...two instances, one for group and one for page
Hi Athan, can you give me a suggestion to stream a live acoustic show on facebook live? at the moment I have my condesor mic hooked up to logic pro X then going through OBS and sound flower. When I stream on FB Live I don't do it via OBS due to lag time. Also the sound, while pretty decent sometimes clips and gets glitchy and my streams have dropped out during the gig the last 2 times. My hardware is a 2011 imac with 14gb of RAM any tips would very helpful, thanks!
Hi Kenneth, you are saying something about lag time when streaming on Facebook? If you mean the difference between your actual live performance and the time it goes to the audience that's normal and it happens on all streams, it can be from 5 seconds to 10 seconds. That's because there is a buffer between your feed and the broadcast, Facebook, RUclips, Instagram everywhere, it's normal. Now, I recommend you start your livestream by going to Facebook.com/live/producer . From their make sure you check the option that says keep stream active when minor disconnections, then grab the steam key and url and add those in your OBS session (Options -> Stream). This should keep your connection alive. One other thing, sometimes disconnections happen when your PC is not powerful enough or your network, in the first case double check the CPU make sure it's not peaking, since you are using logic and OBS, don't use a lot of plugins in logic, and ideally plug in a network cable as the 2011 Mac wifi is not AC, it's probably N protocol.
Another thing, you are using soundflower. Soundflower tends to have audio glitches, so I would not use that, search for audio hijack (by far the best routing audio app, I use it when stream live music and recording when dj), works with blocks, drag and drop and you can route your logic sound to OBS from there etc.

Yes of course, any platform that offers RTMP will work.

@@AthanHilakiWired I found version OBS-Virtualcam-2.0.5 on github, I installed, and in Tool section I see a new add. When I click I see a new window with setting (like Autostart, TargetCamera etc). Hovewer in next OBS window, when I want to add the camera I don't see on my list virtual cams.
