Prince played the soundtrack to my life. My God, I remember when I picked up his first album when I was 13. I had his posters on my wall, and I bought every album that he released. I listened to him evolve into the greatest guitar player I’ve ever heard! He changed my life again, when I went to the Purple Rain tour when I was in college. I saw a concert on TV years ago I should say I saw the end of a concert years ago while flipping channels. I can't remember who it was but the stage was massive having multiple platforms all over the place. I caught it just as they announced they had a friend who they asked to come play with them. Princes patented sound comes out of nowhere as he walked through the fog. It was unbelievable. I've looked online and worded my searches every different way I can to try to find that show and have had no luck. I thought I just found it but no luck again. This was impressive but the one I'm trying to find was jaw dropping. I'm not easily impressed. I've been around music and the business for over 55 years. Seen and heard most everyone out there. The world has been sleeping not to have noticed before
The guy could play any instrument, but on guitar he was a MASTER! Truly a musical genius. RIP.
We should all be in awe that we shared a world where we had this in our lives. Those who come after this post, be thankful that there’s a record of such greatness, and others. 🌹🥰🙏🏽☔️💫🥀 cuz cars like this don’t pass us everyday 😢
Thank you for your meaningful comment 💜🙏
I used play this live video over and over and that solo was firmly stuck in my head. i'd go to the beach everyday playing air guitar to it. Was a great time. Great to see now how much people know and appreciate Prince these days.
I didnt really get into prince after he passed. Im a guitar player. Man too bad wish i could have saw him in concert live
@@larrytrejo1882 He was a smorgasbord of many different talents. I'm glad I got to see him 3 times. It was hard to absorb everything that was going on at his gigs as there was so much to watch and listen to.
Usually I always watched videos and could rewind and play particular parts repeably, so at a live gig I was a bit torn between enjoying seeing him live but not being able to replay and focus in on the detail.
He was why I picked up a guitar and it's been a great journey just doing the small bit I do.
He was a great guitar player, great showman, and sadly missed!
Prince was a fkn legend...even metalheads and country fans loved him
As a country metal head, I heartily agree.
Poser metal heads 😂
He's an icon. When Prince passed, metal and Country stations gave a tribute to Prince. Nuff said
@@courylanders4142 only glam metal fans liked prince 😂
🤟
An avalanche of emotions pouring out of his guitar😮 Just amazing
That's very rare these days. That's what music is supposed to be about.
'Just My Imagination' is also OUTRAGEOUS 💜
I know 🙌 unbelievable
Yessss
As a Prince fan since 1980 and hearing this song about 1000 times, there is no reason what so ever why should I be surprised or in complete awe but DAYUM! That solo hits you right in the soul and makes you what to grip something study very tightly! Fricking LEGEND!
Love Prince. Like Hendrix,Van Halen, Vernon Reid and BB King he has so many legendary solos to choose from. This is definitely one of them.
BB King only new three chords
It’s Rush for me.
@@robertsheppard4321 BB King only knew 3 chords, but he has so many classic songs and solos, it only solidifies his genius.
Prince was truly awesome artist. Pure genius. As a senior citizen, I love Prince still. Cried after his passing. Talented in every category of the musical world. He wrote music and songs for other artists and gave them away. Surely missed 🎼🎸
This will be iconic for the remainder of time. Imagine humanity listening to this 200 years from now! Thank you to whoever preserved this moment in time.
Pretty damn awesome !!😎RIP Prince
“This gives me chills !!!
Damn!! Why do we always lose the good ones : Prince “ You left us to early .. This came from the heart ❤️❤️👍
Totally agree, so musical and well placed notes. You can't compare him with someone else. Amazing mind blowing talent. RIP genius you are missed. Expecially in these days where real next level musicianship is rare unfortunately.
The Best Superbowl Performance, as well.
You dont need lyrics too feel this. The guitar sounds like it's in pain, literally crying. gut-wrenching, That's how you make the "Song Cry." It's like the guitar is telling the story, Prince is the translator. ❤😮
If somebody's heart and mind feel this is the best solo of all time
this is the best
that's the magic of music
it can be a few notes solo or a million notes,it always speaks to people somewhere
To me,Prince was one of the most complete, prolific and
gifted artist of all time, his body of work is colossal
he will never be forgotten like BoB Marley or Miles Davis
new generations will keep on discovering this amazing musician and performer
Hands down best halftime performance ever 🔥🔥 I was glued to the TV 📺
Like a True Prince of Musicology he commanded and owned that stage performance, and the bandmates just had no other choice rolling their eyes & smirky faced but to lay themselves back and let Prince Unleash His Musicology upon the Hall Of Fame Solo, then he finished up, dropped the guitar like Vai and walked off the stage !!! "YEAH BABY" !!! "Gone but the music lives on" - "Prince" (RIP) ! ! ! 👍😎🎸♥️😀🌹🎼🇺🇸🙏 DDH 8-21-2023.
Very unique and gifted guitarist, Sad He's not still in the world.
I don't listen to Prince, really at all. But WOW.
As someone who listens to a lot of Hendrix and Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, this is JUST as good as those guys.
11/10 here.
I knew Hendrix b4 Prince, but after that concert Prince became my fav guitarist
For a man that could play OVER 22 instruments, the guitar was his best by far! The world lost a Legend, but Heaven gained one! We miss you Prince, but still have your music/videos to remember you by....
When they covered George Harrison's While My Guitar Gently Weeps at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, they had Prince come out and deliver the solo, to be asked to cover George especially on that song would be enough to tell anyone just how good you must be and Prince was that good. Damn shame drugs took him from us all.
Where did his guitar go at the end of that? Ha!
Eric Clapton played guitar on while my guitar gently keeps.
@@chetsacharko4147 Please watch this so next time you comment you know what it is you are talking about. Also, Eric played on the Beatles album version, feel free to skip ahead to 3:20 ruclips.net/video/6SFNW5F8K9Y/видео.html
I got to see him on the musicology tour effin incredible. I'm a big burly biker looking dude and he had me crying like a baby
Make that guitar cry like an effing baby, Prince
Ik hoorde hem voor het eerst bij Alfred Lagarde bij het programma Beton in de auto naar huis.Mijn eerste gedachte een nummer 1 hit. Geweldig.Jammer dat er dat soort programma,s niet meer zijn.
Totally and utterly agree, listened to this a million times since 1985
This made me cry and smile at the same time. 💜💜💜
WOW! I have been sleeping on Prince forever!
It stands out as the most incredible show I’ve ever seen, before or since!
I cried in 2016 when I heard he had passed, and I still tear up to this day when I hear his guitar solos. He was a gift from God, and those of us were alive to watch his career are truly blessed!
I know I will never see another artist quite like him again in my life…Rest well Prince, and play amongst the angels for eternity……..
I heard purple rain live a dozen of of times and prince always played it differently but this is actually the best live version ever
I read an interview of Prince saying his guitar playing drastically improved over the years! obviously, he knew better than we do.
Rock music benefits from the power of youth. Still a young lad here. My personal favourite purple rain lead breaks is the 1990 Tokyo version. More refined, less wild abandon. One for the ages.
[edit: OK, this one is probably better 😉]
No u r right.Tokyo 1990 is better
I loved princes music I wouldn't say he's the greatest there ever was. I would say that night on that stage nobody could have done it better.
kindly send us the link when you find it.. i wanna see that too.
@@eonoeeonoe7647 it drives me insane every time i think of prince thst i cannot remember who it was he played with. It wasnt a group you would ever put yigether with prince. Im guessing it was a planned deal simply because the stage set up was massive and spread out all over the place with risers at yarious heights smooth fliwing ramps and either stairs or lifts to lift the people up through holes in some of the risers. That stage design and set up would have cost a fortune. If it ever comes to me ill put it on youtube.
Prince was one of the very few artists who ‘got high’ on their own talent…he used his guitars like a painter uses his brushes
I agree there are many great guitar players but him and any guitar hetouched were an amazing life changing combo
Unfortunately, the need to get high on other things is what destroyed him in the end.
you couldn't be more wrong prince never did drugs to get high he was taking those pills for his back and hip pain don't disrespect prince ✌️
exactly prince will always be the goat guitarist
Prince was always underrated as a guitar player. After 30 years of playing I can tell you the man was a musical genius and a master on the guitar...in fact the man could play any instrument at the highest level. Thats God level right there...and he could sing.
Truly a phenomenal musician and overall entertainer of our time. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Prince was genius. A force of nature with natural gift of music. His music could touch your soul.
He murdered all guitar solos!
💯💯
If you didn't know Prince could shred. you didn't know Prince.
SRV Texas flood live at the El Mocombo , nearly the entire song is a solo and he was in beast mode
Rolling stone ranked prince #14 out of 250 greatest guitar players of all time. SRV was #20. 💀
@@Banzo_ Rolling Stone dont have a clue, Kinda like RRHOF...every year their ranking is different and Uli Jon Roth/Frank Marino/John Petrucci is never there...its a popularity contest not skill.
@@KillerMcDiller Yep
@@Banzo_ That list is bullshit.
@@killboybands1 I know... That's why I pointed that out.
Legend Prince Timeless
It’s debatable if it’s his best but unquestionably my favorite 💜
Truly inspirational.
Talented performer and a great guitarist!
Finally a reasonable comment, not all this "greatest ever" nonsense.
There will never be another guitarist like Prince the man was a genius at his art may he RIP forever!
Rock and roll hall of fame while my guitar gently weeps far out
That one is my favorite
Princes vibrato was phenomenal
I’m not thinking Prince had that much vibrato in his voice, at least not that I had noticed.
And pre stroke I had a Sinatra quality baritone, so singing is something I know.
@@kevinmcconnell3641 his guitars m8 listen 2 it
IT ' S SO DEEP THE GUITAR SOLO ! , GOD BLESS PRINCE !
He was a great soloist for sure, he made it look easy, greatest I’m not sure about that…. That would be up to the interpreter but definitely top 20 all-time….as an all around musician.. wow! Top 5 for sure…I took him for granted when he was alive…. Incredible cat…,
His empty room solo takes the cake beside this one
Prince has the greatest Super Bowl halftime performance ever!
I’m beyond speechless…………
He was freaking amazing. It's such a shame he left us way too soon 😢
Absolutely hands down, the greatest guitar player ever!! Mastered 139 different instruments.
He's one of the best quitarrist, ask to Eric Clapton. Prince's music never die.
goosebumps..
That man put his soul into this wow.
Man I miss his presence in the world
I miss Prince every day! He was an understanding guitarist. 🎸
He was amazing and just incredible player!
I was blessed to have seen him, "LIVE IN CONCERT!" He could play with the Best! Just imagine Prince and Jimi Hendrix playing together! WOW!!!😅
ENOUGH SAID!!!
FANTASTIC.
I want to ask Grace Bowers to play this just once at my wake.
Dang it he was so good!❤
He was a class act 🔥
Saw PRINCE several times..from the beginning..to his last in my city..we were blessed to be in that era..the era b4 was pure music then it started to be synthesized but it came from musicians that human touch to infuse our state of mind, body & soul..those musicians are Prince, Ernie isley, Stanley Clark, etc..& in concert it was magical & soul wrenching..but good to the soul..the icing was they cud go hard too.😊😊...man Prince was one of those special ones & his vocals was top tier too. Him & Mike were different..as Mike wud say Magical...both gone, too soon...but yet they never will be. Utube is the greatest gift to all of us...man im keeping this..but then again its always assessible😊😊
Chills to this day when I hear this song. It was such a powerful force in our young lives back then. It amazes my the timelessness of this wonderful song.
Man, Prince sure could make the guitar and all the other 26 instruments he played express every emotion, convey every thought, and ounce of energy to poor it's soul out into song. R.I.P. Prince.
The second part of the solo is even better !!!!
I'll always remember when he played at the concert for George (Harrison) with all of the other musicians on While My Guitar Gently Weeps. He just took off and left all the others behind.
RIP Purple One! 🙏 I miss you!!❤
That guy was a master in everything he did.
Wow Amazing Really Miss This Guy 🙏❤️
