    I'm curious where you were flying over prior to descenting through the clouds. I thought it was Dalwhinnie and the Drummochter hills, or maybe the Gaick pass, but I am not aware of any windfarms in that area. The only windfarms I am aware of are on the east slopes of the Fannichs, to the west of Inverness.

      At around 2:30 the aircraft was over Loch Ruthven and Loch a'Choire and there are two windfarms can be seen in the distance. I guess they are on the moors to the west of Tomatin. You can find them on this site www.mygridgb.co.uk/map/

      @@peterhastings703 That makes sense, the aircraft had just crossed the Monadhliath at that point, a bit further north than I thought, and it approached the airport from the west.
