Join me on a short UK Domestic flight with British Airways. Enjoy all the usual features of my trip reports, especially the surprisingly pleasant Aspire lounge at Inverness.
The Highlands are a beautiful area of Scotland - why not visit one day? Flights and trains are cheap...

I flew this route in the 70’s BA operated a Viscount which had huge elegant windows, it took nearly a stately 2 hours, you were served a full meal, the meal trays were double the size then, and the bar came round twice, all free in those days. They also used the Trident, faster than today’s jets all British made too.
Have to agree with the others - this is a great vid. Such a warm and cosy feel from the get-go, beginning with the 'home' feel of the Inverness lounge, airport and airfield. You also got the tone and mood just right. Good job and thanks.
Very beautiful video of a short flight... tastefully done, as always... and of course the British chivalry... beautiful.
Brilliant, love seeing the homeland and the lingo..."pinched the cokes" and the dreich weather. 👍💙
Lovely video, have taken this flight many times and fondly remember Dan Air when they operated and serviced this flight...
Another great one Paul, really enjoyed it. You make a "boring" domestic flight quite entertaining.
Such a shame to see the way BA is going, the one "enhancement" after the other unfortunately.
Thanks again
Brendan Berkhout
I've been to Scotland before, such a beautiful country! Haven't seen the Inverness Airport though, thanks for sharing :)
I enjoyed this, I've never been in Inverness airport. Thanks again. p
+Derek Mccauley Cheers Derek!
im going march 2020
Lighting at 2:48? You should have pinched dessert. Thanks for the vlog.
The FA on the PA has such a beautiful voice :-)
Hi Paul thanks for another great report (apart from the irritating music' but that is just a personal thing). Used to work at INV for BA back in 1983. Certainly changed a tad. If there was a lounge in those days it must have been in one of the toilets or sme such. Looking forward to the next one.
i love the airbus takeoff sounds :D
Interesting fact regarding Inverness: there are no push back tugs at the airport so the aircraft have to taxi of stand under their own power.
I remember when a tractor would drive the luggage from the plane and the conveyer belt was made of metal rollers, passengers would have to stand alongside and move the cases along themselves. That was at Dalcross (Inverness) airport.
Love the aspire lounge. Your going to have to update you domestic flights with Club Europe, so we can see what you get. Great video as usual.
Nice work, Paul! 👌👍
I like your newer videos with you talking
Great vid again mate. Any plans to cover the Inverness-Amsterdam KLM service?
+James Fraser Thanks! No plans to do that route sadly, it's quite a trek just to Inverness!
Nice vid , would love to try this route but the abz flights are about 50% cheaper
Matthew Hector yea I agree there at stupid times some of them like the 22:55 flight.
I’m always wondering if you have to pay extra money for the food and drinks in the lounges or did you already “pay” for it with your BC ticket or your different membership cards.
Would love to know that, because when I fly I fly only economy (Last flown in 2014)
I love your Videos!!
Sunny greetings from a German subscriber :)
Good job paul......
Great trip report! Do you have any plans to cover the A318 service?
+Flying101 Sadly not. It's not a service that appeals to me - no proper lounge, no privacy in Business Class, tablet IFE, and a longer crossing don't compensate for the pre clearance in my view!
Awesome video :-)
10:21 was this before the electric pushback trucks came in
Inverness seems to be a lovely small airport! Very interesting report. However it is very sad that you have to pay for you drinks on flights with BA. The pressure on legacy carrier is more and more recognizable I suppose. Thumbs up
An expensive flight, according to Expedia!! Didn't realise that the flight path went from Inverness (in the east) over Warton (in the west ) and the back east again to London.
+bushyconn Not that expensive - fares start from about £70 but obviously can't be found on every day. Yes all Scotland to London flights track over the west coast, turning slightly east at Liverpool towards Birmingham, then into London. (Both Glasgow and Inverness are actually further west than Liverpool would you believe!)
How much did the flight cost? How long was the ride?
So was this the return portion of your earlier train trip to Inverness?
great channel. Liked n subbed.
Just flew Spirit airlines today. Never again, will I fly them. They charge $45 for a checked bag, and $100 at the airport for a checked bag... and the seats are hard as rocks. The tray tables are about 7 inches wide, not even..
Never fly Spirit, it only takes one time.
Even for Club Class, you have to pay is that true.
Great video as always! Big like to you and massive dislike to BA who stopped free food and drinks service!
One World Flyer it’s a 90- minute flight. Im sure most people have gone 90 minutes without eating before
BA paid mere pennies for those small cans of Coke, they’re still making a very healthy profit…
Get thy knob out!
My local
Yeah Inverness Airport is nothing special though I had no clue even we had an airport lounge and I live in Inverness
Is Inverness too small to handle a 320?
You don’t pay if you are Club Class
No club class in UK domestic.
There is Club on UK domestics now.
legal
BA charges for a Coke?
+Francis Bagbey Yep, they do now.
They charge for a glass of water, nothings free. It will not do their already tarnished reputation any good.
I remember the old days of BA where you go better quantity of food
One reason why I still fly with them is T5 and my avios points
I travelled Club Europe to Prague in 2001, and the food was excellent and there was a choice of 2 mains, based around rocket salad.
