I thought about that as well, but it was totally innocent and he couldn't have possibly known what would happen. People do stuff like that all of the time.
I really think that monster would have murdered Kay that night even without that incident. I watched the trial in that case, and he'd been angry with her and fighting with her even before that. He was insanely possessive and violent. His first girlfriend was lucky to have survived. His lawyers made me sick arguing that there was another perpetrator. The female attorney seemed like she actually believed he was innocent. He spent the entire trial whispering in her ear with his mouth covered like someone might read his lips. When his ex girlfriend testified, he looked like he wished he would have succeeded in killing her. I'm glad he's locked up for life, but Kay had two young sons who now have to grow up without a mother. 😢

A defence lawyer's job isn't to make sure you don't go to jail, it's to make sure the correct legal process is followed and provide alternative theories / introduce reasonable doubt. There's a line between ensuring your client is treated correctly and highlighting alternative theories to the evidence, and coming up with pure malicious lies about victims to try and make your client look "innocent". Some of them are grim and clearly have no morals.

Chicks are dumb af is why. Or maybe they are smart but just like being abused, can't really say but I'm leaning towards dumb af.
I just recently started dating again after being married for 25 years and I swear every single chick I have been with has either been emotionally or physically abused, or both, and then they get right back with another abusive dude and want to cry to me about it. It's the very definition of insane, but whatever, folks are free to suffer their own imposed destinies.
I never want another wife anyways, and you can just fk any chick you want with a nice suit, vehicle and enough money to act financially stable for a night. If you own a decent home they will be ready to move in with their kids within a week. No jokes, real life, that's why I think they're kinda dumb or maybe just not very discerning. They don't even need to really know you and they will be ready to clean up a crime scene in no time. Looks don't matter much and education doesn't matter at all. My late wife was gorgeous AND smart, a past cheerleader with a masters degree, and I am a total slob and a dolt. My wife often said I looked 'homeless'. That's why you see these actual creepshow looking mf'ers being serial abusers and even serial killers of women, no discernment.

@@carolball5764I agree 💯. His attack on her was extremely violent, and he clearly intended to kill her. The sentence he served was a joke. At his trial, his female attorney did the cross on his first girlfriend and brought up how long they'd been bar-hopping that afternoon and accused the girlfriend of picking up her baby and driving home drunk with him. Excuse me, but that had nothing to do with her psycho client trying to stab her to death. His attorney was really strange, and she seemed to have an unhealthy attachment to him. I think she really believed some unknown perpetrator came in there and attacked them.

@@mmy5992I feel bad for her because she’s deceased. She made an error in judgement that cost her life. It’s sad because I assume if she really thought he was capable of that she never would have helped him in the first place or chosen to reunite with him. I realize she had all the info to make a better decision and her choosing not to proves that it was a mistake. She was testifying for him as a friend and that’s what most friends would do. She obviously shouldn’t have but again it was a very bad error in judgment. We don’t know the story he told her. There is no such thing as justice. Anyone rarely gets satisfaction about their idea of what justice entailes. As for lawyers and justice that doesn't even exist. If it's you you're upset or ecstatic when you win or lose your case in court..if you sit on the other side of the table you're going to be upset or relatively happy with the outcome. And no matter what they have done it's a lawyer's job to achieve the best possible outcome for their client that has been the case for approximately 1.5 million years now. Yes, that's how far they go back in history.
(Guess when they found that site the client wasn't too happy about their outcome either. That's a joke 😂 they found legal materials regarding a legal matter, and that is the truth)

Another thing you have to keep in mind is that every story is told from the speakers point of view, and that always influences the program, video whatever your listening or reading about and therefore you become biased leaning on the side of those that tell the story. The case with the victim named Denise is haunting! She did everything she possibly could have done to get help. And people did try to help. I cannot imagine how horrible it must be for her loved ones to know that so many opportunities for her rescue went unheeded. It would be absolutely horrific to lose someone to that kind of violence, but to know that she was able to call 911, and a witness also called 911, and nothing was done would make her loss even more unbearable. The 911 operator was a complete imbecile. Not taking a call about a possible kidnapping seriously is egregious! Ugh! Sorry, I'm on a rant. But I keep thinking about my young adult children and my grandson and knowing what I would have to go through if something like that happened to one of my daughters is horrible. There was a complete failure on every level. The fact that they tried to pass a law, or make a rule about how calls should be handled, and it was only made a "suggestion" is a further slap in the face. My heart goes out to Denise's family. It's heartbreaking that her young children will probably never remember her. 💔

I went through some trauma when I was younger and, as a result, I ended up making some very bad decisions when it came to the people I dated. After my last boyfriend turned out to be a psycho (literally, he's most likely either dead, in prison, or in a mental institution now) I decided that I was happier being single. And I really am. I love being independent and not having to deal with relationship drama, and I don't get lonely, there are plenty of people (and dogs, LOL) in my life. But sometimes I think life would be better with a family, two incomes, children, etc...I do wonder about what my life is going to be like when I'm much older. But then I watch channels like this and decide, "Nope! Definitely better off by myself!" I don't need to go through a bad breakup and walk around in constant fear. (Which has happened to me more than once.)

I have been single now for about 20 years and at first thought I might find someone eventually when I was ready for a relationship, but I became more and more independent and happier with my own life. I honestly can't see the point of having a partner and giving up my freedom and independence. I don't want to share my home except for my pets and when my son comes around. If I want friends coming over or go out I can and do what I want. It's not because of horror stories I just prefer my own company. Just the idea of having some guy in my domain gives me the heebijeebies.

This 1st story infuriates me more than most every criminal act of violence I've heard of in my life.
    1. The USMC needs to answer for this shit. The preponderance of Marines brutalizing women, specifically women....is terrifying because it's just a thing....and because nobody even seems to notice it! I have my own experiences with brutal violence at the hands of a marine and I'm just stupefied that there isn't some kind of task force assigned to look into what the hell the marine Corps specifically does different than other military branches to have such a disturbing # of Marines violently maiming and or killing women.
    2. To defend him as a character witness for any reason is one despicable thing.
But to do that and then throw the doors of the home, where you live with your babies....wide open without care or concern for their safety.
How do you even justify that decision? Never mind all of the decisions that lead to that one ?
She robbed her babies of the only mother they knew and had.
And at his 1st trial, the fact that so many damn people defended him is horrifying and infuriating.
Kay isn't at fault for what Matthew did. She's just at fault for everything she did that ended with her dead in the street.

The USMC didn’t do shit and doesn’t need to answer for anything. Our nation needs those men and women in our military ranks. Who needs to answer for shit like this is our mothers and fathers. We as a nation need to stop tolerating broken homes and this type of criminal. Look at the first jury’s ruling. Those fools enabled this guy to kill his second victim. The USMC would’ve “strung him up” if it had been in their jurisdiction, but a civilian jury practically condoned his violence. Heck, the woman practically killed herself by pursuing the relationship and advocating for a man she only knew *decades* prior. A person’s propensity for conflict resolution and problem solving are predominantly formulated prior to adulthood. Saying the USMC has to answer for criminal Marines is comparable to assigning blame to alcohol producers for how their products are used/consumed. Budweiser doesn’t promote drinking and driving any more than the Corps advocates for domestic violence.

Kay testified at Matthew’s trial for his attack against Michelle and Michelle testified at Matthew’s trial for his attack against Kay. If only Kay had realized that anyone who would attack the mother of his child in that way was no one she needed to be with then maybe she would still be alive for her kids. It’s really sad. The only think I can think of that would make Kay feel like Matthew was worthy to be with is that they had dated before and if he never attacked her in their previous relationship she was probably going off of who he was 20 years earlier. That’s very sad that she would come testify on his behalf and that’s what he did to repay her.

That's exactly what Ive been commenting to those self-righteousness bible thumpers. Makes me see red that they think it was her own fault and how could she have put her own kids at risk like that. Had she known the danger she was in she wouldn't have jokingly told her friend to convince him she hadn't been flirting. She would have run at that moment.

Such incredibly sad stories of deaths that didn't and shouldn't have happened. I'm not American but I do understand the need for harsh penalties but from what Ive seen over the past few years is that somehow they just don't seem to deter. You're only having more prisons and vast overcrowding issues. And one thing I find really fascinating is the intense need to the right to bear arms and no matter the cost is does to your children and loved ones it just doesn't seem to have any impact. I'm not here to pontificate about what you should or shouldn't do but it just seem to cost so much and nothing is working. Not the deathpenalty prison sentences for an entire life time nothing. Doesn't that make you want to look at alternatives? But I do think it's all heartbreakingly sad. And there isn't an end in sight. 🥺

The Pike County massacre is a clear example of the evil that lives outside of urban areas. People expect this kind of savagery to happen in big cities, but for whatever reason, don't believe it can happen in small town America. They're even less aware of the propensity for violence in very rural areas.
Drugs and urban sprawl has absolutely helped to destabilize rural communities, but it's far from the only cause. Our society has raised an entire generation, and is working on the second one, to believe that nothing is their fault. That life is fair and society somehow owes them something. They have convinced themselves it's all fun and games and others are simply here to make them more comfortable.

I don't believe Brewer shot that young man in self defense. He was the one advancing on Garrett not the other way around as he claimed. You can't fight video evidence which clearly shows Brewer as the aggressor. Maybe Garrett said something after Brewer confronted him for urinating on the wall which made Brewer angry but something triggered him to viciously kill a young man that night. I hope he rots in jail for what he did that night and for lying about it.
