    At the end of the day, your 14k or 18k chain should outlast your life. Do you want to save a lil money now or spend a lil extra so the grandkids have more gold weight? 14k works for me. It’s beautiful. I do enjoy 18k for my rings though.

    • @beri232
      @beri232 7 месяцев назад +1

      I would think for rings 18K would be too soft? I have silver rings that are out of round. Lol

    • @KingSavageMatty
      @KingSavageMatty 7 месяцев назад +2

      @@beri232 It can be when you add stones. But by rings, I’m talking strictly wedding bands which I should’ve clarified better. I just got a 5mm polished 18k ring from Braden and Jacoje fam. Absolutely love it. Gold will scratch either way, but I respect the gold weight in 18k as well as the color hue (even if it’s casted in house baby).

      @KingSavageMatty i love all my 14k jacoje yellow gold pieces and been wanting a white gold one for awhile now, for the longest time i been debating on 14k or 18k white gold and just went with the 18k as its kindve darker. I wish i had a jacoje 14k white gold chain to compare it though.

      What is considered “solid” in chains ?
      I bought a nexkless the other day and the dude that sold it to me said it was solid 14k (51grams), but before I went to him, I went to another guy and tried to sell me another neckless that was 22 grams and he also said it was “solid”
      At what grams for a chain is considered solid/hollow? I’m confused. Does solid start at like 30g?

    • @CHOPPASLUGBM
      @CHOPPASLUGBM 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@Turtlemilk Both of those chains could be solid gold. Weight will always be heavier with solid jewelry but the weight doesn't solely determine if a piece of jewelry is solid or hollow. There are solid chains that only weigh 5 grams and there are hollow chains that weigh 20 grams. Hollow chains have empty space in between the links and solid chains have the links completely filled with gold / alloy. Solid will always be better quality and more expensive when compared to identical hollow pieces.

      If you're on a budget and you want 18k then don't get 14k. Just save until you can afford what you want. I never understood the logic by Jacoje saying "oh this is a good starter chain". A chain is a timeless piece that is an investment. Get something that you will want to wear for the rest of your life, not what you can currently afford.

    All my gold is 14kt because I enjoy the light yellow color of 14kt gold. Unpopular opinion but I prefer 14kt color over 18kt+. The orangish color to high purities just doesn't do it for me. Plus the added durability and being more affordable is a bonus.

      @potatoyes246 7 месяцев назад +2

      all gold 10kt 14kt 18kt etc. holds some value... you have to keep in mind that pawn shops will basically pay for the gold melt value. it's karat/24kt
      say you have a 100g 14kt and a 100g 18kt chain:
      58g of pure 24kt gold in the 14kt
      75g of pure 24kt gold in the 18kt
      today's gold gram price (05/18/24): $77.65
      14kt chain: $4,503 of gold value
      18kt chain: $5,823 of gold value
      obviously you can sell the 18kt chain for more, but you're also paying more in the first place.

    All Gold colors.
    14kt Yellow= Yellowish Color but not quite a Gold color.
    18kt Yellow= Perfect Golden Color.
    22kt Yellow= So much Gold color it looks fake.
    24kt Yellow= Dark Yellow, almost Amber color.
    14kt White= almost Silver color but darker Gray. Closer to Nickel Color.
    18kt White= Strangest Color of Gold. You would think it will be a weird yellow gray combination... Somehow it's a darker Gray than 14kt White, especially darker than Silver. Not quite Steel or Platinum color..
    14kt Rose= Perfect Peach color. Not quite Pink.
    18kt Rose = Exactly what you think of when you hear the word Rose Gold. Reddish Yellow.
