i've been using the slippery mode the past few days and it does make a diffence on handling icy roads. I have a 2021 Escape and live in North Dakota we just had a storm 2 days ago and the roads are still like sheets of ice, so slippery mode does help along with driving responsibly per road conditions.
Sport mode definitely my favorite!!! You really feel all the power can engine can give. It literally feel like driving a mustang or a 4 door sedan with a lot of horsepower.
Why didn't Ford set this up so it would stay in eco mode or whichever one you headed in until you changed it? I think that's kind of silly if you wanted an eco mode the car should stay in eco mode after you shut it off and restart it. Is there going to be an upgrade for this at some point?
Yeah I completely agree I feel like I'm doing pre-flight on an aircraft turn the parking brake off turn the auto engine off put into drive mode put into drive
I actually figured out a way to keep it in eco mode to where I don’t have to mess with when I get in the truck……… I told my wife her job is to remember that button and every time we get in the truck it’s her job to switch it over for me! Taaaadahh it’s fixed guys.
When you use the slippery mode on ice you still need to pay close attention to the stops signs or intersections, it will take extra 10’ to 15’ to stop if you going at 25 mph.
does yours not have the deep snow/sand? i have the 2020 explorer xlt 4WD but its equipped with everything and it has intelligent 4WD so maybe that’s why.
I thought the same haha. & yeah I agree I think you still get all the Hp from for example normal vs sport except sport changes shift times and keeps you in higher revs as you slow down to stop signs, red lights. I’ve heard driving it too much like that can ruin your transmission as well so best for one to do their own research.
no explanation as to what the car does that results in these modes. You only give us the results. Terms like "superpowers" does nothing to educate the customer for making informed decisions about a purchase.
Just tested My 2022 Ford explorer Timberline on snow and icy roads in Slippery mode and it perform awesome ..

Does it downshitf when you apply the brakes?

I absolutely agree. How foolish to not have the drive mode stay in whatever mode you had it in last.
Good question, it drives me crazy!

how different in power distributin between eco, sleepery, deep sand, and trail mode? I didn't get FULLY EXPLAINED about explorer drive mode
Just got back home from Carson city crazy snow everywhere 3 hour trip...my explorer was a beast in the snowy icey roads
Is yours the AWD RWD or 4x4 one?
@fordofupland Question! Can you change the driving mode to something other than normal. If so, how?
What buttons do you push to change modes ? You forgot to mention that detail .
Are suspensions changing ? What is smoothest ride ?
You did show the symbols and what they mean. The owners manual is very vague and you did show what you push to get the different modes.
There was NO explanation about the modes actually work. “Fully explained.” HA!
What trim is this? Does the XL trim have these same drive modes and transitions?
does yours not have the deep snow/sand? i have the 2020 explorer xlt 4WD but its equipped with everything and it has intelligent 4WD so maybe that’s why.
How do you get it in eco mode I only have sand mud slippery I had eco but now can’t find it
Can you change the default mode from normal to sport?
That's a great question. We'll do some research and put that answer in a video. Thanks for commenting!
No I'm sorry you can't
It will always default to normal mode. But it will ask you on start up if you wanna stay on sport mode first.
How can we switch sport mode to normal mode directly? Applies all modes one by one when switching; engine feels all modes one by one
Sounds to me like people in southern California don't know how to drive in the rain like the rest of us lol
Do you still have that $31k base Ranger XL that you want $41k for?
When should you switch the mode?????
Whenever you feel like it but I prefer do it stationary
@@Chemical_x-z5t why stationary
Really ?? Fully Fully Explained ?? Like the Opposite. You gotta explain what the system is actually doing to achieve those, so we better understand.
So normal mode it’s just front wheel drive ?
No. It will depend on hills and etc remember this thing is technically automatic 4wd.
You literally didn’t explain anything. sport changes how it shifts

Not sure about ‘fully’ explained
This dude is just rambling 😂
