Do they meet your expectations? It did a nice job for the most part but as with all vehicles, make sure YOU are the driver and stay safe out there 👍 *Thanks for watching and have a great day!*
Outstanding video presentation. I have owned a 2020 Explorer ST for the past two years and learned several things in this video that I did not know. Talk about intelligent, recently I inadvertently turned the wrong way on a one-way street and the vehicle immediately knew this and went ballistic with warnings and chimes to let me know. Great and useful enhancements in this vehicle. Thanks again for a great presentation.
I've had my 2020 ST for 9 months now and love it. I use most of the drivers assist features whenever I'm driving her but I rarely use the parking assist. Partially because I rarely parallel park but overall it works flawlessly.
Hey Gabe - glad to hear you are enjoying your truck! I have an ST that I got back in June - the entire vehicle is amazing except one thing that has been bugging me! I have begun to notice a clunking sound over small and medium bumps (even off slightly uneven pavement). I brought it into the shop and apparently it is an issue with the ST motor mounts. As it does not impact the ability to drive the vehicle or the safety, Ford won't do much about it. Have you noticed that? Besides that, it is an absolutely amazing truck - tech and all!
It has all of the driving features like adaptive cruise, lane keeping, etc but it doesn’t have the parking feature. It might be an option, but I believe only the ST and platinum have the parking feature
I like the tech demonstration you gave Nolan. How it does everything, but recognize a stop sign 🤔? I know my nerves wouldn't allow me to utilize the full tech. I got to be in control especially when my life is at risk. Awesome review buddy!!
I hear ya man and I’m with you lol. The first time I let a vehicle slow me down to a stop behind someone with radar cruise...I was breathing hard and probably sweating lol
Hope one day I can get one. The safety of this car is a 20/10!! Definitely need something like this with my son. Always afraid I’m going to drift into a lane by accident or back up into someone accidentally.
Great demo. I have the 2020 Escape Titanium. I use all the co-pilot 360 features on the highway. Also, on my commute home is a 5 miles stretch at 30 MPH. I use the adpative cruise control, lane centering. My car follows the lead car, adapts speed, comes to full stop. Just press resume, after a full stop and my car continues. Super cool, and yes, keeping hands on the wheel.
Had my ford with parking assist for 3 yrs and never use it. In South Florida you try to take the time to back into a slot and immediately there is another car waiting for you to finish. The parking assist could be good if it guided the car going forward. It came with the car. If I had an option I wouldn't buy it.
Nissan had it first w pro pilot assist...proud of Ford cause that’s definitely an option I need on my next vehicle. Might consider a ST now 💁🏻♂️ GM needs to get with the program, Shouldn’t have to buy a Cadillac to get super cruise.
Thanks a lot for your video. We have the Explorer Platinum 2020, all those features are nice, still I want to be in control of the car 100%. Park assistance is nice, I have used it.
Per KBB, price was fair value at 7k, car was in great shape. I still got the Covid discount deals, all of manufacturers rebates and Healthcare worker discount from the dealership. It was towards the end of the month where they have slow sales and trying to make their monthly quota. Timing is everything. I think they still offer discounts etc. They might value the trade lower but give you big discount or vice versa.. u just gotta hustle to get both high trade in value and still avail the discount. Did a test drive once and then all negotiations were over the phone or online,, i got it delivered to my house . Good luck!
I just bought one only had it a couple weeks now I love the driver assist I wish I could turn off the hands on steering wheel but everything works great
My Kia has active braking, and let me tell you, when you experience it for the first time, there is nothing like it. There was one time the car in front of me slammed on the breaks, and I had literally just looked away to look at my center display to skip the song, (why I didn’t use the button on the steering wheel? Idk), anyways they slammed on the breaks while I wasn’t looking and my car started screaming at me and slammed on the breaks (mind you my foot was still on the gas). That was a crazy experience, and I am truly grateful, cause I know if I hadn’t had that feature I would have hit them. (Also before anyone says I was too close, I was a car length behind, but they came to a complete stop from going 55mph) sooo with that being said that is a required feature I look for among others I have come accustomed too. So it really limits the vehicles I’ll buy. But more and more each year add features. Just like a few years ago it was nearly impossible to find a vehicle that has auto hold (where it stays stationary while sitting still) now most vehicles has that feature standard. But I do a lot of research and test driving before I buy a new vehicle. But I can say the Ford Explorer will most likely be my next vehicle.
Really good video, thank you. I appreciate the demonstrations of the tech. Too many of your peers just complain about the interior and don't show the parts that actually matter to some folks.
"If you don;t like the driver assist you can turn it all off ..." Bullshit (1) half of mine I have to "turn off" every single time I get into the car (2) even with as many 'assist' options disabled as possible the explorer still feels like it's fighting you to drive how it wants to drive instead of how you choose to. Not impressed at all.
That There is a nice looking 2020 Ford Explorer with all the bells and whistles-and the Ford Co-Pilot360 really comes into play keeping you safe on the road
Question , if coming up to an intersection and oncoming traffic is going the speed limit or exceeding the speed limit and you turn left into their path, would the Ford Co-Pilot 360 keep you into your lane and stop with warnings too, until oncoming traffic passes and your clear to proceed to turn left? Answer much appreciated ...! Kirk
The jiggle lane keep assist is unusable. I have it on my wife’s van and it’s so annoying neither of us use it. The touch steering wheel ones are much better. If I’m on the interstate I don’t need to jiggle the wheel back and forth every few seconds…I’m glad most auto makers are not going to just touching the wheel.
It is a problem as Iam finding the Ford sales people know less about how to operate their vehicles then I do. You get handed the keys, given a handshake and a thank you and off you go. You have to learn all the features on your own - thank you You Tube
great review, nice tech by Ford. I'm not too keen on the physical display I feel that it could've been integrated better and the lag on the menus is not a good user experience.
Very good video. In Seattle the most important feature is a very loud horn. It be the wild Wild West out here. No man’s land. Brutal. No mercy. What’s a short guy to do but drive fast and hope for the best. :).
The features are overwhelming. But I like it. I have an ST and I like how it rides on the 21s. But I came from a toy car, Prius V. Used the park assist to show off to my friends and there were ppl all around trying to direct me but the the car was driving 🤣🤣🤣🤦🏽♀️
I got the 2020 Platinum model. Wanted the ST but Zero incentives to buy. Got $ 6k cash back to get the Platinum model. Hard to pass that up. I purchased an OBD Chip Software and it makes a big difference in the torque. The HP is probably more..but the torque is what I feel more. Suppliers says 60HP gain, so that would put me at 425 HP..that's ST territory, without the ST badge. I'm extremely pleased with this SUV as Nothing compares to it. BMW has nice tech in it..great looking dashboard, but no where near the tech options and features of this SUV. Everyone who has seen mine are shocked at what features are in it for the price. Few grips as with all cars...but I got the best bang for the buck. When I need performance, I just drive my Panamera S. Otherwise, the Explorer does it all.
My 2017 Fusion Platinum was the most enjoyable car I’ve ever owned. But. Screen went after 30 months covered by warranty. Odd electrical problems started occurring. Ford App locked my car and I needed to remove the key from the key fob to open manually. I needed road service to start it. Recently, lights started flashing and horn going off when parked. Only 17,000 miles. Just traded on a Toyota Venza. Oddly, the Ford Dealer offered the lowest instant cash and trade in offer than any other dealer. Weird.
I just bought the 2020 XLT it has pretty much All the same features as you are showing here. Only thing that bummed me out was the XLT doesn't have the the front parking sensors to alert you if you are too close to something like it does from the rear bumper. As it does in the other trim models...
What a time to be alive. Truthfully, we're only on the tip of the iceberg with these AI car technologies. It's like the introduction of the iPhone 1. Things will get interesting within the next 20 years.
I rented one for a week and the moment you saw at 12:26 was enough for me to stop using it. While it is way better than any other car I have tried (mostly rentals, never tried Tesla), I think its still not sage enough for full use but I used it as an assist and it really relieved stress as the driver, its so much better than having no system or ping pongy ones like Kia and Dodge.
If it uses GPS like the teslas do sometimes it can think your on the service road so it will reduce your speed. In the tesla it rarely happens but it still does. Great review.
I just don't think this lane centering technology is worth the high price trim and packages it requires for the quality of self driving Ford currently uses.
I have had this same exact model for about 6 weeks and am pretty impressed. Ihaven't had a chance to try the parking assist yet. My only complaint is with the navigation system. I have used navigation systems of different kinds in my work for probably 15+ years and was pretty excited to see the 10 inch screen in the Platinum. Unfortunately the use of the navigation screen size is disappointing. Cluttering the upper part of the screen are over sized function buttons, some have both an icon plus the word for it. They also have the buttons for voice and cancel trip in buttons on the main navigation screen which were previously on a secondary screen on my 2016 ford navigation system. Yes Active Park Assist 2.0 Is My Priority
I've had my 2020 ST for 9 months now and love it. I use most of the drivers assist features whenever I'm driving her but I rarely use the parking assist. Partially because I rarely parallel park but overall it works flawlessly.

btw: It can also park perpendicular.
I Wish I Had Park Assist
I Parallel Park Everyday And I Need That Function
Is this lane centering and adaptive cruise system the same with the Ford Maverick? Thanks!
very good
Is this limited or platinum?
Platinum
Prime Autotainment does limited still drive itself and park itself?
It has all of the driving features like adaptive cruise, lane keeping, etc but it doesn’t have the parking feature. It might be an option, but I believe only the ST and platinum have the parking feature
Prime Autotainment ok, thanks!

I hear ya man and I’m with you lol. The first time I let a vehicle slow me down to a stop behind someone with radar cruise...I was breathing hard and probably sweating lol
I will absolutely trade my truck if that infotainment center is Horizontal, Love that factures. Hope they make change later on...
the XLT has a horizontal screen
Hope one day I can get one. The safety of this car is a 20/10!! Definitely need something like this with my son. Always afraid I’m going to drift into a lane by accident or back up into someone accidentally.
Great video. Most of the Explorer review videos only gloss over the driver assistance systems.
Thank you!

That infotainment center is an abomination.
Ford should have put the adaptive headlights on the ST.

Another Great Video, Ford is kicking ass with Tech.
Love all the input you show us.
Thank you very much George!
Honestly, I'd wait 1-2 more refresh cycle for Ford to address some of this vehicle flaws before purchasing it.
Webster Kollie 100% agree! I like the idea of what they did with it but they definitely didn’t bring their best effort unfortunately
Why so?
@@TheSason666 Yeah.. I've owned mine for 3 months now and it's such a nice and fun vehicle to drive and more importantly reliable
You are awesome 👌 I love the video. I just bought the Ford explorer st 2020 and I am so enjoying. Tha k you for the helpful tips.
Nissan had it first w pro pilot assist...proud of Ford cause that’s definitely an option I need on my next vehicle. Might consider a ST now 💁🏻♂️ GM needs to get with the program, Shouldn’t have to buy a Cadillac to get super cruise.
Great overview of the new Explorer. Much appreciate the detail and showing us to operate the vehicle!
Thanks a lot for your video. We have the Explorer Platinum 2020, all those features are nice, still I want to be in control of the car 100%. Park assistance is nice, I have used it.
Alex R I agree with you completely lol. I don’t like letting it take over but wanted to show it. Enjoy your Explorer and thanks for watching!
I thought the same until owning a Tesla for a few months and then I was like “dang, this thing really can drive itself.”
Just traded my old 2013 with the new one and I like it.
"old" 13 lol
Savedsinnerredeemed Ron how much did you trade it
Per KBB, price was fair value at 7k, car was in great shape. I still got the Covid discount deals, all of manufacturers rebates and Healthcare worker discount from the dealership. I have a 2023 Explorer King Range. I absolutely love the vehicle. I drive a ton. 24k miles in 5 months with work.
I absolutely love your video and this model. Definitely gonna upgrade my car.
My Kia has active braking, and let me tell you, when you experience it for the first time, there is nothing like it. This was a very helpful video for my wife and I to watch. We go take possession of our RS in the morning so we appreciate the comprehensive tutorial!
My 2020 Ford Explorer was a gift from my husband! Best gift ever, I absolutely love it!!
The backing up deal is quite shocking at first. You literally feel like you hit something. Lol
This is why I want a Ford!
Super clear and honest demonstration. Thank you!
Wow Ford is doing amazing things
What University do I need to enroll to learn how to use all the tech 🤪
Definitely not Driver’s Ed 😂
You will need a degree in Robotics, computer vision or automotive control systems.
It is a problem as Iam finding the Ford sales people know less about how to operate their vehicles then I do. You get handed the keys, given a handshake and a thank you and off you go. You have to learn all the features on your own - thank you You Tube
It's insane how many buttons are in this car.
Just need a good salesman to show you everything the car has. The salesman needs to know the product he is selling well.
Lmfao ! Wow
Watching 7:56-
i have a ford escape. and i have a hand free stirring wheel. but down side i have to keep my hands on the wheel
Will the 2021 Ford Explorer Limited do parallel parking?
great review, nice tech by Ford. I'm not too keen on the physical display I feel that it could've been integrated better and the lag on the menus is not a good user experience.
Great video! I am wondering how well all the tech will work in winter where there is lots of snow like Canada! Keep up the good work!
Look Ma , nohands. Its incrediburgable
Love my 2020 Platinum👍
The cars move over for you, because you are driving a cop car.
Great Vid it’s nice to have all of those features because you can survive certain things so that’s helpful.
Any way on how to bypass the "hands on steering wheel"?
I want to see this this undo a autin powers parallel parking spot lol
Great Video, thanks for your time and efforts
Thank you!
Are these pretty cheap now to buy used?
Is there a way to turn off the hand off warning for longer road trips?
Do you get that on the f150s to !!??
I WANT THIS CAR :')
Excellent and very helpful review. Thank you!
Glad to hear it! Thank you
Very good video. In Seattle the most important feature is a very loud horn. It be the wild Wild West out here. No man’s land. Brutal. No mercy. What’s a short guy to do but drive fast and hope for the best. :).
Haha that’s awesome, I need to honk it so everyone knows what it sounds like lol. Funny! 😁😅
Prime Autotainment 😀
The features are overwhelming. But I like it. I have an ST and I like how it rides on the 21s. But I came from a toy car, Prius V. Used the park assist to show off to my friends and there were ppl all around trying to direct me but the the car was driving 🤣🤣🤣🤦🏽♀️

Hi, what model is this?
2020 and still making a mid sized SUV with 16mpg??? Horrible.
Which model is this, I looked on the Ford site and none of their pictures show a center display that big lol
Scuuz me? Can I take a nap?
2:00 trim differences
Dear Ford I love your new large touchscreens but why in the hell didn’t you take full advantage of the larger screen smdh
Weird.
I love this feature on my 2021 Ford ST and I have the same features on my 2017 Twin Turbo Sport Explorer
No wonder why they have soo much issues. Why drive if you need all that technology?? I love my Kia forte 2010.
I just bought the 2020 XLT it has pretty much All the same features as you are showing here. Only thing that bummed me out was the XLT doesn't have the the front parking sensors to alert you if you are too close to something like it does from the rear bumper. As it does in the other trim models...
I don't think that self because automouse can't stop when pedestrian crossing the road it don't work in the rain
Thanks badass I wish they put it on All trim mottos especially the bas XLT
Talk about the speed limit... when the limited is 70, everyone’s driving like 80...
Pretty badass!!
What a time to be alive. Truthfully, we're only on the tip of the iceberg with these AI car technologies. It's like the introduction of the iPhone 1. Things will get interesting within the next 20 years.
Talking about this rain sensor?? Nice feature??, Dude it is not even worth mentioning it, it is nothing special.
Looking to get a 2020 limited in a few days maybe. Very helpful and awesome to see how these features work. Skynet is taking over. Lol.
Ohhh they should bring the rain sensing vipers to f150, Rams have programmed in their BCMs since 2013
Rent a limited for 2 days I'm 6'4" 650+ my 2011 dodge durango has more room under the steering wheel but a was awesome car
I need this vehicle
So mine turned itself on by itself. I have not driven it for about 9 days if that helps.
If it uses GPS like the teslas do sometimes it can think your on the service road so it will reduce your speed. In the tesla it rarely happens but it still does. Great review.
This video was very informative 👌 👏,
Awesome, keep up the good job..
wait till you pass through fruit stand that says 10 avocados for 1.00 but dot fading.
nice video
Tesla who
Nice 👌
Can you disable the pre collision system with pedestrian detection?
I just don't think this lane centering technology is worth the high price trim and packages it requires for the quality of self driving Ford currently uses.
Anyone know if the Explorer has HUD?
Excellent and very helpful review. Thank you!
I'm interested in how those automatic high beams would do in fog and snow.
Would not trust it ..must be expensive to fix
It probably is, I can only imagine!
Prime Autotainment We bought this for my grandma on Christmas and someone crashed into it like a week ago. It wasn’t too bad.
If you think this drives itself you should review a Tesla lol
Very nice review! Keep it up!
Thank you very much Joel!
Not as good as Tesla, but getting very close!
Super laggy. I have a Platinum and the system is so so. But it handles so well, power is there too, super fun to drive.
Thanks for the video! This was super helpful!
Very excellent.
Hey Leo!
Awesome demonstration. Thanks.
The worst is having the turn by turn display show as default and since I dont use that I always have to turn it off. All of these things could be fixed if the screen was more user customizable.
You can use the full screen in navigation. Just press the map once.
You can get all or most of this with earlier models. Doesn't have to be the newest.😁
Wiper stocks are abysmal.
