So much plastic for one cup of coffee! I had this machine but couldn’t stand paying a fortune for the pods anymore, not to mention the crazy amount of plastic being wasted. I’ve now upgraded and got myself an espresso machine which uses coffee grounds and it is absolutely amazing!
I got a Bosch Suny (Tassimo) and a Krups Mini Me (Dolce Gusto) The Lattes out of the Suny are far inferior to the Mini Me. So I use the Tassimo for Coffees and leave the Latte, Cappuccino to the Dolce Gusto.
Thanks for the heads up. I've come from a nespresso virtuo where if you do what you described then it re sets the bar code to deliver the same brew every time. I guess this tassimo doesn't have this setting. But thanks anyway.
Had one of these for 2 years then bought a delonghi dedica best thing I ever done there's absolutely no comparison between the coffee the delonghi dedica especially with the 3re party unpresurised portafilter basket it's like from my coffee shop its that good

Got one of these for my birthday, started off by looking at the picture instructions. Initial flushing of the machine was easy, making a chocolate drink was easy. But where the picture instructions fell down was the two pics between steps 7 & 8 they made no sense. 1+ 2++ 3+++ I'm not stupid so I rang customer services to ask for help. spoke to someone who clearly didn't know the product and liked the sound of their own voice so I couldn't get a word in. Was told to press the button and the machine did everything else. My daughter came round for a Latte and I popped in one of the pods and gave her the cup which contained only milk, I didn't realise there were two parts to the process. It doesn't explain anything in the written word and or on the box/packets, and the pics leave much to be desired. It makes nice drinks but I think once the cheap offers run out it may be a short lived novelty.
This is exactly the issue I have. It never gives me a full mug even when I use the milk and coffee pods. Does anyone know what the +1 etc means?? I thought it would be like my nespresso where it increased the fill from factory pre set. As someone has already said. What's wrong with the written word??
@@original12v I experimented by holding the start button after delivery was completed, it continues to flash for a while, it would appear in this time you can press and hold the button to deliver more hot water. it does not seem to have a preset mode but delivers for as long as you hold or have water available, too much extra water dilutes the flavour so be careful.
"contained only milk"... Luck you. Our machine just made a choking sound and did nothing for a minute. When I finally opened the lid, the milk pod exploded and burned my hands with hot milk. It happened all 3 times I tried to make a latte. Not sure if it's machine or faulty pods.
I'm surprised that people are still buying this machine as it's hard to find pods now. Supermarkets just sell the crappy Nabob and Maxwell house coffee so I had to go online to order pods and when you order these types of drinks the pods are expensive. Got fed up with drinking the same cheap brands every day so I switched to a Nepresso. Pods are expensive for that machine too but better coffee with better variety. Also prefer to foam my own milk to using the Tassimo cream pods

So glad this was in my recommendation I was looking to purchase one of these, but, I don't think I will now. I cannot believe the noise coming from it, and also the amount of time and effort just to get the desired type of drink. It looked a very nice drink though. You're basically paying £2.25-£2.50 for a pint of milk when you buy the latte packs, why? You only get 8 cups per pack. If you buy the Americano pods, you can make your own lattes with fresh milk, not that awful uht stuff in the latte packs. Its much better value, because you get 16 cups, and it tastes nicer. Just heat your fresh milk in the microwave, and its better for the environment, because your pack of coffee pods lasts twice as long. 1 pod per cup, as opposed to 2 for a latte, 1 milk pod and 1 coffee pod for each cup.
Okay one question about the actual drink, are you supposed to stir it or not? Coffees like the macchiato have various layers for example and this is shown on the packaging and ads. It seems to cause a debate whenever mentioned.
Is it normal for espresso grains to be left in the t disc after making the latte? I just got my tassimo, and I made a Costa latte. When I looked at the disc, there was seemingly a lot of espresso left
For more when you insert the coffee and it starts to pour hold in the button until it is where you want it to be leave a touch at the top cos when you let go it still comes out for a couple of seconds
Someone on another video demonstrated how the cleaning disc is used for hot water. The hot water produced was so cloudy as expected I.e the machine was being cleaned. How do you use it for hot water that is not cloudy ?
I'm not sure if I'm honest. For just hot water we have one of the Breville HotCup for when we make tea. This can be an issue with hot water that comes from the same spout as milk/other drinks. I notice some other machines have a separate spout for water which won't then have the remains of any other drink so will be clean hot water.
I have just got a vivy 2 machine. The instructions are terrible therefore for what i am sure must be a simple process i need some advice. How do i use the intellibrew function? If the cup isnt full afterwards do i press the middle button on the right to top up with hot water?

It depends on the drink. The machine scans the barcode on the lid of the pod and that tells the machine how much water. That's why it can make XL coffee's and Espressos
Had one of these but have now moved on & got a proper coffee machine, (dual use of either bean to cup or ground) with a milk "arm" that frothed & heats the milk ( before that I have a coffee maker with separate milk froth/heater) Have to say once you get used to it an espresso machine beats all those pod machines/ filter coffee makers etc hands down... Use pre ground coffee ( any variety & strength), use fresh milk ( as much/ little as you like, as hot as you like) only difference's are the time taken ( heat water & milk) which seriously isn't that long & the cost per drink which is much cheaper... The actual machines vary in price, some quite cheap & not bad as a starting point... It all depends on how much you like your coffee, are you going to want other hot drinks ( chocolate etc) & how much time you have to clean machine after use?? Get an espresso machine, once you've tried them you won't go back

Does anybody know why a tassimo won't work off a generator when everything else seems to be fine??? Had local HV works, power cut off for 5 hours and I couldn't have a cup of decent coffee 😩
Hi yes I think some of it did, you need to give it a bit of a shake/tap on your hand before putting it in to loosen the powder, I found this helped. Enjoy!
Its a latte, proper lattes is 90% steamed milk with 2 shots of espresso thrown over the top and it creates a divide in colour due to this method. Stirring it would mix the coffee in further and make it all brown.
So the first pod you put in, is that a creamer? Then the 2nd pod is the coffee? I thought was only one pod needed for a drink. Is the first pod just to make the coffee more milky but you don’t really need it?
Yes a creamer, some brands comes with a creamer and some coffee alon depends on the type of coffee - you can use fresh milk with any of them if you'd rather.
How did this past quality control being so loud and noisy?! Well that me not making any hot drinks in the night because it will wake up the whole house!
Depends how big your cup is and what drink you are using, I had to use smaller cups or use double pods for a big mug. Should say on the packet how much liquid you get I think.

Shaunagh Matthews I thought the exact same thing, I expected the coffee to be emptied so thought I wasn’t getting it all but the water runs through it to get the flavour, like tea leaves, rather than it melting like our usual instant coffee would x

Came here out of curiosity as I have a dolce gusto myself. Those tassimo pods are kinda freaky to me and I can’t really explain why… also why is the machine smoking? Is it meant to do that? Must be angry that it’s got Costa coffee in it cause Costa tastes horrible 😹

Yes some make a bigger cup but you need to have a look on the packaging, maybe kenco ones. I just used two lots for a bigger costa :)

Shaunagh Matthews I thought the exact same thing, I expected the coffee to be emptied so thought I wasn’t getting it all but the water runs through it to get the flavour, like tea leaves, rather than it melting like our usual instant coffee would x

I have the same machine and I think same pods mine don't squirt half the amount into the cup u hardly get any milk and never get s full cup ???

@@ourchannelofthisandthat yeah I have the same capsules unless I have smaller ones yeah all pushes down the same is it ment to do milk first then other pod is water ment to activate after or what aha I never get s full mug is never topped s full glass up and even my bigger hot chocolate pods don't do s full mug idk what's going on ???

Nope! After it’s finished we just press and hold the “start” button and that pumps more water through x

Came here out of curiosity as I have a dolce gusto myself. Those tassimo pods are kinda freaky to me and I can’t really explain why… also why is the machine smoking? Is it meant to do that? Must be angry that it’s got Costa coffee in it cause Costa tastes horrible 😹

Can you put milk instead of water?
I'd be wary of using milk in the water section as you won't be able to open it up to clean thoroughly after using milk

How do you get the machine to make a large latte or is it only one size?
One size, if I wanted a large one I would do the same thing twice in a bigger cup :)
