HOLY CRAP. I was not prepared for how amazingly realistic this sounds. It doesn't hurt that the player clearly knows a thing or two about how keyboard instruments are played. The mock Procol Harum section @ 3:48 was especially cool. Hell, it ALL was especially cool. In other words SHUT UP AND TAKE MY FREAKIN' MONEY!
Never have I wanted a guitar pedal more from a single video. I've wanted something like this for ages, kudos to someone for making it, and no surprises that the someone that made it is EHX. You guys just made an easy $220.30!
The B9 guitar mix is insane and solves a lot of problems for a band with no keyboard player. Incredible. A guitar player could tackle the rain song etc without a keyboard player. Incredible.
Believe me or not, I connected the B9 with a microphone, and recorded two parts of organ playing the harmonica, with the " Cathedral" preset, add a little bit of reverb while recording, and the final result was that sounds real! Made a solo part connecting an electric 4 string banjo, with the preset " Gospel", none of the listeners could believed that all the parts were not made with a real organ ! Sounds great !!
Greatest product overview/tutorial ever. I like how they refer back to the instrument the pedal emulates and explain how it works. That is respectful. No more trying to read Guitar mags that are too technically written or being ignored at the music store when I ask questions...love this product and RUclips.
Jesus I can't believe there's a pedal for Green Onions. I gotta get me one of those. Also that maple fingerboard you're playing on is a thing of beauty
It was difficult to decide between the B9 and C9 ....I've been visiting these demo videos on RUclips for a number of years actually trying to figure out which of the two is best for me.....went with the C9 and I love it ..not disappointed but now the B9 makes more sense.
Two months ago I heard this pedal and commented that one day I'll own one. Today was that day, and I have to say I'm really glad I bought it. Got some really nice sounds out of it. Well worth every bit of the money. At least for me and my use. Thanks again for the awesome video / demo. Without hearing and seeing that, I would of never of bought it.
Bought mine the week they came out. Here is my setup. Hamer Duo-tone w/acoustic and electric outs. Run the electric out to my Marshall. Run the acoustic out to my B9. The B9 dry (acoustic) direct to my Fishman then to a channel on the PA, the wet (organ) sound to a different PA channel. I set the B9 pedal on a music stand so it was within my reach and I could control the Leslie speed (and other effects). I could control the volumes from either my guitar, or at the pedal or at the board and basically had an electric guitar, acoustic guitar or organ at my fingertips .... live. I turned my 3 PC. band into a 5 PC. band. I would typically start a song out simply with a single sound, say acoustic, slow mix in the electric and bring in the organ. The sound was awesome. And scenarios are endless. Often at the end of a song the band would look at each other and laugh.
if you reverse polarity of the neutron flow it will sound like a guitar? No but might sound pretty cool like you've doubled the amount of drawbars and stuck it through and extra rotary speaker.
I just bought the B9 pedal in Paris, France in the store "La Pédale" at the Pigalle place......... Just AWESOME !!!! Works better with a single coil pickups for me than humbuckers. I have a Fender Stratocaster Mex Vintage and a EVH Wolfgang STD. Both are awesome but it has a WAAAY better sounds with the Strat (imo), I just tested the pedal for like 1-2 hours on a little Mini Vox amp so I cant say much but, If you have a doubt, just go in a pedalstore and try it, a bit expansive (240€) but it worth it !!
Geeeeezzzzz......my dream has come true: playing a JS Bach sound on my guitar with the cathedral preset, what's more, Parallels by Yes could also be a possibility now within my grasp........must have!!
I'd love to see Electroharmonix take this amazing polyphonic pitch tracking technology to develop a programmable multi-effects pedalboard. You could have all the organ/piano/mellotron/synthesizer effects in one unit with greater tweakability of the parameters, individual signal chains for dry and wet sounds with sound processing (compression, distortion, delay and reverb) for each and the ability to save and recall patches and this would sell like hot cakes!
@EHX I'd love to see a roots/americana pedal in this series. Like a Roots 9, have it include harmonica, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, etc. I saw the demo to get that dirty blues harp sound, but that's a $1000 collection of pedals, including at least one that's been discontinued. As a blues and Americana guitarist, I'd jump all over a roots 9 type pedal! Definitely considering getting the entire series!
I’m usually quite analytical and take my time when it comes to buy pedals (especially at today’s prices). But I saw this bad boy for the first time on RUclips on Monday and by Wednesday I was standing in front of the counter at Rose Morris on Denmark St eagerly handing over £165 of my hard earned groats.Well done Harmonix you’ve delivered an absolute Jem with this!!!
My problem is which one?? They all seem so good...few years back i chose the other guys guitar synth with all the extra work of special pick ups on a dedicated guitar...its ok for studio but never going.to work live because of the ghost noises.....plus not all the sounds are good.....this and the others like it seem much more usable
Good job man. This shows you've worked out the very most likely settings a guitarist might use. Good typical part chords & solo on each setting. A simple straight walk thro' 'without' lots of ( I love the sound of my voice) nonsense. Yep enjoyed this post..a great job ! Best of the best I've seen, showin' clean & clear what EHX B9 is & does.
It would be cool to have the whole series of keyboard pedals in one machine, with presets that you could recall and perhaps the ability to plug in some expression pedals to control modulation parameters. The Mel9, Synth9, C9, B9 and Key9 are all really cool sounding pedals but I would need another pedal board for them all. If there was a pedal that had these all combined with some extra cool features in a compact format, I would be first in line to buy one.
Oh Bill. You son of a gun. You're good. I love EHX ! They really makes amazing legendary pedals that stand the test of time. I enjoy listening to these demonstrations, as long as Bill is playing on them. I have the C9 ,Lester K, and the Mel 9. Might as well add the B9 to the collection, It sounds great ! I like the how the lower strings come through, big, and clear. Yes, it works with Bass ! Sure, the '60's are over but that sound lives forever ! It can also be tweaked with other sounds and FX and fit into most any genre.
Excellent demo on this unbelievable pedal. I know that this one, amongst many others will be added to my addiction of pedals. I can see where it could really set you apart. Thanks for a fantastic job on this demo.
I love these things. Got to try one, right here in my own hovel ... sounded VERY cool.I just wish they would make a stereo out for the guitar sound.Run one of these into a NEO Ventilator and oh, the joy ... Woops, maybe they DO have the separate out!
+andrewt248 Correct, correct, correct...guitar and organ two very different instruments. Kinda think if you want to play an organ just buy one, at least a nice keyboard with lot's of organ presets...but what the heck, maybe you'd like your home organ to sound like a guitar? Then again it sure beats lugging a monster B-3 and Leslie speaker around (but stabbing your guitar with knives not going to be as memorable as Emerson stabbing his organ, and there might actually be blood!)! Accomplished guitarist though should get it without much trouble though, great organist can handle rhythmic duties on the pedals, and melodic lines on the keys. Rock me Bach!
Cool how there are so many recent replies. There must have been a review somewhere and it's bringing interest. I'm buying this today. Do you have one? How do you like it?
I love my B9 I play through 2 amps one for guitar one for effects at the same time better than a bass player more wider and interesting backgrounds great to create music I have a drummer and I sing and play it sounds like a band love I play clean guitar a nd with heavy overdrive great music tool I will add a K9 next
the real magic is its always in time with myself because I playing 2 things at da same time unreal less off time I may have 4 amps in this secret weapon creative tool
Can't wait for this! My god, the guitar world has needed this pedal for some time. Good job EHX! Awaiting an email telling me this is available... Card on the ready!
Ordered mine today from sweetwater.com! Can't wait to get this pedal! For anyone from New York, I called every ehx dealer in manhattan and none are available today. Jonesing for this pedal.
Oh man, I foresee many a stoned hour with guitar in hand and amp cranked with this sucker. Too cool!
HOLY CRAP. I was not prepared for how amazingly realistic this sounds. It doesn't hurt that the player clearly knows a thing or two about how keyboard instruments are played. Damn... when you stumble upon a video like this and get hooked... two days later I had it in my hands. Will play!
The real star is the dude on the axe, truly amazing talent
Chris Davies absolutely I bought one after seeing this video & I cant get it to sound like this guy. He’s amazing.
I'm a year into mine, and now I have gigs where I get hired strictly for my "organ playing"!!🤣
Have you played a Hockey Game yet? 😝
@@CorbCorbin notv yet, but the day is coming!
😂😂😂
😂🤣
That's hilarious.
1) Fat & Full 1:18
2) Jazz 1:48 / 2:13 with click
3) Gospel 3:07
4) Classic Rock 3:46
5) Bottom End 4:20
6) Octaves 4:52 / 7:31 with distortion
7) Cathedral 5:14
8) Continental 5:42
9) Bell Organ 6:51
Guitar + B9 mix 7:59 / 8:07 Dry guitar / 8:15 Guitar + B9
I love that EHX is willing to go out on a limb and make unusual things like this.
jesussssssss. just when I thought I was done buying pedals....
Thanks EH! haha
This Bill Ruppert is a fantastic player. I bet me playing this pedal wouldn't sound half as cool.
The great guitar playing makes the videos even more enjoyable!
Greatest product overview/tutorial ever. I like how they refer back to the instrument the pedal emulates and explain how it works. That is respectful. 4:51 that's it for me. That's the sound.
Holy s--t that sounds amazing! Pedal tech has sure improved since I was using them, it handles chords like a frickin' champ!
Wow, that tremolo setting with the cathedral organ preset would be perfect for playing Won't Get Fooled Again by The Who.
Thought the same
Outstanding!!! So so CLOSE to Leslie Organ tones. I want one!
I used to have a lot of money, but I took EHX straight into my face
this is one of the cooler guitar pedals out there.
Love it how classic rock sound is used in a baroque piece.
Two months ago I heard this pedal and commented that one day I'll own one. Today was that day, and I have to say I'm really glad I bought it. Got some really nice sounds out of it. Right guy and riffs for the demo that’s for sure.

The Cathedral mode will sound amazing with a 8 string guitar.
How a about a 12 string? Whoppee...!
Lord Goarmagon If you have one please demo it for us!
This thing kicks butt! I have been using Electro Harmonix pedals since the 70's. The guys nailed it! I want one.....
I really like it.
really sounds like the classic organ.
Youuuu guys are always one step ahead of everyone out there!
this is so insane
love it
Pretty impressive. Well done EHX!
Love the Classic Rock setting.
Totally blown away…!
This is one of the best produced demos I've seen…!
thanks for sharing
What would happen if i put my organ trough this pedal?!
if you reverse polarity of the neutron flow it will sound like a guitar? No but might sound pretty cool like you've doubled the amount of drawbars and stuck it through and extra rotary speaker.
If your organ can fit in a 1/4" jack, you've got bigger problems mate...
: )
That would be considered kinky.
It will have an organsm
Every part of this is brilliant. The gear, the playing, - everything!
I just bought the B9 pedal in Paris, France in the store "La Pédale" at the Pigalle place......... Just AWESOME !!!!

Just got one of these and it is amazing. These guys at Electro Harmonix really nailed so many of the essential rock Organ tones . . with warmth.
You guys over at Electro Harmonix are technology geniuses
Sounds amazing and looks really well thought out with the separate output jacks. I was blown away by the authenticity of the sound.
Geeeeezzzzz......my dream has come true: playing a JS Bach sound on my guitar with the cathedral preset, what's more, Parallels by Yes could also be a possibility now within my grasp........must have!!
Yes,YOU can !
Words can not explain how excited I am to get my hands on this pedal! HECK YEAH!!!
I'm sold.
I'm getting back into playing guitar. This is now a must have on my gear list.
I'm sold. I WANT ALL THE 9'S!!!
me too...
Probably the best part about this video is that the displays of each organ sound are musically appropriate.
I'd love to see Electroharmonix take this amazing polyphonic pitch tracking technology to develop a programmable multi-effects pedalboard. I love this and I'm buying one in a couple of weeks. I play in church sometimes and when the organist is away I can turn this B9 on!!!
Pure Genius! My next pedal!!
The mix of guitar signal and organ effect is incredible !!! I need one of these.
Now I can kick keyboardist ass out of my band!
Our roadies are gonna be stoked!
@EHX I'd love to see a roots/americana pedal in this series. Yeah, but it would pro'ly cost you a leg and an arm!
I've had a Casio Midi guitar for years which can play organ sounds of course, but this pedal is amazing. No tracking delay. Great sounds.
Yup. This is the one I want
Oh Bill. You son of a gun. You're good. I love EHX ! They really makes amazing legendary pedals that stand the test of time. 4:36 Green Eyed Lady ..was listening to it just this evening
Excellent demo on this unbelievable pedal. I know that this one, amongst many others will be added to my addiction of pedals. I can see where it could really set you apart. Thanks for a fantastic job on this demo.
Great green eyed lady demo
any guitar player who plays with another guitar player and/or piano player can now play the organ parts....Awesome!!!
Very cool. And your playing style is very cool, too! D’love to play that way.
This will be my first EHX pedal.... I can not live without it :D
I love these things. Got to try one, right here in my own hovel ... sounded VERY cool.I just wish they would make a stereo out for the guitar sound.Run one of these into a NEO Ventilator and oh, the joy ... Woops, maybe they DO have the separate out!
YES! I just ordered this without hesitation. Can't wait!
Now, to spend a couple years learning to play in the style of an organ player.
+andrewt248 Come on man! You mean you didn't play organ in church when you were little? For SHAME FOR SHAME!
+andrewt248 Years? Give me a couple days, lol. It really doesn't take much time to learn a style.
+andrewt248 Correct, correct, correct...guitar and organ two very different instruments. I like it a lot the fact that you can split the two and play it together is awesome!
I can't wait to get my tomorrow! For $200 CND used I am gonna try to learn The Doors songs like Ray Manzarek 🙏🏻❤️🔥
Brilliant. EHX nails it again. Gotta love these guys! Another definite must-have.
Mine came today. I'm a drummer,,,but I want my guitar 🎸 player to use this in my band.
This thing is absolutely amazing.
Cool how there are so many recent replies. There must have been a review somewhere and it's bringing interest. I'm buying this today. Do you have one? How do you like it?
I can't wait to distort it
Another excellent demo from Mr. Ruppert and another EHX pedal I must own.
It is an amazing pedal.
This is the 3rd time I watch this video... I cannot get over how incredible & realistic that pedal sounds
8:17 Sold! Must...buy...now.
Love it..coolest pedal I’ve seen in the last 20+ years
I love my B9 I play through 2 amps one for guitar one for effects at the same time better than a bass player more wider and interesting backgrounds great to create music I have a drummer and I sing and play it sounds like a band love I play clean guitar a nd with heavy overdrive great music tool I will add a K9 next

It's always a good idea to bring Rover to the show. 🐕
Can't wait for this! My god, the guitar world has needed this pedal for some time. Good job EHX! Awaiting an email telling me this is available... Card on the ready!
This pedal truly skips the light fandango.
CounterRevolutionary HAHAHA
Great sounding pedal by itself. Goodness knows what strange and wonderful sounds can be had if used with other effects.
This is how sell a pedal. I am sold for good and I’ll buying one soon 🤘🤘
What the... what.... what is this sorcery!?!? How the heck....?!? Totally blown away!!
Wow, amazing
VERY seldom will I sit through a product demo more than once.
But I watched this one three times in a row.
Damn you Bill, you made me buy this one and the Key 9; I may never play actual guitar again!!!
Excellent tone rendition, excellent demo - thanks!!
Killer pedal and as usual great song selection and playing. Bill is awesome!
I have no words, really. Fantastic.
Kick ass. Love new toys like this. 😘
This pedal is something else!!!!!!!! Fantastic and real sounding
Great vid! i used the C9 for giging! Deep Purple stuff is only the top of the Iceberg
the cathedral demo was just so unreal. what an awsome machine o.O
4:51
Wow. Sold! I used to use my Uni-Vibe to get this 'Honey' sound playing rhythm. Can't wait to experiment with both.
Is there a blog, forum, or website that provides a suggested setting using the B9 fir various classic rock songs?
Ordered mine today from sweetwater.com! Can't wait to get this pedal! For anyone from New York, I called every ehx dealer in manhattan and none are available today. Jonesing for this pedal.
