  • CZ 457 LRP ammo test - Cci Quiet 22lr 710 fps
since my wife's career change and working from home a lot of the time, I needed to explore my options for noise reduction. I live in Canada with some of the strictest gun control laws which prohibits the use and ownership of sound moderators and suppressors. so the only other option is quiet ammo. luckily there are a few out there starting with Cci quiet line of ammunition. in this video I test the accuracy and repeatability of this ammunition and see if its what I am looking for. find out if this is the ticket to quiet accurate shooting in this test video!

It has worked pretty well in a Henry for chipmunks in the back yard (~20yrds) and not annoying the neighbors. Interesting test!

That 710fps CCI ammo is like a whisper. I'll enjoy bagging the backyard groundhog this evening 🤝🤙

My take on CCI Quiet is that it is more of a 25-30 yard round for dispatching varmints at close range. It's just not accurate enough for 50+ yards shooting.

Out of my Lilja barreled 457 at 25y...I've gotten single shot groups as in 5 rounds on top of one another. Group size is just zero....but I've gotten 1" groups at 25y also.

A 0” group is the best I have never done it yet but hopefully one day I can show one in one of my videos

im interested to see how the semis go in a nice bolt, they are a much longer/heavier bullet set back further in the case and that rifle has a match chamber from memory.
you should take note of the ejected cases for marks and maybe just feed and eject a few before firing to see how tight they are, do you find many bullets touch the lands in the rifling with that gun?

I didn’t notice anything to different but the video goes live Sunday morning only thing I should have shot 20 foulers before starting because the last 3 groups got a lot better. I have 8 bricks of the stuff so maybe I’ll shoot a couple hundred and see what is possible

CCI quite shoting from my CZ455, it hit rabbits as far as 83 meters. The ballistics and standard 22LR correspond to a drop distance of about 230-250 meters. I would not recommend it for hunting.😓

Cool video, I'm exploring some subsonic rounds just to see how "shadow of the forest" mode i can go on squirrel hunts. I've been using short hunts as opportunities to practice my shooting skills

    • @BROTUNED

They are fairly accurate as long as you get close enough

@BROTUNED I look to shoot just inside 40, which I feel is fairly typical for squirrel. My only sort of hang-up is that I greatly prefer to have my ammunition hold within a quarter size grouping. I don't mind a grouping of somewhere between a quarter and half dollar, but I'm going for precise, neck shots, so I need reliable, consistent groups.

It’s not meant to be match grade. It’s a quiet ammo designed to get the neighbors cat. Definitely minute of cat!😂

Your welcome! I was hoping it would do better but unfortunately it did not. Next Sunday I have a video on the quiet semi auto coming out and it did way better needed a few more foulers I believe but the last few groups looked respectable for sure and hearing safe. Stay tuned!

Well, the accuracy problem is basically due to the fact that at best, the round was developed for 25 yds and less.

The CZ seems like a great option but even a Norinco looks expensive after the two weeks of badluck we got!

IMHO this ammo is for trench warfare against rats. Picked up a brick of this stuff and to be quite honest, it was horrible when fired from my rifles. I tried it in a Kimber, couple BSA, Anschutz, CZ, Browning, few Savages and a Ruger. Complete garbage in my book. Best group out at 50 was a dismal 1.75 inch.
