For our celebrations, our family decorates the table with pretty wrapping paper (roll it down the middle of the table and cellotape to the underside of the table), then clear cellophane over the top (cellotaped to the table). And there you have an inexpensive, wipeable, pretty table "cloth".
Will that Turkey feed 21 people
There's nothing wrong with not drinking alcohol. Better for your health.

I love the dishes you purchased for Thanksgiving. I am sure those who would have been the dishwashers, love them too. I can't believe how much the price has gone up for the smoked turkey. We had bacon and eggs for dinner tonight because I forgot to buy regular food! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
We are also hosting a large group this year for Christmas (28 Adults and 7 toddlers). Our dishwasher is out of order, so I have bought compostable plates and bowls and cups for the big day. These will go into our compost bin and hopefully break down to be used on our garden. So now all we have to do is pray for warm weather (we are in Australia) so we can all be outside. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
Nice to see if people are using disposable plates that compostable ones are being used. I am probably in the vast minority, however I am not a fan of buying disposable plates, cups and cutlery that likely won't be recycled at the garbage center, no matter how pretty they are. JMHO...

Can you show how you seat everyone for your Thanksgiving meal? Our house is about the same size as yours, only not as open, and I get super stressed about seating people for the big meal. However, I love having the family here! But it just always feels tight!

Word of warning for everyone: those disposable plates are not for hot foods if they have any metallic finishing on them. It's fine around the rim (dont get food on them) but not if printed on the middle of the plate. The heat will take it right off and you'll end up with metallic turkey.
Yep, discovered the smoked turkeys at Costco last year Thanksgiving... got it again this year, so good! And so easy too!

I was going to buy a smoked Turkey from Sam’s a club because we enjoyed it last year but the price was $3.50 a pound. Last year it was $2.50 a pound. We’re settling for a plain turkey for .49lb.
I paid .49cents a lb. We had Thanksgiving on Sat. because my son and his family were going to Florida. It was delicious. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃
Here 8n Australia Thanksgiving is not a holiday though many American friends celebrate BUT, they're going all out on Black Friday sales.

It's after 10 pm here but you're in between lunch and dinner time, so depending on which of those two your TG meal is, you may or may not have eaten it yet 🤔

What about the epiphany on the 6th and decorations can stay up till the 2nd of February the feast presentation of the Lord in the temple. Christmas starts on the 25th.

It is a smoked turkey. Not a frozen raw unseasoned turkey.
Dame thing here with forgetting to buy regular groceries... I was all about the Thanksgiving meal... which is just the 4 of us (we will take my mom dinner at her senior residence).
So... tonight is homemade mac and cheese with cut up all beef hotdogs! Pantry and freezer meal for the win! 😂 My teenagers think I'm the best! HA!

I went to COSTCO and purchased a pumpkin, and apple pie to save me a little time for the Thanksgiving meal.
I work at Costco....today is going to be insanely busy...funny side note a customer last week argued that we didn't have any pumpkin pies...l finally just said "ok" the customer is always right! Of course we have tons of pumpkin pie!
@@kristinaclark8307 Kristina, you're correct, they had tons of pies! In fact, an employee at the Costco I was at had a large cart full of your pies at a register. I believe a company purchased about 60 to 80 pies. Their purchase didn't even put a dent in the amount of pies Costco had. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Y'ALL. Your typical Advent calendar is December 1st through the 24th (if you're going by the four Sundays before this year it's the 4th-24th) and Christmas BEGINS on the 25th. Don't you sing the 12 Days of Christmas? That goes to January 6th, the celebration of the Epiphany; when the magi arrived to adore the Christ child! Don't let the consumer calendar dictate the celebration of the Nativity!!

In the Catholic faith we have advent 4 Sundays before Christmas to prepare our souls for the coming of our saviors birth.Christmas Day is the beginning we celebrate the 12 days of Christmas and the octave until candlemass feb. , I could never figure out why people take down their decorations so soon after the 25 th .the tree and the greens and lights , in the darkest of winter, the the lights should burn to show the light of Christ in the dark days of winter
I’m like you guys, I don’t drink alcohol, but l cook with it, the alcohol burns off, you can also now but very good non alcoholic wines, so now I just buy that for my cooking 😊
Recent studies show that not all the alcohol burns off. Might be something to think about

I LOVE the Costco smoked turkey. 100% worth it. We cook that with a smaller turkey cook America’s test kitchen style. It’s SO moist and the goal is like if yummy left overs for sandwiches and soup all week long. YUM!
