I never knew They were owned by Berol before. The berol style box is better because I’d use the box to store and use them whereas now, the tins and trays I don’t use. Such an informative video - thank you 🙏
I have some berol prismacolor, they are dreamy, buttery smooth and vibrant. My fave has always been Lavender (discontinued), True Green, and Carmine Red. I still use them, but sparingly because I don’t want to run out 😢
They still had the breakage. The cores were centered better. My originals are one of the treasures of my life. I get em out all the time and occasionally do some stuff with em.
Now it’s 2024. I picked up a prism premier pencil in hobby lobby and it was so thin I wouldn’t have been comfortable holding it for a long time. And the surface was not shiny paint like the berols. Just the size turned me off.
I own a set of prismas still made in the US but they have a Sanford stamp dated on 2004 and aren’t sharpened. To be honest I haven’t got to use them since my actual set made in Mexico still have a very long way to go.
Dam i just scored i got a 72 piece set all there .used some pencils but theyre all fairly new. Great condition 1996 box . From my girls dad basement he didnt want. And i also got some Prisma color pencils made from sanford
Score 👍👍 good quality supplies! They have gotten somewhat pricy over the years especially the older pencils (especially Berol before Sanford now Newell took over)
Thanks 🙏 they were originally made by eagle pencil company in the 1930s then later made separate Berol company for Prismacolor ! Lots of history haha 😂
Do you have any experience with Prismacolor pencils? Would you like to see them bring back the old formula?

Great video thanks, I recently bought a full 48 berol pack at a thrift store for 5$
You scored! A 48 pack of berol go for a $30-50 sometimes more depending on condition on ebay!
Nice set of the Berol pencils made in the USA 🇺🇸. I sold many of these while working knitting in the office supply business. Great review 👍🏻

They truly do not make them like they used too… 🥲

It's entirely possible that the old ones hardened over time.
