    LYRICS
When it rains, I feel better
When it rains, I feel better
And when I start to feel better
    I wait to get worse
When it rains, I feel better
When it rains, I feel better
And when I start to feel better
    I wait to get worse
    Honestly, I will be sincere
You're still holding me; you still hold me dear
And when my train comes, I will be listening
You're still holding me; you still hold me dear
    It's different now, as expected
Outside my window, right through the brick walls
Some will keep course without worrying
Along the sidewalk, close to the boulevard
    Honestly, I will be sincere
You're still holding me; you still hold me dear
And when my train comes, I will be listening
You're still holding me; you still hold me dear
They keep changing or maybe stay the same
Outside my window, right through the brick walls
I watched them give it up or simply take it back
Outside my window, right through the brick walls
Along the sidewalk, close to the boulevard
    Honestly, I will be sincere
You're still holding me; you still hold me dear
And when my train comes, I will be listening
You're still holding me; you still hold me dear
When it rains, I feel better

I just want to say that this band has been consistent since their inception 10 years ago. They haven't shuffled through 50 different guitarist. None of their members have been involved with some heroin scandal. They haven't changed their sound too drastically to upset fans, and their musical talent has only gotten better and more innovative with each album, each one improving on the last. The writing itself (lyrics) is always profound, metaphorical, heartfelt, poetic and inspirational. That's something you simply don't see with so many other metalcore bands. Most medalcore bands release like one good album and then the singer leaves, gets arrested or has to go to rehab. But not these guys. I still listen to a beautiful discord even.
I was diagnosed with schizophrenia a years ago. I've had to spend some time in the hospital. I have my good days and I have my bad days. This band and their music helps me deal with it. It drowns out negative delusions (mostly voices), and have made me realize that it is a gift just as much as a curse. This band rocks, never break up.

ForeverRepublic I know, right! Their new albums always bring something new to the table, but it's always recognizable as TDWP. Really love the sound, Mike's screaming and of course their lyrics.
I hope their music will keep helping you, whilst learning to deal with the stuff you're going through!

ForeverRepublic That's super deep man. Love hearing how music touches people, and I bet they would like to hear that too. Unfortunately two founding members are now gone, including the one who did the bulk of the songwriting, but the soul is still there. They're a great outfit.
Dead Throne and 8:18 are rife with sorrow and searching and resilience, I connected to them very deeply as I struggle with depression, so I feel you. Stay strong!

      @ForeverRepublic 9 лет назад +1

      Noxshus Thanks man.
Yeah, Chris will be missed. However, as long as Mike and Jeremy are in the band, then I will listen to them.
The drugs used to treat schizophrenia are often much worse than schizophrenia itself, at least from my experience. So I've learned to deal with it and take it as a gift. John Nash has a lot of good stuff to say about it.

The thing is, with TDWP, you can't even call them Metalcore anymore. They're their own genre. This song is beautiful. My favorite work of theirs by far. Such a great track and I'm sad to see Chris go, but atleast he ended it out with a bang. May not be the hardest instrumentally, or the heaviest, but this track sure is a fucking banger.

    • @gingersalerno8147

Alex King They dont have their own genre? They're scenecore they just didn't die for some reason. You're listening to regurgitated 2004 over and over. They just learned how to put a simple lead over chugs finally. WOW HOW BRILLIANT! LISTEN TO THE EMOTION!

Ginger Salerno I don't think you've ever picked this band apart. Or any band from 2004 because their genre got big like 5 years after that. That chug lead formula definitely exists in some of their stuff, but it hasn't been the staple of their sound for two albums and an ep now. Ever since zombie.

I AmCancerToSome they made this from scratch, as much as writing the song on the spot with no particular ideas in mind before hand, they rehearsed, and practiced and recorded it all in only 4 days for a single song. sounds like an achievement to me.

    • @IAmCancerToSome
      @IAmCancerToSome 9 лет назад +5

***** I am very well aware of that. I did watch their short documentary as well, but just because it was a bold or challenging move doesn't make the end result more impressive. Take (the In Flames album) Siren Charms for example. They did that album in 42 days and that album is including 13 songs in total. If you divide that, then it's not even enough for 3 days of recording for each song. And they only had a few ideas for some parts for some potential songs. But no vocal melodies, no lyrics or any other good structure. Does that make Siren Charms more impressive?

Much more of a 'natural' sounding recording, as opposed to the 'wall of sound' found on their recent full lengths. I think it works for a standalone single, but I hope that Space - EP sounds more like Dead Throne, 8:18 etc in terms of production.

This song just feels so amazing especially the lyrics with it. Even though it's repeated lines I still get the expression from the lyricist. Good job Mike! (If you written the lyrics yourself. I'm sure you did)
