Awesome, just like being there again. Ran into J.F. and crew in the paddock, super nice guys and I can't thank them enough for putting out videos like this, keep it up! My dad and I make an appearance @ 5:22 - 5:36:)
Absolutely brilliant camera work, gents! Thank you for the clear HD, wonderful sound and complete lack of music. You have truly proven yourselves to be auto purists!
Thank you Drive! These trackside videos are zeee best. Closest thing I have ever seen to actually being at the race. The sound blows away anything you hear on typical TV broadcasts. Pure track pron. I have to agree about the slow shutter speed experiment. I think you went a little too far with the slow shutter in an attempt to capture the essence of speed. Still, overall excellent camera angles guys.
Ran into Leo Parente there right after the ALMS race and told him that I love Drive. This feels like being there, except that some of the telephoto shots make the track look a lot tighter than it is.
Cool, I'm new getting into watching the whole professional racing thing, I even live in va and didn't know about this track. I thought we only had nascar.
It's the slow fps because from when they were shooting without the cars moving. As crappy as those shots are, give them some credit, it's a damn good video.
too bad there was no footage from Oak Tree, I guess it was too hard for the camera man to drive around to the otherside of the track. The acoustics of the cars going up the back straight were phenomenal, especially the Ferrari 458s.
There were some great shots that could have been shown, like why as there no oak tree shot. Or in the esses there was no shot of the cars getting airborne. I want to see fast cars on beautiful circuits, you can drop the fancy crap shots.
Gonna have to see if I can see myself in my gay, little blue photovest in this video somewhere. I met the videographer filming this while treking around T4.
Some of the lead up footage in the pits is cool, but 9 mins is way too long to wait for some racing action. Please focus more on the racing! Thanks ;-)
Some of the shots seem to be shot at a slower speed or something and it just makes the video look amateur-ish. If you guys are doing this on purpose please stop.
I didn't blink for 20 min..No words, just beautiful cars and incredible engine noise..Freakin' epic!! Thank you!
/Drive is one of the best automotive channels on RUclips. Thank you!
Awesome video. Really captured the feeling of seeing it in person.
Excellent video - really captures the spirit of race day!
great shots. i enjoyed the quiet at the beginning. gives a great sense of being... trackside.

I LOVE these trackside videos !
No commentary, just awesome video, love it!
the most beautiful sounds... almost put me to sleep...

Very nice coverage!
love this show 20 min is not enough
footage is super choppy for me too. does this have something to do with how recently it was uploaded?
is this the start of a new season of drive with the new segment "trackside"?
Why no coverage of the iconic Oak Tree turn? Kind makes the coverage of VIR incomplete.
No I think it has to do with how it was recorded. Maybe one of the cameras didn't have the correct settings.
I almost feel like it was a camera malfunction. As if the shutter were slightly slower than it ought to be. Just my two cents.

Those shots may not be done on purpose. It could be a small rendering glitch that slowed down some parts of the video.
I agree. I think Drive is fantastic and Trackside is awesome but the lack of footage from Oak Tree/South Paddock is disappointing.
is that helicopter a MD explorer?
Awesome footage! But that slower frame rate hurts my eyes, gives me a headache pretty quickly.
Nice shots.
No, they've done this 4-5 times now at different venues and racing series.
Ugh my favorite drive show -3
The crash at about 14:00
nobody comes to help?
Very nice video though, i love it.
why the hell is the footage so choppy?!
It's the slow fps because from when they were shooting without the cars moving.
As crappy as those shots are, give them some credit, it's a damn good video.
Shame about the frame issues, however still an awesome video!
I liked this.
in some spots the video seems to have some major frame drop for me
why is 2/5th of the footage of overweight americans in corvette shirts?
Is it just me or are the acoustics at VIR very good?
Must be the wide open fields.
awesome , thx /Drive !!
I've been there many times.
Agreed :) they should meet Top Gear and make a show together
That crash at 14:33, OMG!
That would be an awesome view for a bathroom, though!
12:55 i love this shot
that was the garage

the thing about the merger is who would want to watch 24 hours of daytona like thats nascar times 5
i am experiencing the same thing
The bathroom shot xD
6th???
Great footage but choppy fps taking away from y'all hard work, but made it feel like you was actually there
Idk man, there is a paper towel dispenser on the right hand side... I'm gonna keep saying it was a bathroom.
Awesome, but some of this looks like it was filmed on a web cam.

Then I'll take your word for it.
14:30 mark..... ouch!
Gonna have to see if I can see myself in my gay, little blue photovest in this video somewhere. I met the videographer filming this while treking around T4.

OMG it's an original, witty, and amusing first comment! (no sarc)
Ahh Farrah's second job as the Michelin man..
No, it is the best.
hold on give me a SECOND
9:21 was fullie sik.
That's why I thought it was awesome lol. Taking a piss then seeing 500 horsepower blast past you. That would be cool.
7:25 Swag

That's the last thing either program needs.

"Shots seem to be shot at a slower speed or something?" lol...Nah, they're just amateurs and their only lousy camera is broken...Sheesh........
