  • Work continues on the front of the house and removing the render. But to escape the winter sun, Michael also gets to work clearing out the steps and gutter behind the outbuildings--with some interesting finds!
    It's an absolute joy working on this renovation. We're forever uncovering new features and the history of these beautiful buildings. Thank you to everyone for following along with this incredible journey and for liking, commenting and subscribing!

    It’s always cool when you can hear an owl! I think your cat is the Inspector, hope you passed! I can see why you’re taking off the render, besides it being concrete, it just crumbles into dust. Outstanding work, sure looks nice, thank you.

    Hello there brother! I enjoy the progress videos but the evening shots with the lights in the background , the water falling, and the birds calling ( owls, loons? ) it’s a place where I’ve imagined being so many times in my life. Anyway, thanks for sharing and cheers 😎 Best wishes always, Moody.

      Thanks as always, Moody! 😊 The owls are just amazing. Often visit early evening. There's one that screeches as well... Think it's a tawny owl. Lovely to be sharing this with you. Thanks again!

    I think I’ve said similar before after one of your earlier videos, this property is stunning and has so many quirks and so much history. Your approach to it is ideal, careful and considered, it’s going to be stunning in a few years. I like your understated presentation too.

    So satisfying to see all the old stone coming back to life! I feel sorry for all the green plants that you have removed but totally understand the need to figure out what is underneath. I am curious, do the neighbors come by and chat with you? I am sure there's people in the surroundings that knew what was what in that house. Any hints from anybody? I think the owl is telling it is time to call it a day! Good grief. So much work. You must have an iron back! I would be sore all over! Love your videos, keep them coming. Thanks

    I just discovered you today and have made it to episode #21. You are doing a wonderful job with everything and I will be following you until you finish. Your place is beautiful. I really like how you give us some revealing of the brick and then go out to the garden and give us some of that, great mixture. I have a statement and question. Your episodes have all been good but for a while now they have become excellent. What has helped toward the improvement?

    • @PortugalonaPostcard

      Ah, thank you! I (Becci) was a complete novice when I started editing the videos so it's been a steep learning curve. Couldn't do it without Michael's creative angles and shots though 😊

    Those projecting stones with holes….are they originally to support vines? How does that work?

    • @PortugalonaPostcard
      @PortugalonaPostcard  7 месяцев назад

      They had sticks in them and then wire going from one to the next... We think this is what they were for as the vines are there but could be completely wrong 😅
