  • India's big cities are famous for their lively hustle and bustle. A documentary exploring beauty, justice, health and beer in India’s capital territory, Delhi.
Delhi has a population of almost twenty million, and to film-maker Markus Spieker it sometimes seems as if Delhi has twice as many stories to tell: stories ranging from the traditional to the modern, from happiness to misery. He takes the viewer into the heart of the Old Town and into the modern Cyberhub, into malodorous canteens and exclusive restaurants.
India is a country with incredible stories and huge contrasts. Metropolises like Delhi are growing at a tremendous rate. No matter how well you know the area, there is always something new to discover. As well as street cafés and exclusive restaurants, this documentary visits India’s biggest hospital and the practices of plastic surgeons, the "Kingdom of Dreams” and gloomy ghettos. We meet star chefs and street cooks who compete to see who can bake the best pita bread. We encounter cult dancers, hard rock fans of a different kind, and the world record holder in holding world records. This is a documentary film for those who like to marvel, smile, and enjoy.

What does it mean ? Can't India be Incredible? Why you use BUT, why ?
I strongly condemn this idea of European supremacy. They think they are the only incredible one. That's why they use BUT.

Pollution due to crackers is actually less than 1% not only on diwali, crackers are used during NEW YR too, i hate media when they target only one community and with no proper research.

BBC is laughing while discussing issues of India while DW is discussing issues and the solution as well. This is called reporting, everyone knows about the issues in society but we need to debate on solution in diverse society like india where a minor decision of particular group hurts others and DW accumulated all of them in this documentary. Thank you soo much for making this. 🙏

The British rule Hongkong is one of the most prosperous territory in the world with export more than that of India. Infact if the British continues to rule India till the 1980s, India would surpass China and even that of the western. It's the incapacity and incompetence legislative system in India which corrode the country.
Don't take that jackass Shashi Tharoor who blablabla India as the richest country in the medieval age, those wealth can be produced by a factory alone in today's world.
The world after wwii was devastation everywhere. Infact, Japan, Germany and many Parts of the world were built again from scratch,

Two of my biggest issues with India is poor infrastructure and lack of empathy from the government. Both issues are connected to each other. India has abundance of rainfall, so many rivers and a massive coastline. Yet some people have to struggle to get drinking water. Its mostly because government officials do not give two shits and the poor people are ignorant about rain water harvesting methods. Also, for a country that has historically revered its rivers, seeing the Yamuna (One of the holiest rivers in Hinduism) in such a polluted state aches my heart.

Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE and all the rich gulf countries are clean too.
