I’ve watched this video so many times, but I just now felt the need to comment. This video is genuinely so well edited I’m actually blown away. The music queues, the camera angles during the cinematic moments, and the added effects. I imagine it took a very long time to create and it shows. You did a amazing job!

To make it easy, I hit my start/stop record button whenever we wipe. Makes for SUPER easy editing. Course my editing skills are not... well not this level.
REAL TALK Not only do all your cooldowns come up during that part, but you also miss Chaos Thrust if you're even 0.5 seconds late on your GCDs! You have to weave constantly during the adjustment period for dropping the stars, and if anyone pulled early you can kiss that downtime DOT goodbye :/
Normally as a SAM I gotta reapply my dot as I'm dropping the puddle and then drag my slowed ass back up to the tanks for that delicious uptime. Just barely make it usually.

And when I got fed up with it and did the sad opener we'd get the clear. My static was comfortably ahead on DPS too so it wouldn't actually matter either way, it just cursed our runs whenever I tried it.
Doing Savage, Extreme and Ultimate content is a very odd thing. It's painful, stressful, agonizing but when you see all the progress come together it's a thrilling feeling.
What gives me chills (no pun intended) is how well the song fits. Not just the boss, but the player themselves. "Eyes filled with tears/ Her song in my ears" Just oof. 🥴
The fact you timed the Akh Morn's to the music makes his all the more amazing. I absolutely cannot imagine the amount of hours spent editing this to get it just right.
This is a masterpiece and will forever remind me of the days of when I experienced all these moments. The hours of screaming, the many days of light rampant progression, and the months of repetitive deaths to Akh Morn. Truly a grand display of all our struggles, thank you.
I remember a guy I knew saying something like: "our WoL is so powerful that we had to hold back our power!" regarding this fight, because of one of the dialogue options we get. After seeing this video I'm convinced that that option was there just to poke fun at all cocky WoLs underestimating this fight lol.
I dropped my phone at the part where Bahamut comes through the door, á la 'the Shining'! Had to restart the vid and keep watching after I stopped laughing so hard 😂

My group took a good couple months on this. I think in the 200-300 pull range if not more. It was really brutal especially of course Light Rampant when we decided to revise strats and reverse prog from adds - but worth it in the end to make the mechanic a little more simplified to do repeatedly. I *feel* this struggle in the compilation haha. So many little gotchas like the knockback vs slide method for mirrors or the Akh Mourn swaps or even just forgetting your debuff timer (was pretty good at remembering that part). Really felt earned when our group cleared, for sure. Light Rampant still PTSD though.
I know I'm late to the party but I'm finally learning savages and am currently learning this fight and I'm having a great time. I laughed at these videos months ago but now I genuinely get excited when the same chaos happens to my prog. It's like secondhand starstruck like "Oh I remember this wipe! 🤩". And it inspires me to get through it just like you did. I just finished tonight's prog lesson as noct ast. Thanks for all your fun videos. It's great to finally experience it all for myself, if even a watered down version with echo. 😄 I've been passing this around to let my friends know what I'm learning. I'm gonna try to finish at least this one before I can't be the shielder anymore. (and because I want that edenchoir weapon glam....)

As an ex-WoW hardcore main tank. FFXIV raiding and trials is like constantly progressing on Azshara mythic. Every damm mechanic is punished with a one-shot and it's either a wild guess or algebra mathematics on how mechanics work.
That's what I hate about most MMOs. At least the story dungeon mechanics kinda make sense or can be figured out. Though once you get to savage and such in FFXIV, good luck without a guide and minmaxing. Great story at least, but the mechanics of some raids can be cancer
So the first one of these I saw was e9s after joining a static and was like "Yes, this is exactly how it's been going" and then saw this recommended. This is not only memetastic, but shows a story of growth and I fucking love this.
I like how after situations like 4:12, fanbase still madly in love with this game and truly adore developers. Not sure if most of fanbase even complete "Light Rampart" though, and they just don't care about such holes in game logic.
This was fkn glorious. I have this fight with everything I have. But I will never get old of watching the suffering montages. Its a bittersweet nostalgia.

I watched this video with fond memories of horror and chills. There were so many times my grp almost rage quit because of Rampart lol. So when we won and looking back at these is like filling fine wine and slowly drinking it down. Never again, but still always in our hearts lol
It's... not for the faint of heart, that's for sure. I only just tried it for the first time and cleared E5S and E6S a couple months ago. Farmed them for a bit then took several months of break because it's so damn stressful. But with this next patch I'm jumping right back in. Idk if I should laugh or cry tbh
Not gonna lie, the process and funny/stupid ways you can kill your friends in raid is part of the draw for me aside from the sort of team triumph once it’s dead. Highly recommend giving it a go someday (especially with friends if possible), and I’ve heard that the first couple of floors are super accessible now if you ever want to get your feet wet!
