Even if ppl didn't consider The Grid as a new world, it was my favorite one. It just made me realize how awesome 3DS graphics were. It almost felt like I was playing a PS2 game when I was in this world. Would've been cooler to explore the city like it appeared in the movie and meet Gem.
RedBlueGiG i disagree. The grid has poor level design and is far too big. We shouldn't have to go in circles, im not saying be overly linear but thisworlds layoutbdidn't have any real focus it seems. Its quite evident considering the large areas with no identifiable buildings or landmarks and even the color scheme making everything look the same that you can forget about not getting lost at points. The mobs/nightmares were also really cheap in The Grid, though that applies to the whole game. The boss fights suck, especially Rinzler who is basically a "guard and counterattack a thon" instead of an actual boss. His boss theme sucks too, it sounds epic until you realize that it the same mediocre orchestras on a constant loop with no substance. Gigabyte mantis was just cheap. At least Space Paranoid bosses were mostly well designed compared to this. The only track i think the grid does better is the ambient music. The grid has terrible battle music, space paranoids music for when you fought enemies was way better and catchier. I do give props for the grid having a better light cycle mini game, i just wish it was longer.
Why was so surprising to be feeling like playing a PS2 game? Graphic wise, 3DS could easily replicate the Playstation 2 graphics, it had great mechanics for a console at that time.
I believe Maleficient said the word "Hell" right before you fight her as Aqua. But she said that in the movie, so I was kind of glad they didn't change it.
This was a fun world. I kept getting confused on which direction I was supposed to go in, I think, the Terminal. This world and Traverse Town are my favorite worlds for this game. Least favorite was Fantasia because it was way too frustrating for me lol
I never would have known how awesome this music really was without the HD remaster. I could barely hear the audio from this level on the 3ds version, all I could hear were the beeping sounds. I wasn't a headphone user either, so I wouldn't know how it sounded with headphones. But the PS4 version helped show me how great this music is.
while i agree i really enjoy how yoko managed to capture the essence of the original 1982 soundtrack from the film, i wonder if wendy carlos has heard yoko's music and what she thinks of yoko's renditions of her work.
I was definitely letdown by how Space Paranoids sounded like when I played KH2 recently (especially that battle theme), from its music to the world's layout (why is the digital space so devoid of floating stuff to jump on?) Played DDD recently and gosh I love The Grid so much more than it, they absolutely nailed the digital art direction big time here
so much better than the music in space paranoid. while the music in that world sounded weird, with the immediate word that comes to mind for me being battery acid, this is actually such a jam. I mean, I guess that theme adds its own eerie atmosphere, but I'd much rather be bopping my head the entire time while exploring than a mysterious atmosphere, unless it's like a really important and serious area (which this isn't)
I didn’t know Tron Legacy was composed by daft punk. I’d like to think the composers did a good enough job at imitating them but it still feels original.
Riku: "My clothes, is this World special?" (Looks up.) "A Dream Eater! No, let's see how this plays out." (The Recognizer lands and the guards approach Riku.) Guard: "Another stray." (They try to apprehend Riku thinking he's a Program, but he resists. He then boards the Recognizer and it takes off. He is then introduced to a fellow prisoner.) Prisoner: "Are you a prisoner?" Riku: "Yeah, looks that way." Prisoner: "Name's Sam." Riku: "I'm Riku. Where are we, Sam?" Sam: "....We're on The Grid."
When I went to Tron's world, I was hoping space paranoids wouldn't be there, or atleast had a huge improvement. And I was definetly not looking forward for the battle music. Turns out this game's Tron overwhelmed me with awesomeness ^.^
I wish The Grid was a proper follow up to Space Paranoids plot wise instead of an entirely separate world. Like keep the film plot for the world but twist it to fit KH's plot Example: Say Kevin Flynn worked as a special computer research department for Ansem or was brought in by The Restoration Committee (Leon & Co) to help maintain data on Ansem's Research. Flynn creates CLU to help Tron and upgrades Space Paranoids to The Grid. But at some point, Xehanort gets his hands on the data and CLU and corrupts him to help work with Organization XIII which also basically results in a plot adjacent to Tron Legacy.
By any chance, is there an exact song from the film's score that influenced this track? Or was it basically just an original composition they created for the game's world? I'd appreciate if somebody could answer. Either way, it's a fantastic track in the game.
Something that always bothered me was how out of place the Grid felt. By that I mean, all the worlds, the Disney worlds I mean, seemed to take place in rather historical or historical fantastical settings like Notre dame sat in like I dunno 19th or 18th France? I stink at history I know, but I think you can see what I'm coming from. Notre Dame, Prankster's Paradise, The Land of Musketeers, and...uh ), fantastia..?, were all set in post 21st century times, compared to the Grid which is a digital domain and is set in a computer or something else I need to watch the movie again, but it was set in the 21st century. It's like Deep Space in birth by sleep, half the games worlds take place in somewhat medieval times with the exception of Neverland considering England is there you just couldn't go there in that game. My point is while Kingdom Hearts 3 fixes this issue and I hope 4 does the same since apparently Star Wars is showing up, but would really appreciate it if balanced the worlds a little bit more because having the grid in the middle of 4 other non technological advanced worlds feels VERY random.
The music and light bike is better in The Grid than Space Paranoids, but I'd still say Space Paranoids is the better world overall. The Grid was really empty, long, and boring by comparison, and it didn't go as crazy with the theming.
@ARWINGx1 sorry for not answering sooner. the thong about the game it the control. i cant tell u how many tomes i died because of it. but all in all it would make a good consule game no?
To be honest? You kinda have to watch both Tron and Tron: Legacy to really understand what's going on in this world, but on the whole this world's story doesn't have much of anything to do with the plot beyond Sora remembering Tron from Space Paranoids.
Yeah, but just like GunZ, those "advanced techniques" will make it a pain in the a** to hit them -_- At least when I get to the higher lvls. & like I said before, if I had the option to buy the clothes permanently instead of "Renting" (Unless they're like the PEN weapons, that they'll disappear after using them for a certain amount of time, which it should've been in all games when buying Time Limited items)

@@boyishdude1234 I'll take that over BBS' level design

@@DannielSquall100 that’s what they’re saying, bro
fangirled so much that tron legacy appeared in kingdom hearts 3d 8DDD
So... DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD?
I hope we get more sci-fi themed worlds in future games. These tracks are great.
I like how they went with a different approach for this song. It makes it much more fitting for "The Grid".
As a software engineer, this is one of my favorite game ost
Wow I'm actually trying to find my first job in the field myself at the moment. Respect.
1:37 is epic!
This is probably one of my favorite musical pieces from the world of Kingdom Hearts so far hehe.
I believe Maleficient said the word "Hell" right before you fight her as Aqua. But she said that in the movie, so I was kind of glad they didn't change it.

The Autism Detector that means it has poor level design. The grid is far too big for its own good.
@@boyishdude1234 Congrats, I don't think this person really cared
Yeah I got so lost
With a new Tron movie on the horizon
I hope that in future games we'll see this world again

Played the entire game on 3DS with headphones. The sound is definitely awesome, but the basic hardware doesn't makes it justice.
I player the 3DS version with headphones and the music sounded awsome.
It did sound better playing on the PS4 though but not that much.
Playing Melody of Memory along with hearing the music from 3D and using Raiku and the Dream Eaters makes me wanna play DDD HD again xD
Aside from Traverse Town, The Grid was done really well :D
0:09, 0:32 (listen to the background notes that later take over at 0:49, love it) and of course 1:37! Great track!
This game's ost is too good. This song is easily top 5 in this ost
I hung out in this world too much
Way too much
The two save files I had from my completed run were almost always in this area
This theme is my favorite of all time
I forgot about this soundtrack until I got melody of memories and enjoyed the heckk outta this level :D
I for some reason remember soras running tempo being in sync with this theme
Tron Legacy baby, YEAH
I think this level is one of the best levels in the franchise and better than the movie itself.
no need to fucking lie, now
@AT Productions As good as at least, imo
@@kenshin6553 That's fair, the Tron franchise is super underrated, I wish we could get a 3rd film, or another show, or ANYTHING really.
Love the beeping part lol and the synth-y part is the cherry on top
So, so much better than Space Paranoids
47 not the battle music though. Space paranoids has better battle music.
Idk, but Space Paranoids means so much to me, which is why I think its better than this. This aint bad tho

I don't think so but it would help.
Sora's story seems to focus on the rise and fall of Rinzler and Riku's story follows the plot of the movie.
I could hear it just fine in game, along with all the other songs.
This world is so huge
I didn’t know Tron Legacy was composed by daft punk. I’d like to think the composers did a good enough job at imitating them but it still feels original.
This reminds me of megaman battle network! ahhh, good times!
Man this is amazing
This is BOP!!!
prefer this music for this world than the kh2 honestly.
I've always thought End of Line would be awesome as BG music
Indeed.
Never knew this song was so good. I could never hear it because the game's audio is so damn soft.
best area here
Riku: "My clothes, is this World special?" (Looks up.) "A Dream Eater! No, let's see how this plays out." (The Recognizer lands and the guards approach Riku.) Guard: "Another stray." is it me or do i hear the Hymn of the Fayth in here? LOL
No characters from TRON in Melody of Memory.
Watching the gameplay of Sora and Riku being in The Grid, makes me feel I want to go too!!!
if you really want to understand that world better, than yes
Kingdom Hearts is Golden
This one always gives me PS1 soundtrack vibes

It seems to be an original composition because they couldnt get the rights to Daft Punk's musical score from the film as far as I'm aware.
Though if I had to pick a song that most influenced the Grid's songs it would be Derezzed and The Armory.
Access the roach
yeah it would. and oddly enough my screen name was Tron777. S4 was a good game :D
A theme when Sora meets Hackers
Kinda reminds me of Digital Devil Saga 2 :D
this world is definitely my least favorite in the whole game but the tracks are ironically some of the ones i like most
The same can be said about the actual movie
This Soundtrack = S4 League Main Menu theme :)
WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF TOMORROW!
Yeah, since S4 League's supposed to be a digital sport, I thought that this would fit in with the game :)
Theme 11:Raining Red
ishimoto's the guy to go to when you want half of a track. god i wish there was a melody
this song is absolutely fine as is without a driving melody, what are you even talking about
Ishimoto loves making a single phrase and repeat it the whole song lmao

AWEREW YU A PRIIISSONER TOO?!?!
They should have done a remix of End of Line.
Yes, it would have been extremely fucking awesome if Daft Punk had helped with the music for The Grid

Ok but on the real, Tron Riku > Tron Sora
What genre of music is this?
SERIOUSLY :D ?
Give me Deus Ex vibe.
Deltarune chapter 2 anyone?
meh it sounds almost exactly like daft punk dude, i bought the soundtrack and listen to it everyday, this sounds exactly like daft punk
LuiBei1994 Tron Legacy, the film that the Grid is based on, was soundtracked by Daft Punk.
Am I the only one that thinks that this sounds a it Ratchet and Clank-y?
Is this phonk?
definitely not. it's electronic music with synthwave.
Better than Space Paranoids
This sounds nothing like Tr2n's soundtrack.... Did Shimomura even listen to Daft Punk's score?
+JohnCaseyCB Maybe she didn't want to ? She was inspired by the game, not by the movie.
Lautael Inspired...by the game? The crappy tie-in game that got absolutely horrible reviews and was effectively bought by no one?
JohnCaseyCB Inspired by KH 3D ...

I don't see what doesn't make sense.
Yeah, the part when you get to the techno city right?
