@@Bravidunno the whole section that starts in 1:20 has the leitmotif of one part of dark impetus, YOU ARE FREAKING RIGHT!!! This soundtrack always surprises me
Easily much prefer this to Sacred Moon. This is so much... I don't know, "heavier", everything holds more weight to me and still perfectly fits with TWTNW.
This theme really represents Sora’s side of TWTNW as the point of no return. Sora knows what he’s getting himself into but he can’t do anything to prevent himself from falling into the abyss

Nah I disagree Sacred Moon is much better for me and more fitting to This world. I guess they both depend on the context of the game they are in but Sacred Moon has the main melody giving the sense of something sacred/mysterious having been discovered combined with what sounds like the cries or prayers of nobodies in the background. The atmosphere is just perfectly suited to the world. This one is too melodramatic that I dont think it represents the world itself but more the story climax incoming.
Personally, I feel Sacred Moon is a reflection of the Nobodies as we understood them from what we were told earlier on in Days and 2. Beings that "acted" emotional but were cold and empty inside, almost robotically serving their master Xemnas, only remembering the emotions they lost and somewhere deep down knowing they needed to be whole, even if they couldn't feel it. Granted, Nobodies _can_ feel and grow new hearts from what we know now, but back then, all we had was what we were told, and the fact that it didn't quite match up if we read between the lines via Days. Meanwhile, Sacred Distance is what the Nobodies really are. Cold and empty but not emotionless, if anything tormented over what they are and what they have become. Roxas, Axel, and (if you even count her as a Nobody, though really, she isn't) Xion were outliers, having some spark of positivity with each-other to look forward to. Meanwhile, all the rest were either floundering in their own emptiness, or even ignoring it and planning their own goals and agendas, but all tainted by said nothingness nonetheless. That, in tandem with the fact that this world is where the trap is sprung on Sora and he is sent into a dark abyss of his own, not quite nothingness but still cast down sort-of like how the Nobodies were... ... Well, if you ask me, both fit but for different reasons. Sacred Moon is the song of emptiness, calculated planning and methodical, robotic work. Sacred Distance is the song of loss and pain, and of teetering on the brink of the abyss.
It sounds so mystic and emotional in the same Time. It suits the World that Never was perfectly. Gives you the Feeling your in the Void and at the same time you can feel the tragic in it what most of the Organisation Members really are. Also it says your clearly near the Final Battle!
This music makes me think. I am walking, physics is messing up around me. I feel light-headed, sleepy, and fall asleep. But I was already asleep and dreaming, and thus forms a dream within a dream. Physics screws up worse and worse, rain goes upwards, Buildings on the ground are upside. Aeroplanes are underground. Gravity shifts as I walk. . . and this keeps on happening until eventually the result is so chaotic I fall into complete oblivion. . .
Wow, I think you captured the essence of the world that never was perfectly. I'd about expect things like that to happen in a place that wasn't meant to exist.
Yes. It is the desolation of the Grave, the emptiness of a Darkness damaged heart, and the Abyss. Also, Sora's care for those lost to Darkness in destroying him.
Dearly Beloved - the starting song of every game Keyblade Graveyard - the place master Xehanort (old) really seems to like to go to Given the context that sora was gonna be a xehanort, this is basically Xehanort on the starting screen of a KH game, because it's *his* turn to play as / use Sora. I just started learning how to meditate. This music is perfect for it. Also, The World That Never Was is by far my favorite world in all the games it is in.
I didnt realize until now but In some parts of this song you can hear "dearly beloved" the main menu screen In every kingdom hearts game that's actually so cool
An apt description for this song would be something like... Wandering in a city of nothingness, lost and alone. A place where my dreams are my only company, even though they do not truly exist. Is there an end? Was there even a beginning? All I know is the path forward keeps going. Essentially, lost in a world of lies filled with figments of distorted reality
This is probably my favorite track in all the Kingdom Hearts games. It just has that ominous, sad feeling to it. The piano is just absolutely perfect. I hope they include this in later games.

the feeling i got when first stepping foot into this world is similar to the feeling i got when the mystic music started up and the words "escape the castle" flashed on the screen in 358/2 , something i cant quite describe , yet those two gameplay segments give me the same exact feeling
Gravity is falling and I can't step upright... Infinity and Oblivion clash and I can no longer breathe... The exact opposite of Dearly Beloved except for one thing: they're both beautiful...
Looking back this track this has a more mystic feeling when you're going through this world for the first time since it's the organization's world you don't expect stuff like actual buildings that bend and stuff it's shame that this world is kind of short when you're playing as Sora cuz it is a great final area
Honestly, I think this is the best song in the OST. And maybe not only in DDD, but of the whole franchise. That piano in the middle that sounds like "Dearly Beloved"... it gives me chills! Think about it. It describes the perfect scene for Sora. The song is like madness, like it has no end to that greif, that nightmare. And the "Dearly Beloved" piano, you notice it has a variation from the original? I like to think it's Sora curving away to the darkness... Thank you, Yoko, Takeharu and Tsuyoshi.
Perfectly captures the feeling that something bad is going to happen but you dont know exactly what or why its going to or who is doing it. It has a sinister but at the same time saddening "tone"?
It's basically the now empty world that holds all the tragic figments of those connected to Sora. The viola part especially makes me think of the fates of Terra, Ventus, and Aqua.
As the world starts to crack, Light shall fall with Darkness replacing it's call. A sacred moon looming over a cold forgotten and rotting city. A castle to refuge sinners without Hearts. Love, Anger, Hate and Joy is left forgotten in this world until the day the moon shines bright and replaces Darkness with Light. For now we wait, in this endless slumber with only Hearts to satisfy our hunger. Kingdom Hearts...... may your blessed Light shine over us until the day comes for us to have Hearts.
