I have always been an outdoor gardener, but after losing my husband shortly before Covid I became the crazy plant lady with hundreds of indoor plants. What AJ said about finding a focus to put your love really resonated with me. My two goofy dogs and the education, focus, and acquisition of my plants kept me going through Covid at that time in my life. Plants truly have healing powers, no doubt about it.
You two are just so delightful… more please!
Jan I support everything you do. I got really excited when you mentioned Craig Milran because he is really great. I would love to see you do semething with him. A tour of his home or a visit to to somewhere etc... Another planty person I love to follow is Summer Rayne Oakes . Also please do not interrupt Aj this much.
Edit away Jan! We are here for you two. Love the connection you have and how you’re such good friends. We need good friends in life. What would we do without them. Glad you two met and have such a connection in plants. Besides, think of all we can learn from you two. I was just baking away, making bagels and sour dough bread and thoroughly enjoying listening to you two.

Definitely do a part 2. I liked your comment about people telling you to take cuttings from botanical gardens. My daughter and her boyfriend went to the Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens in San Marino, CA last week. My daughter read on the website that you are not allowed to bring any gardening tools in the gardens! So people helping themselves can be a real problem.
YES! Perfect for doing household chores that I hate: combining it with something I love. ❤ From Belgium!
A.J. I also took my medication, but I'm still a windmill on speed with the attention span of a gnat.
My plants help me so much. I have been working on my mental health for decades, but since 2018 it all took a dive after my divorce. I am on medication and go to behavioural therapy and trauma therapy weekly. I cannot work and rarely leave the house because I suffer from extreme anxiety with multiple panic attacks throughout the day. Going to the sessions alone is a form of exposure therapy for me, as I have cancelled so many sessions in the recent past. So since a month or two, every time I have to battle extra hard to make it to therapy, I reward myself with a new plant. If I can't find a plant that speaks to me, I just browse and treat myself to a cappuccino in the café.
I love the forest, but need to live in the city because that's where all my doctors are and I can't drive. So I fill my flat with plants to bring the forest into my home. My mood and my resilience have increased significantly with all that green in my home. Caring for my plants is also very grounding during dissociative episodes. Plants are life, in so many more ways than one.

I absolutely LOVED this and wish I was longer! I was doing house chores so it was the perfect thing to listen to as I was working! I love both of your insight as a plant business and hobbyists! It’s very interesting! Love it! I love the “Two peas in a pot” but it should have 2 t’s lol! Can’t wait for part 2!! Woo!!

Cute episode. I would enjoy a road trip episode to another side of Australia with the both of you guys. I totally want some hummus, olives, nuts and celery and peanut butter now too. This episode makes me reminisce my times with old friends. So true for the haters in all industries, I am dealing with 2 annoying ones.

51:09 I can relate sooo much with what you said about mental / emotional wellbeing and plants.
Sometimes it is just the right distraction from what's going on in your life. Maybe it's easier at times, to care for another living organism, than for yourself. And it is just so calming to get your hands in soil 🤗
+ every new emerging leaf gives me a dopamin boost 😄
