I would but and cut the back floor if you overlap it could cause moisture and rot out or if you can make a flange on the existing floor then put the new floor on top anything is better than swiss cheese great video good info I've got patch panels from danchuk that came with my car I've got very little rust just the front floors and right behind the front seat its almost just were someone spilled pop or something and left it wet thank you for sharing just one more step closer to driving them one day 👍
Cut some 3” x 3” sheet metal plates. Drill holes to weld through. Weld plates on then butt panel to it , hope you drilled holes. Weld the plugs. Then weld seams. Or if you have Cleco’s use them.
I try to be there when I can, life has put a detour in my plans.. so got to juggle it. But I love helping Jerry.. we always have fun and pic on the rust queen
Yeah I'm with Andrew, while I do like the 57 if I had my rathers then I'd rather see the Duster and I think the Queen has done a great job. Keep up the good work.
I guess that''s why you are called MostlymoparIH, lol. Yes, Queenie has done an awesome job on the Duster. Happy to have her help. Thanks for stopping in!
Thanks for sharing and for visiting my channel.. Returning Support with Full View and Like.. Hope your weekend is going well... Sure hope you let you wife know how much you Love her lol.. She's One in a Million..
Hey Man I always love the video's! Yeah Vern was moving likely story! Queenie is a hard worker and does a great job! Them braces at the bottom of the firewall need to stay just like that! They get sandwiched between the outer rocker and the inner rocker! That is what gives your firewall structure and makes them rigid! The firewall also has a thing called a pedestal that goes on top of the floor on each side. You probably noticed them when you took the floor out! The connect on tje lower corner of the firewall inside and weld around the body brace bolt hole. All this gives the firewall strength to stand strong and keep straight! The back wheel well is rusted where the inner and out wheel well attach! So I would patch the inside first tgen go to the wheel well and patch the outer wheel well from outside. Not sure but it looks like someone poured rubber on the wheel well that's not stock! The rear floor can be welded either way! I would cut straight across it once all the floor is in place and but weld it up! Have a good one Buddy 👍
Thanks for the info, Don. That brace is welded at the top to both the inner and outer rocker panels. Will leave it and put it all back as I found it. Lots of welding to do on this before I put in the pan. Will keep at it as the 57 gets me excited!
Thanks for the info, Don. That brace is welded to the inner and outer rocker at the top. Guess I'll go back the same way. Cutting out the rust as I find it. No need to rush through. Will get there eventually!
So you are not loving our singing? Lol. We learned from the alley cats that hang out around here. We appreciate you stopping in Leonard and leaving us a comment too!
Mike says... the floor panel and rocker panel fit together and the floor panel should rise where those pieces are you think might need cut. Universal repair edge with the fingers can help fill in or make up any corner like that if needed. Weld...Then glass over it real nice.
I see you and the crew have been busy little beavers. I will give you one piece of advice, don't give up your day job for a singing career. I have made some progress with my health. After several tests and an outpatient procedure all the test have come back without any sign of cancer. That being said I an about to talk to the surgeon I have been going to about getting on the surgical schedule to have a section of my colon removed where the diverticulitis is. Well give my regards to the crew and keep the videos coming
Busy, busy. I have no day job now, Jerry. Thought I would try singing but maybe that's not a good idea, lol. Very happy to hear you are cancer free. I am sure the surgery will go well. Hope Jackie is well too. You guys are awesome!
Thanks for the advise. I'm thinking the same. Lapping the old floor for an couple of inches will give the new floor good support. Planning on any fishing videos this summer?
@@indyme2 I don't know if I'll have time. Setting up a saw mill set up for a Woodmizer LT15 sawmill I bought at a friends house. Have to clear and level 100 x 200 ft area and build a mill shed for it and a tool shed also.Might have time to do some trout fishing in the spring,If I do I'll video it.
