For the rest of your days on that property you're gonna feel a sense of pride wherever you look. You can't beat standing somewhere and thinking "I did that"
...with the help of a lot of really fine Italian craftsmen!
I can't agree more than this first comment. Even the kids would be proud. If it was my place I would try and keep it the family for generations to come❤. Stunning in every way 🎉 Busting your nut is going to pay off 😊. What a privilege to come along for the journey ❤
I’ll officially miss these guys when this is done. They will likely miss you guys too. Prob they rarely have a client bust buns and learn so fast and do so well - I love y’all’s channel. I just love it. Thank you. I visit links and such to help! ❤🎉
Definitely 😢
Well the good news is it'll be done someday the bad news is it won't be. This is the kind of building that is really never finished
Couldn’t agree more
I feel like even if they finish the house they will continue as business to renovate other houses😅😅😅
I'm sure they will be good friends invited to the housewarming party!
Bradly you are amazing! You make the Americans so proud. Those Italian men are true artists and incredible men and make me proud to be Italian. Everything is so beautiful and so well built and thought out God Bless you all
Hi gang!!
Amazingly well made videos, very interesting to see all different handling of stone. Is it mainly granit?
And,you Bradley, have sort of becoming one of da gang over time, which is truly inspairing to see!!
So glad to see dis video, but what's happening wiv yer visa? Are you getting a permanent licence to live in Italy? Last time it was sort of hither and dither, regarding the different levels of communal levels...Hope it have level out in yer favour....
Anyway,the Newbury's are soon building,also a stone house,as u prolly knew...
Anyway, thanks for imaculate videos from auld swedish mikke, still on,and work, at da greek island karpathos another ten days or so....👍
Lavoro bene!!
Italians are naturally good at art and design. You are blessed to have great Italian builders to help you build your dream home.
It seems to nonprofesdionals)
Hello to both of you, I admire your work and your tenacity. I am French, my first name is Thierry. I have been following you now from the beginning. I take great pleasure in looking at you. I am also restoring two ruined buildings, a house and a small barn, located in Corrèze. I think this is the reason why I get so much pleasure from watching you episode after episode, it makes me think about the work I am going to undertake. I wanted to share this with you to thank you for your good humor, your kindness, the magnificent landscapes that surround you and of course for your video sharing. Kind regards, Thierry and good luck for the rest of the work. A French hello to the entire team of Italian masons who are accompanying you on this site.
Great video. It is an honor to watch Master Craftsmen performing their skills. Beautiful
It is always a pleasure to watch these Italian guys. Their oldschooled skilled way to work brings a huge charme in this house.
The craftsmen working on your house are so talented. It's cool that they let you learn with them.
I am exhausted watching all of you. Brad I think you might qualify as an official Italian Artisan at this point. I’m secretly happy that this is such a long process because I love viewing each week. Motto Bene!
It’s really coming together! All that slow, back-breaking work at the beginning has turned into a whirlwind of activity here in the middle! So much is getting done so quickly and it’s starting to look like a house that people could actually live in! I’m so happy for you all!
Sunday reveals are so exciting! Many congratulations to the Entire team and family for the beautiful construction and vision . It must be equally exciting for the people in town to look up and see the transformation and enlargement of your stone house.
Brady and Heather, using the natural materials from your property to build your home, could be fodder for a documentary, a memoir, a book for those wanting to consider such an undertaking in various places around the globe.
The comradely, the excellence in working as a team and Brady, your inquisitive mind and honoring of each builder and their skills, has been the binder for this incredible project. Heather's multifaceted contributions beautifully balance, nurture, record and encapsulate the excitement and details of the stone house. Having the children add their names to the floating stairs was such a special way to incorporate and recognize the girls!!! Love this!!
What a beautiful comment. Bless your heart.❤
Yes to the skylights!! Your spaces would do so well with more natural light coming from above. Even using Sun tunnels would have such an amazing effect.
What are sun tunnels?
@@pmgranaIf I'm right, they make a smaller window in the roof and connect via a tube to an opening in the ceiling. The light from outside is directed through the tube/ tunnel with the use of mirrors. Not sure this would work here because of space needed for the tunnel.
..also the wall between the bathroom & stairwell could have been a window half-way up to the ceiling ...that would have allowed natural LIGHT to pass through to the stairwell as well as the bathroom & still maintain privacy1
The view and the sound of those church bells alone make this an AWESOME NUMBER ONE PRIME location but the details you and your team are creating is just amazing!
You are learning so much from these workers. From rock designs to making stairs to making platforms to shoring up walls. It’s unbelievable how much time they spend and I think they’re happy with your performance too. You doing a great job and from my point of view, I’m proud of you, you learn right on the job and you grabbing it full horns. Houses really looking beautiful and you’re gonna be so happy when it’s done.❤
Thank you all. I have really enjoyed seeing the stone work being done. My ancestors were Italian , and they brought these skills with them to USA. It is nice to see it being done by skilled stone masters.
When you first started talking about this home I was “All In”. The dream is unfolding w/ Artisians & the entire Family involved!! So Beautiful🙏🙏🙏Blessing’s
Wish that you would go to two videos a week. This journey is so exciting💙
I don’t know what I love more, your bad Italian, or their bad English! But what I do know is that they both give me a little faith in humanity! 👍🏻👍🏻
I am loving what I see. You've managed to merge the new with the old. BRAVO. MOLTO BENE!
something that will stay in your mind:”molto bene brady molto bravo!” :)
its so funny that your crew keep simple Italian words when speaking with you. the best way that I have learned multiple languages is during construction . some words may be bad but a lot of good words. and knowing the crew you are working with is no words at all, just gestures and you know what needs to be done. shout out to Heather! good to see you smile :) shout out from ohio
The view, the church bells and the beautiful stone house is enchanting
I absolutely admire your patience and resolution. It is a precious example for unconscious cosuming community in this century. Unfortunately our focusing time decrease increadible, our life purpose command by social expectension. But your life style give a hope for chancing my life. I wish you all lifetime happiness.
I also want peace in the middle east, but this is not a political program- it is just about a family building their home. Please respect that. BTW, guys - you all work so hard, enjoy your coffee! Greetings from an American expat in Spain.
Finally Im gere. I have binge watching your videos for about 2 months, right from the beginning and I finally caught up with them... Im loving the whole thing. The house is starting to come together and it looks so beautiful. It's going to be amazing.
It's been so fascinating watching i maestri at their craft. I'm just blown away by their talent and the beautiful result. Tell them they can make more money if they open their own channel. I could watch them for hours...❤❤❤
you two have such great energy -- by that I mean VIBE ... not just physical endurance ....
I'm so impressed that u are able to communicate with your contractors in Italian!! People don't understand that other languages don't have confusing words like concrete instead of cement!!! Both words mean the same, English is so complicated! I , like others will miss these contractors they are a delight to watch!
Concrete is a mixture of cement powder, gravel, sand and water.
Cement is just the powdered ingredient in the mix.
We do have different words for cement and concrete in Italian (cemento/calcestruzzo). We also have different names for different kinds of cement and cement mixes...
Hej i Italien! Ni har en otrolig arbetsmoral👍 Huset kommer bli perfekt. Vilken underbar plats att bo på. Jag ser fram emot er nästa video Lycka till med allt ni gör! Med hälsning från Sverige😀
Great another fantastic vid on the craftsmanship of building a beautiful stone house 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Well Lad, you work hard and know when to stand back and watch n learn. Well done you.
So happy that you went with this option for extending your home. It will have a beautiful flow inside and outside with the mountain. So nice that you added your names to the stairs. I hope you added the year - its a great way for future generations to know the history of that home. Our neighbors were removing brick from their house for a reno and found a leather wallet with a photo of the builders and a date of construction. They were in awe to put names, faces and year attached to who built their 105yr old home. They then went to city archives, found a pic of area from that time to hang in their home in honor of the men who built their today home. History connecting 2024.
So COOL! ☺👍...wonder if that was on purpose or a happy accident ...also wonder if there was any old money in the wallet?
That's a Yes for the skylight ! Gentle rain on a skylight with a crackling fire somewhere else in the house - is just home. What a beautiful life you're making for your little family, with purpose and generosity..
No puede quedarse nada más viendo el también tiene que trabajar , felicidades han trabajado tanto y están logrando hacer un hermoso hogar !!
Brady what I think what would be lovely to do is make a plaque once the builds are finished and have the crews name on it and date you started and ended in honour of their craft and labour. What skill they have. You have all worked so hard and a lot of it has been intensive. I have never seen such a lovely crew, full of humour and so friendly. Have a lovely day.
Great idea....
Working with that view is not a hardship! Wow!
Love watching these craftsmen at work. And Brady, the skills you have mastered and your dedication and hard work are beyond impressive!
Years ago we spent a week in the hills of Florence 18:56 with a friend whose farmhouse had recently been totally renovated by locals. She was giving all of them an elaborate sit down dinner in gratitude. Watching this video I can understand why. These workers are true artisans.
I would LOVE to see Brady & Heather throw a party for these craftsmen!!
Along with the blessing of the house with bread and wine (& a pinch of salt?) ...
I think it's expected to throw a party for the builders (re-builders)!! 😉☺🥰
You have amazing local craftmen with so much talent. All credit to their abilities.
Whoop-Whoop 👏🏻👏🏻. I am so glad to see your new video. SUPER EXCITING! Thanks for the updates. Greatings to the girls. I'm still missing them. ❤ Bradley, you are an amazing hard worker. You trying so hard and working just as hard as the builders. Great job! Greatings Melinda from South-Africa 👋🏻.
Ps can't wait to see the end results.
Yay stairs will be up soon . Things are progressing very quickly now. Loved watching 😘
Things are moving at a great speed now - exciting times - so happy for you guys 😊
I look forward to your videos every week, thank you 🙏🏼 ❤ Much love 🇨🇦❤️🥰😊
It has been a pleasure to watch the progress and I have been watching from the beginning. I want to share my grandfather was Italian and a mason and watch the things he built. It has been fun and brings back memories when I was a child and watching him work. My grandfather brought his talents to America that he learned from his father. Many blessings to you and your family.❤
Wow, really beautiful progress every week now. So happy for you all❤❤
Bradey, Heather, Alexa, Chloe your home is coming together. I like the local workers are teaching you how to do the stonework that has been passed down for centuries. God bless you Bradey, Heather, Alexa, Chloe God bless the local workers God bless their Family's. See you on the next video.
Watching this I finally realized how the whole concrete staircase is connected top to bottom, because of gap at the bottom of the boards which allows the flow but it never runs off the plywood. Very clever. More power!
Enjoying my morning’s coffe watching you guys. Priceless!!!😉
I’ve been following since day one of this project.if nothing else you will certainly be fit and toughened up.an absolutely incredible amount of hard labour.
In our country the stairs are built in that floating way, the balconies too, for millennia, even the ancient Romans did it, the city blocks in which we live are made that way.
Such wonderful workmanship
Must be vey wealthy to afford all this work and supplies and workers!!!! Will so beautiful when completed and knowing how much blood sweat you put into the project. You can be very proud….
Designed beautifully! It's a fairy tell home.
Much respect I can't believe how difficult stonework is but so gorgeous it is your vision is finally coming to life quickly and I can't stop watching now best wishes to much enjoyment there soon...well deserved
Great progress again!! Also a big thank you for 'collecting' the sounds of the church bells of the village on the other side of the valley. In my youth we went on holidays to many villages besides the Italian lakes in Lombardia and I instantly recognized it. Such a beautiful and authentic sound! Grazie mille!
Amazing. From the beginning to now. Blood sweat & tears. Well done you all xx
Truly masters of their trade‼️
They are amazing and such nice men‼️ l am so glad you found these talented men to help with the renovation‼️
I got a Waterdrop countertop unit when you introduced it to us last...and I love it. It makes my "Grandma 2-room Suite" into the perfect little kitchen area and replaces two separate units. Thank you! I love what is happening with your stone house and enjoy every episode!
...we already have a water purifier, but will look into it when the time is right.
It amazing to see the master builders at work! And I love seeing the girls too! Your home is transforming beautifully!
I love watching the skill and craftsmanship ,centuries old techniques! I think back with the girls picking up rocks and now seeing their room come to life! Can't wait for more 🎉
To save on bags of soil, fill your containers with any wood pieces, and limbs you find in your yard, and any large garden debris, plastic containers, cardboard, and any other non Hazard items you may have that can help fill the containers before adding your soil.
Plastic containers? Really?
I love that your family signed the concrete steps, because even though that part will be covered by stone, you've "made your mark"! ❤
Looking at the house from the side where the addition is located, it appears that these guys are doing a much better job than the originals laborers. These guys are artists ❗Bravo 👏
Really starting to take shape folks and looks awesome, when the house is done and you’re ready to relax you are going to have the most beautiful view and beautiful house. U2 work so hard you deserve it.
You really have hit the jackpot with your team
of craftsmen.
I can really start to see the house vision now! The scenery is simply gorgeous!
My guess is that these master stone masons have never had a client like Brady, who works as hard as they themselves!
It took me 16 minutes to click the link and I look at it as a wasted 16 minutes. Thank you very much for sharing this journey you’re on.
Your video is the first video that I look forward to seeing every Sunday. Great job everyone!🦋
You are so lucky to have such wonderful artists ❤
I do think adding skylights is a very good idea. Really impressive workmanship by all concerned. 😊
Things are moving fast!!! Love watching everyone working as a team.
I really enjoy watching how you're building everything. I honestly would have never thought that watching concrete being poured and walls being built would be entertaining, but it is!
I love watching these guys. They are such great craftsmen! They should have their own RUclips channel.
Just seeing the work happening inside the house on this video made me realize how far you have come. It seemed like for weeks and weeks you were drilling and tearing up the floors and now it's all coming together so beautifully. I couldn't picture it in my head but it obvious the both of you had such an amazing vision for this house. Congrats
You have to be nuts to take on a project like this. I realize he is doing it as a job but its a crazy amount of work
Every house in italy is built like that, what's so incredible?
These craftsmen are stonework gods!
What a great vlog! With today’s technology and tools, there is no replacement for a hammer and manpower. As a teacher, some students would tell me that they didn’t need math. Really! Look and listen to Brady, he uses math all day long.👏👏👏
Been following your Italian journey since day 1 , love the progress that's been made and the craftsmanship of the local Builders, the patience taken to shape each stone is a long process but attention to detail is phenomenal .... Good luck in the future with whatever it may hold ,ill be tuning in 👌🏻😎🏴
I coukdnt imagine doing this hard labor this 67yr old brick layer does 😊he is so gifted and does amazing work 👏 may the good lord continue to bless you Sir with good health, strength, wealth and happiness 😊 I'm subscribed and love watching the journey this lovely family is on ❤
I’m so glad you have professionals there helping now.
If you add a pergola on top of the terrace you could grow grapes and squash etc for shade during the summers double purpose addition
Amazing! I admit that I would have gone “cheap” with a sturdy wooden staircase.
Wow! What a wonderful job you are doing! It's nice to see all your beutiful family participating in the work on what will be a truly, special home. Congratulations to you all.
It's true that we Italians always and only say "cement". In fact the exact word when the concrete is reinforced is "calcestruzzo". But to shorten we prefer to just say cement. Ciao everyone and thank you so' much for your fantastic videos.
One thing I love about your channel is these videos make me feel good. You guys seem genuinely grateful, pleasant to be around, and I enjoy watching the progress you are making on your new home and all your wonderful tradespeople. I wish you all the very best with your home and your new lives in Italy. Glad you've found a special spot there.
Bravissimo!!! Wow! As ALWAYS, I am so impressed by your unstinting work ethic; ALL OF YOU! Please pass along our regards to your fabulous work crew!!! We LOVE them!
Oficially ur turnning to be italians, they speak with their hands and you guys are doing too and very well, cheers, from venezuela, margarita island in south america.
Several years ago we built a large retaining wall, half of which was curved and made with very large boulders, and backed with concrete and the other half, poured, and faced, with rock. We mixed all our concrete and mortar in a mixer just like you are doing, and every day, worked from 7am until 2 pm u til it got too hot for three months before we were finished. I am enjoying your much larger project, and it’s,being back memories of that build,of,ours, which was really fun.
Pretty impressive work getting done!!! 🥰🎶❤️🎶🏡🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
How exciting to see the stairs go in! The calculations right must have been so intense. Love that the girls signed them. I look forward every week to see your progression. My family and I were just in beautiful Italy and what a spectacular place to live! 😊🌸🇮🇹
Great job Bradey! Love the floating staircase to the terrace and once they are completed with the stone work, they will be not only functional, but stunningly beautiful! Thanks for sharing. Mark, Kiel, Wisconsin USA.
“Sit back and learn” nah- you guys are hands on always😂
So exciting to see everything come together for your new home! 🌟
It’s all looking so wonderful ,you sure will miss those guys when it’s all finished.take care.
Where I come from, a floating stairs refers to stairs with no risers, just spaces. We would call this a solid stairs. Brilliant work ongoing as always and kudos to your work ethic and that of the stonemasons!
I really like that heather is always smiling, she's full of positivity
Thank you Emily!!! That means a lot ❤️
YES!!! ...those girls are so fortunate to have such a cheerful positive Mom like Heather ...& I'm sure Brady adores her also!
I want you guys every week, what an exciting journey, cherish the moments as one day and I’ll be done
I'm so happy to see the progress, you have worked so hard! 😊
One day when this is all done, would love to see the town you always show in the distance! So satisfying to see you guys achieve each accomplishment.
This is the coolest and most fascinating project I've ever seen and I feel so privileged that you have shared it with us. I think I'm almost as excited as you are to see it finished and and to see you move in and I hope you'll continue your story even after that because I've grown fond of your family through your videos. I had no idea that's how floating stairs were done! It's something I've actually always wondered, lol, as strange as that may seem. The progress you've made in the last couple months has been remarkable!
The amount of "cement" you have all hand mixed and carted around leaves me amazed every time. These videos make me wistful for my younger days when I was involved in team projects knowing the end results would be special.
