- Great to see the nice weather starting to come along, had some beautiful views to enjoy on this ride , had to escape out on the big bikes for some off road fun again , was nice to get out for a ride with Kev on his new husky 701 enduro having not seen him for a while. The 690 has been in for some work and has come back feeling real good to ride again , smooth and ready for some more adventures . happy days

Love the video. Great scenery and quiet. A question if I may: that’s a Nomad tower I think. I’ve just bought a 690 in the US for a ride next year on the TAT. How is the tower for wind protection and noise?

The tower is from rade garage , its been on the bike for a few years and I can't fault it, I find it great at motorway speeds and the wind and noise doesn't bother me more than any other bike really . Good bit of kit.

Thanks juls , no didn't see anyone there , no problems at all, farmer in the video was a wrong turning i took trying to follow my garmin, but he was really nice and helpful, yes kev has got the dongle . Let me know when your up for a spin next 👍

Great vid. What quick fix did Kev do to get the Husky going again. I’ll look in to the dongle for mine.
Thanks , it was only key's 2nd ride on the bike so he was a bit confused as to what was going on, but fortunately it had happened to mine before in the past so was confident we could get it going by wiggling the sidestand back and fore.
He has bought the sidestand bypass dongle now. It does take that worry away , however must be careful to remember to check your sidestand is up before riding off as with the dongle fitted she will keep running even if the sidestand is down and in gear.
Did the 701 have a side stand sensor issue? I’m working on tucking that away where it’s safe and putting in a door jam switch, on the kick stand, that actuates a red light on the dash. The light won’t go off until I put the stand up.
Yes it did , it was cutting out when trying to select a gear , it was only key's 2nd ride on the 701 so I think it was a bit of a surprise as to what was going on for him , however , I'd had it happen on my 690 a couple of times before getting the bypass dongle, i was confident it would come back on with a bit of wiggling about of the sidestand. The bypass dongle Is great but as you say a light on the dash is a good safety precaution as with the dongle the bike doesn't cut out when selecting a gear anymore , even if the sidestand is down. .Good idea 👍
@@myktmadventures The Dongle is a bandage and temporary solution. I’m hoping my warning light will be all the reminder I need.
