Ok...couple of thoughts here: first Mike...LOVE LOVE LOVE your vids! More power to YOU for your sponsorships and for taking the time out to teach people such as myself how to build cool things. Just awesome and kind of you. Second: don't you just love that SOME of the people below who parrot the negative but don't stop to think that taking virgin wood from an already burnt out, nutrient deficient, toxic environment that the forest is becoming is somehow ecologically friendly but using up the waste that we are spilling into our oceans and landfills is not? When you try to do something good and others have negative NON CONSTRUCTIVE criticism it makes THEM look petty, gasping at straws in order to make themselves look good. Nice job, that looks like a great, different version of a normal planter. It’s cool you did it for Ben, I started watching his home build up in JT since it in our backyard! Really great job!
Composite decking is far from green. Not renewable, and especially all the micro plastic produced by cutting it with a saw. Even with good dust collection, saw dust goes everywhere. You got played by HD on this one.

To those who say it’s not ecological, can I see some of your planter or green work? He made a box to grow plants in what looks like a tough environment, which is likely more than anything y’all haters have done. Maybe this new year stop putting down people who dedicate tons of time and effort to make content for others to enjoy. Great job Mike!
Love the channel and the creativity/ingenuity of your projects. Question - Is the composite lumber and construction adhesive safe to use in raised garden beds with edible plants (Would these leach harmful chemicals into the soil over time)? Thanks for all the great content.
It's RUclips, it doesn't matter as long as someone is making money Now go eat toxic veggies with the "self watering water .. that you have to turn on manually to water the plants"

Hello Mike, My name is Chandler McCraw. I am a Boy Scout in Troop 9 out of Spartanburg, South Carolina. I would like to build a greenhouse similar to the one you created in the video you uploaded in 2017. I would like to make that exact greenhouse. However, I can no longer find the plans on Ryobi Nation. I was hoping you could assist me and send me the list of materials, list of tools required, and instructions for somebody with little woodwork experience. I pray you can help me achieve my goals of becoming an Eagle Scout. Thank you. All the best, Chandler McCraw P.S. Please like this so Mike can see it!

Lets get it right this guy is likely earning $1M plus a year and doesn't need sponsors to do this, he is just greedy. Idk if you figured it out by now but I’d recommend a sander (orbital or 1/4 sheet), a drill, drill bit set, a saw (circular or miter), and then safety wear like glasses and gloves, but I think it depends on the type of things you plan on building.
The boards are 5.25 inches wide so you've got 0 25 inch to spare. The real question is how are you joining boards that are 15/16 inch thick with screws that are 3/4 inch long.

Great ideas and I like your enthusiasm but I do not like how industry’s “green” marketing or labelling cons those who are well intentioned but uniformed. “Green” is far too an ambiguous label to have any real meaning to those who are serious about doing what’s right for people and planet and only serves to confuse issues. How much “ green-ness” is there in a project like this where fake wood using glues and plastic materials that are the result of environmentally unfriendly processes and long term impacts ( what “ green” contributions or damage arises from the eventual disposal of these products? Are the glues used toxin free and will they leach into the soils? I wouldn’t eat anything out of that container . Your buddy’s project raises similar concerns; I follow you both. Good luck but be careful about how commercial interests use you to falsely promote the environmental credibility of their products.
I don't get how these are environmentally friendly. I mean it's a cool project, but it becomes stupid when it's being sold under this "green" package. step one of conservation is to REDUCE, and most of this stuff is unnecessary, and therefore not environmentally friendly. Also, all the chemicals and processed materials ......
Dustin Hill - I appreciate the time you took in posting a comment in relation to this video, but I find the rhetoric extremely flawed, and quite offensive to the creator of the content. If composite wood is made from x% of recycled material, could that not make it potentially eco friendly (i.e. recycled wood and recycled polymers)? Also, if composite material will last say 3 times or more, the life of pressure treated material, is that not more sustainable, in that one is using “less” material? I have grown extremely tired of people using either derogatory language to state their opinion or jumping to a quick conclusion to submit a post without any attempt to seek further knowledge or understanding. Further, where is the conscientious dialogue between viewers and producers of content on RUclips? It should not be to tear down, but rather to build up through balanced discord. I have no problem with conflicting points of view and constructive criticism, but labeling something as “Stupid” without a sensible argument seems, well, ignorant. If you took the time to Review the product page of Armorguard composites you might have found some interesting data with regard to longevity via the manufacturer’s estimated warranty, or might have considered the fact that traditional wood products over a 20 year time horizon would require chemical treatment to maintain longevity (most harmful to the environment). Curious to understand the factual information to support your claim of stupid? Thanks
