I'm 45 hours in to Elden Ring and just now fighting Rennala. The end is nowhere near in sight. Which is both good and bad. Bad because I can't dedicate the time to play Triangle Strategy. And good because more Elden Ring for the foreseeable future. Too many games. Not enough time.
Amazing game, and great video. Although I have to disagree on the title being really bad. On the surface and before you play it, it would seem so. But actually, the entire game has a focus on "triangles" and the "political power struggle/strategy" between the three kingdoms. Not only do Glenbrook, Aesfrost, and Hyzante geographically form a triangle, they each also each have their pulls and pushes in the political struggle, making the back and forth truly a "triangle strategy." And not to mention the scales of conviction, and most of the late-game decisions being a three-way fork. Thanks for the review as always!
I feel you. I'm at the final boss of Elden Ring so I should be done with that today. But I still gotta finish Horizon and that Valhalla DLC just came out and Final Fantasy comes out tonight and Anno Mutationem comes out in a few days. Plus I'm still chipping away at SRW30 so even playing a SRPG. And Relayer, Rune Factory and Ghostwire still come out later this month. Having a backlog isn't anything new for me but this month is rough. All that being said, I'll probably still end up buying this game in the coming weeks...
I still didn't finish Pokemon Arceus which released in January. That is the fate of people who game on multiple platforms and that this beginning of this year is filled with nothing but RPGs which are long games.
I took a break from Elden Ring to play this. So glad I did, I'm loving it. Only complaints I have is that i wish they had the character profile attached to the speech bubbles, the character designs are amazing. I also wish you could bring more characters into battle. The roster is pretty large
I'd like to hear some better title suggestions, as stuff like Generic Fantasy Word + Tactics is the staple name format of the genre and I don't think that is any better
Was worried hearing it was inspired heavily by FFT and Tactics Ogre since their combat is so glacial, but this seems decently paced. Wish Squeenix would cool it with these timed exclusivities for every other title. ~3~
I really love the story so far, combat are great but not that much interesting compared to the story. I don't see the point to use those recruitable characters, the main team is pretty balanced. And ressources to upgrades characters are kinda low in quantity.
is not Great is Good some ppl definitely not going to like this heavy text Tactical Rpg. but for me this is what i want been waiting for this type games for sooo long!! im still not happy on some parts of story like how d hwell Roland End like that feel so half ask and i feel so terrible now for hated him..and Serenoa last minute new plot added feel unesesery he already good and i alwasy though Benedict is the father lol even now im still convinced id care xd
Ummm... how many games have you played whose titles actually told you something about the game? Because most game titles are completely meaningless. Some examples: 'Final Fantasy' tells you nothing about gameplay or plot, the game is probably not final since it's a long-running series, and many of the more recent games ae more sci-fi than fantasy. 'Fire Emblem' just sounds like another name for a fire symbol, an outsider has no way of knowing that it refers to an object, and even if you HAVE played another game in the series, odds are the Emblem is now a completely different object and have a completely different impact on the story. Heck, sometimes the object in question barely even matters. 'Super Smash Bros.' is not a story about brothers, and sounds like a mario game but (mostly) isn't. Most people not familiar with 'The Legend of Zelda' think the series' protagonist is named Zelda. Because why would you name the franchise after someone who isn't the protagonist? And don't even get me started on 'Kingdom Hearts'. Not only is the name completely meaningless, it refers to a plot element that barely features in the games and doesn't even get mentioned or even hinted at until the final boss of the first game. And most of the side games have subtitles that are even more ridiculous and even less connected to the plot or gameplay. In conclusion, Triangle Strategy is a perfectly fine name.
This game is shockingly good. I haven't been this absorbed in a video game in years.
Good to know. The only SRPG I’ve played is fire emblem and this game has peaked my interest
I love how it quietly says "a terrible name for a great game" in the beginning LOL
We’re so subtle
@@NoisyPixelNews you mean you're so subtitle

I'm 110 hours into Elden Ring and I won't be putting it down anytime soon. The game is HUGE.
Elden Ring is quite possibly the greatest game in existence. Do finish it.

I really wish I had time for this game. Too many good releases this quarter.
Same!
Buy it next quarter

You can press a button to bring it up inbetween their speech. I want to say it was y?
@@TMHTNN its x
The triangle I'm sure has to do with the way the kingdoms are set on the map
I will wait til it comes to steam like octopath traveler
I’ll check this out. Could never really get in to tactical based games.
Very easy mode for the win!!
I think the name is perfect
Thanks for the review

Ok but consider just calling it Scales of Conviction
Brilliant game with a great story!
Why does Octopath Traveler get a pass for its silly name but Triangle Strategy doesn't?

Maybe it's the 3 main houses

yea, a bunch of us are having a lot of fun with this.
I hate tactical/turn based/strategy type games but this looks really good however I'm 44 with 3 young children so I'm out! Great review 👍
What does that have to do with anything?
@@Palidor obviously you don't have kids
@@cedric1138 No I mean, that would mean you cant make time for any game at all.
@@Palidor It means they probably have time for quick in and out games, not anything requiring an extended playtime.
I refuse to play a game with that name xd

I can't... I know that's the artstyle, but just look soo ugly and outdated ;/
God, this game looks fucking ugly!
Omg you're so edgy and different.
True.
