    I just watched all seven of these,very nice job. These videos really give the viewer a good sense of the conditions of the route. Looks like you timed it well and avoided the monsoon season. I'm thinking of doing all or part of this BDR this spring so thanks for taking the time and effort to produce these. This looks like a perfect ride for a KLR!!

      t8erzandcheez I’m glad you enjoyed them. It was a definitely a great ride. The KLR’s did amazing. I’m planing on doing the COBDR this Summer we’ll see how they do up there soon. We went the last couple of days of May and the first of June. The snow had finally melted enough they opened the last of the roads. We had some afternoon mountain showers but nothing bad. Took us 6 full days, the first and last day were pretty much half days. Hope you have a great time and have good weather.

      I think you'll fin CO a little more crowded than NM but should be a great ride nonetheless. I'm sure the KLR's will do great, good luck!

      t8erzandcheez I’m afraid of that. Me and my family went to that area for years and have been all over the Ouray area in the early July. It is always a mad house. I’m hoping later in July it won’t be as bad. I’m NM we only saw a hand full of people the hole week. Was super nice. Thanks and good luck to you too.

    Awesome videos. I haven't seen anything on them that my V-strom couldn't handle.

      Roger Clark there shouldn’t be anything undoable. There are a couple of places that may push the suspension pretty hard but definitely doable. Just be sure you have a good skid plate and crash bars. All of which came in handy a few times. Thanks for enjoying my videos. We’re doing the COBDR this summer. Should have videos up first part of August 2018.

    I'm guessing the river wouldn't be that high in mid September. Saw in the comment below it was early June so you were ahead of the monsoons.

      Yes we were ahead of the monsoon session but only by a little bit. Most of the water we had was from snow melt.

    I think my KTM 1090r could do this BDR with no problem. Thx for the excellent videos of the entire route.

      ktm trailrider a little sand around the missile range but not to bad, the sand after Grants may give you some trouble but the rest should be good.

    Did you pass any small creeks in the Jemez area (last stretch on the way to Cuba) that looked like good fishing? Looking to combine some riding with some fly fishing

      I don’t remember any before Cuba. I do remember tons and tons of sand in that area though. I’ll have to go back and see if there were any I forgot on my previous video. Lol

    Thinking of doing the NMBDR solo on an Africa Twin... I have done the COBDR (not solo).... Are there any sections on the NMBDR as hard as Ophir Pass on the COBDR?

    • @KJ03Adventure
      @KJ03Adventure  4 года назад +1

      DansADV The expert section after Chloride Canyon is pretty rocky but nothing like Ophir. The only real hard part for me was the sand from Grants to Abiquiu. That section was pretty long, there was a some that you could tell would be deep but had some rain that set it up. I have a video that shows what I’m talking about, if you haven’t seen it. Make sure you have you a Spot or InReach, there is very very little reception anywhere. If Colorado wasn’t to bad for you shouldn’t have any trouble that I can remember. The UTBDR I would not suggest doing solo.

    Did this follow the yellow GPX tracks from the NMBDR, or could you share the exact route?

    • @KJ03Adventure
      @KJ03Adventure  5 лет назад +2

      killintime71 Yes this was the standard route. I did not take the expert out of Abiquiu. But we did Chloride, and the rocky expert section from T or C to Reserve.

      I honestly couldn’t tell you. At the end credits there is the website I use to get license free music from. Pretty sure they were under rock.
