- The 2022 LEGO Star Wars Yoda's Hut has a new look. A model made for display with the swamp, X-Wing, tree roots, and detailed Yoda's Hut! For $80 this set if the best value & best looking of the new Diorama Collection in my opinion.

What is your favorite of the 3 2022 Diorama sets?
This one. And it’s not even close
Dagobah is the only one that seems nice IMO, Death Star trench run is *just* ok and the trash compactor is not good at all
Probably this one although I do like the trench run
The trash compactor was my favorite, I’m glad I bought it. The price didn’t bother me too much but I can understand why most people say it’s overpriced, because honestly it is truthfully.
i think this is the only trully good diorama set that i could see myself buying
The little part of the X-Wing sticking out is probably my favourite part of the set. Also, it’s weird to see a set with exactly 1000 pieces
Why is that weird??
@@harrygeal2819 Because 1000 is a clean number, usually a set would be something like 976 pcs or 1043 pcs
See I don’t like wing for some reason. Maybe it’ll grow on me haha.
I don't like the wing, as to me it should be build more into the set instead of hovering over the water.
I absolutely agree
As someone who’s worked with pad printers that printed in shapes very similar to the R2 dome I can testify that it’s pretty impossible to fix the variations in printing. They are really tricky devices when working with off shapes like that.
Awesome to hear that perspective, it’s easy to say “that should be fixed” without actually realising how hard something is to fix/ if it’s even possible
@mnr needs to see this
@@wizardscottie I’ll go into detail a bit more. A pad printer is basically a spongy rubber tip that is applied with a specific pattern which has glue applied to its this enables it to pick up inc on the designated pattern and press it against whatever is being printed. For something like R2s head, the pads would have a hole in the middle as to not get damaged / put unnecessary pressure on the stud on top. As the pad goes down and presses itself onto the pieces it’s going to naturally shift in one direction due to the circular opening making uneven contact. The piece is held in with little friction so it can easily be put in and removed since mass production tends to move fast. This means it isn’t perfectly aligned which also leads to the offset print. There is literally no way around this using pad printers in a mass production setting. By hand with love and care you can get a straight print but I mean with how many of these do they make per year I doubt that is the case. For context I worked with a certain medical filter which was coincidentally about the same shape as the R2 dome, a curved surface with an extruding tube in the middle about the width and height of a stud.
Also unrelated but pad printers are probably there most annoying things on the planet. If you ever work with one you will understand why Lego and many other products have flaws like this.
@@joshmackenzie3301 people will complain always without having any solutions
It's because MandRproductions is a manchild
that complains about things he generally doesn't understand, and nit-picks specific things he would like from a literal childrens toy and has a meltdown when his unrealistic expectations don't come true. He's a freak.
R2 could have a new mold one day where the head connects to the body by using a black technic pic the connect it internally-allowing the head to swivel.
That would be cool
Bro ur a genious
You should work for Lego lmao
that is a big brain moment
I’ve been wondering why this hasn’t existed since I was like 8 lol
The trans-green tiles really give the set an etherial look and feel while providing a great framing and backdrop for the scene.
Would be really happy to see a comparison of 3 Yoda’s Huts
I love the Diorama sets, I hope they continue this series. There are so many more scenes that they could produce!
Would be cool to see a hoth set and a phantom menace obi wan Darth maul set
@@j_rod_52 Hoth would be a bit difficult since it would need AT-AT’s and AT-ST’s and it wouldn’t fit in something like that I think
@@matteo9003 maybe with a scout droid or the monster that attaked luke
@@j_rod_52 from prequel trilogy?Lego will never do that...I’m reaaly sad for it but knowing Lego they will at least completely mess it up...
@@fenyx044 Yeah, the reality is that LEGO probably won’t make any prequel dioramas anytime soon… but here’s hoping that either we’re wrong, or that they’ll realise there’s demand for prequel sets in the nearish future.
One minor complaint is why are these diorama boxes the thumb-tab variety? I much prefer the cleanliness of slitting tape on the side rather than ripping glue for sets over $50
Mine was the clean tape that i cut. Must be a regional issue
My trench run was thumb tab, didn't think to look at the others at the Lego store.
Only the best is good enough
Lego retailers were sending complaints about resealed boxes. Part of the reason why figures are divided into different bags, boxes are glued and box flaps / display trays are gone.
People steal lego bag from boxes. The tape makes it easy to peel and reseal. The thumb tab prevents people from returning the box as “never opened”
Coming back to this video, these diorama builds are incredible. I hope to see some prequel sets. Like a high ground scene from ep 3.
if only we had this type of quality from the prequel sets
I'd like to see even bigger diorama sets going forward if these sell well. Palpatine's arrest would be neat
its from the prequels so that probably wont happen 😂
@@jacobnunner1769 YEP we all know LEGO. They'll remake every single Original Trilogy diorama set before making a single Prequel Trilogy diorama.
The price is STRONG with this one!
I got it for 55
@@namoa8202 where?
@@Brauket eBay
I’m looking forward to the days they add leg printing and the lower center leg for astromech units
I think they should throw an official Lego mini kit in one of these one of these days, just for the Lols.
Definitely agree with the trans green tiles. I was not looking forward to putting all those tiles down but really the harder part was the plates in the step before. Those were much harder because they were spread out. After that, it was just filling the left over space with tiles.
Why can’t they make it 1x4 trans tiles
I literally just finished building this and was sad there wasn't a video for it, what a coincidence!!
Lego prints Astromechs Heads the same way I apply most stickers.
Great set. Recently saw it on display and it’s the only set of the three in slightly comptenplating
This set looks great for building pieces to use on an Endor or Kashyyyk MOC
Or a Dagobah MOC
I strongly agree with what you said about the cauldron and Yoda's interior of his hut, I kept knocking it out too and I noticed the roof was a bit of a weird build too, but overall a great set I have to say
my fingers were killing me after putting this together but I love the look of it
Hey mandr, isn't it interesting that lego recently partnered with Hasbro to make the Optimus prime set. I say this because, if they're willing to partner with hasbro to make this, shouldn't they be able to also finally make a star wars cmf line? Since before they said they "can't" make one because it would violate Hasbros contract or something, but now they're working with them
I don’t think lego will still. They would just put the minifigures in sets to make more money
the designer of the Optimus Prime set used to work for Hasbro doing Transformers, so that's likely part of what contributed to that.
additionally, Transformers is a completely different IP than Star Wars, so it's still unlikely that Lego will make Star Wars CMFs.
Hasbro owns the Transformers brand so they can make money off the Lego set by licensing it to them. If Lego made a Star Wars CMF series (ultimately being an action figure line in a way), it would directly rival Hasbro's action figures which they have the "action figure" license for. Hasbro wouldn't be able to make money off of Lego's product and a Lego Star Wars CMF series could only be a loss for Hasbro.
Lego would lose a lot of money doing that sadly. As cool as it’d be to have that. I can’t see it ever happening.
They can do it but they wont cuz they dont care about what their customers think
Just finished building this set, and I'd say the bigest pain point was all the 1x1 transparent green, but love the circular transperent green for texturing in the swampwater part of it.
I picked this set up, gotta say that step 3 with all the green studs definitely gave me some carpal tunnel, man I’m getting old🥲
Never seen someone get so many slanted/misprinted r2d2 heads like Ryan does
As someone who has this set, it is a pain to stick on the 187x transparent green 1x1 tiles
At 20% off, I'd pick this up. No way I'm personally paying retail for any of the Diorama sets.
I believe the lamp you mentioned is actually supposed to be the portable generator Luke used, nice attenion to detail
Picked this up on May 4th and can’t wait to build it, seems like a really good set
The Wompa can’t enter his cave and Yoda can’t enter his house. Man the budget low
You can click the snake in between any studs. 😉
I thought that too but I could never get mine to stay in place.
that 1000 pieces... chef's kiss
I liked the overall look but yeah, bag 3 was a nightmare to build.
The one thing I don't like is the size of the hut. I would have preferred the hut to be at least 2 studs bigger to at least be in scale to Yoda himself. As it is, I don't think displaying it with the minifigures is a good idea. I removed mine into a display case and decided to display the set without minifigures.
My favourite diorama remains the Death Star trench run one.
I still think all 3 of them are overpriced. But I've got this one with a 25% discount and the trench run with over 50% discount, so I can't complain so far 😅 (I won't buy the trash compactor until I find similar deals).
You could put the snake on the clip instead of the lightsaber and have yoda hold the lightsaber if you want everything to be solid
I bought this set and I can’t wait to build it! Completely worth the price! Also love the video and the content Ryan! Keep up the great work!
have fun placing 187 translucent 1x1 green tiles
@@triszyisdizzy it takes like 2 minutes to do that part, calm down
I just wish they would use that iconic classic lego yoda from 2002
Why would they do that
@@thenotoriousjoey9956 have you seen it?
I hear so many stories about buyer's remorse with these "diorama" sets. I look at them seroiously and the phrase "half a clap" comes to mind.
Hmmm i dont regret buying. Who are these people talking?
@@icy5982 People voicing their opinion.
I’m glad you mentioned how you don’t read the introduction pages on the 18+ sets. I don’t read them either, and I’m inclined to believe this is more widespread than people talk about
Wasn't so sure on these. Saw all 3 sets built in a Lego store and I was shocked how this is was my favourite. Likes looks better in person, but my god all them greens in bag 4 😂
I think the Dagobah Jedi training is the best diorama, my least favorite is the trash compactor and the trench run is ok 👌🏼
My favorite is definitely the Dagobah diorama. However, I agree that all of them are overpriced. I picked up this one as well as the trash compactor set for May 4 as the price together got me the homestead kitchen set which kind of justified it for me!
Yeah, they're all a bit overpriced, but if you really like one it's not so bad (mine is trench run) but maybe this is the beginning of future inflation with Lego.
I got Dagobah and the Trash Compactor, at first Dagobah was my favourite but I really love the style and colours on the compactor, both amazing sets but could do with £10 off each set maybe
this is my favorite diroma set definitely need to have this
Off subject, but. Check out these ideas for the 2nd wave of Star Wars helmet set. As mentioned before Anakin's pod racer helmet, Kilo Ren's helmet, chrome phasma helmet. The new order stormtrooper helmet, and again. The disguise helmet that Lando calrissian wears during han's rescue from Jaba's palace.
seems like just yesterday you were speculating about this set with only blurry/leaked pics. awe.
Satisfied with the number of pieces I am
Excited to get my hands on this beautiful set
They should make a diaroma of han, Chewie, and leia in the empire stricks back when they land on a meterite and the big monster worm pops up and the quote should be "This is no cave"
Get your security connected with that new ride mic you bought. It’s great for interviews or two man videos. The tipper truck army is over 17000 pieces. Maybe I need to go for 24000 and turn it into a clone trooper
Some of the Dioramas look good with a mirror behind them. Especially the Trash compactor.
I just bought this set yesterday
My one complaint is the interior. I figured with an $80 Yoda's Hut set the interior would be far better than the previous ones.
@@johndavidharding why are you buying display pieces if you Want toys ?
Ask MandR: what figs do you think will go up in value soon? Like what figs do you recommend getting soon before they go up too much
Aunt owen and beru
Saving money to buy this so excited to build this would be my first ever 18+ set
Surprisingly this Luke actually has an exclusive torso and legs that are unique to this set. Just when I thought I could skip this one since I have the other Yoda's hut set.... Smh
Doing all that green drove me nuts because it’s all single stud squares and the packaging was screwed up in that I was missing 3 smooth squares and had 3 excess 3 single stud squares.
Every big Lego Star Wars set I’ve bought this year has had a screw up in piece count one way or another.
And yet, I am glad I got the diorama sets, they’re big yes, but still small enough it’s easy to find space to put the on my shelves
Why can't they get the paint tilt on the astromechs right? :(
You should definitely compare all of the diorama sets
The green studs were hard to put on
because there is just soo many
Hey Ryan, I recently heard this quote from a retired auto exec and it made me think of The Lego Group. “Lasting success is built on excellence. Excellence of service and excellence of the product. If you don’t have that, you don’t have anything and all the marketing in the world can’t overcome product deficiencies.”
Is series of set is really good example of Lego at it's best to me
The last thing lego could do for astromech droids is to start printing the legs
Coruscant Jedi Temple Anakin Skywalker Slaughtering The Younglings Diorama
The green tiles are great
That is the coolest R2. Im gonna have to get it now.
Top right technically has the swamp monster with the bubbles which is a cool detail
Now the astromech’s just need their third leg
I'll probably eventually buy this one, I'll just wait for now
Pretty nice diorama set it’ll be interesting what diorama sets LEGO will make next year.
In terms of pieces, the next largest Star Wars set after this is both versions of Kylo Ren's shuttle. Both the 2015 and 2019 versions have 1,005 pieces, only five more than this set.
Piece count is so irrelevant and if this set doesn’t prove that to people, idk what will.
Man I would love this set for display. I love Dagobah. It's one of my favorite Star Wars planets. My only issue is the White "smoke" coming out of the hut. It looks kind of dumb and sticks out like a sore thumb.
Definitely a missed opportunity to include a replica yellow dagobah luke sort of like the 20th anniversary thing they did for awhile
Finally getting my hands on this set! Can’t wait!
Went insane looking for my speaker remote after watching a Solid Brix studios video to then coming to this one.. still hear the ringing in my ear 🤣 (good diorama tho)
8:25 that's what he said
I wish that Lego did back prints for all astromechs...
I saw all the dioramas at Walmart but the prices are just too insane.
I’m not sure how the ad’s on RUclips work but I just thought it was cool that you have a Lego add on this video 😂 I’m not sure if you have a choice in what ad’s pop up lol
This is at the top of my lego wishlist
I cant believe they managed to hide a frog again
Cant argue on anything you just said. I love this set.
Awesome!
0:58 "they are LEGOS". Quickly, someone, call the Lego police!
They could’ve done one with anakin vs obi wan, or geonosis arena so many ideas but they always have to go with the original trilogy 🤦🏻♂️
this is gorgeous i love these dioramas.
there should be some blue near the x wing. to represent water
Just got this set for Christmas lmao got it for I believe 130 nzd which is about 60 to 70 usd cool set but takes longer than expected to build
Wow! When I was building this there was like 22 1x1 blocks and it took me so long.
This is without a doubt my favorite of the recent 18+ sets. Bought this a few days ago(along with a few other things) to get the Lars’ Homestead promo, and I can’t wait to build it. It’s a little pricy, but I love the way it looks. Would love an Endor, Mustafar, or Nabu set in this style
The water is the wrong color...
@@comebackguy8892 Well, they want it to look good lol. Sometimes the best look isn’t 100% accurate. I mean, it wouldn’t look nearly as cool if the water was dark brown 😂
@@Jay-Zech No, it's supposed be a mix between green and blue. Blue would be more suitable since the overall atmosphere of that planet is blue.
@@comebackguy8892 Well, I was joking when I said dark brown, to get the point across. But regardless, I definitely wouldn’t have used blue. The water is pretty green, it’s a little darker and less shiny, but Lego can’t really help that
@@Jay-Zech That would look way more realistic. But what they should have done is having a bunch of dark clear pieces on top of a bunch of dark green pieces. Hence making look like dark and disgusting water instead of slime.
Took like an hour and a half to build the thing, but pretty satisfying.
Has there ever been a Degobah Cave featuring a Luke / Darth Vader helmet mini fig released?
Maybe when you cut the box. You also cut that piece
Just picked this baby up for 50 bucks from the Amazon prime day deal
hear me out. A jedi battle pack with like 4 unnamed jedi and the have different colored lightsaber blades that you can switch out with one another.
The fact that the window R2 spies thru is missing bothers me slightly
I got it for 40 bucks on eBay new and great condition.
I would like to build a TIE reaper
mace windu vs sidious diorama or chancellors senate pod
Man that r2d2 head print would drive me crazy lol
You should do a Lego blog but go Lego yardsaleing
I have only just realised the blue line on your r2 d2 is not straight
I kina hate the bottom part of r2-d2
