I'm so glad Marco figured out his ideal racing strategy. That leading from the get go wasn't working for him. Better to conserve some energy drafting then letting 'er rip on the second lap. Canada is so proud of you! GOLD in LA, baby!
The smile 😃 is so amazing and humbling. Mashallah 🥰. Kudos Marco. Am glad to know ur dad, working with him at Grupo Canada in Edmonton. We r proud of u.❤❤
Now that's what you call rising to the occasion! Broke his own person best by 1.65 secs? Cruisng alone at the back for half of the race? What a great race!!
This journalist is a jerk. Arop answered multiple times about how he'd done his best and was delighted to have gotten silver. But the interviewer just won't be happy until Arop says he's disappointed or sad. Move on, guy.
Arop was giving cookie cutter answers Helwani is probing to see what he really thinks That’s what journalist does. Why do you want to hear rehearsed answers and non sincere ones? We all know he wants that gold
Lol welcome to Ariel HELLwani. Us MMA fans suffered with his instigating interviews for decades. yall had a sneak peak of what we deal with over there 😂😂
@@RunForPeace-hk1cu If you follow running, Arop is actually being genuine here not giving cookie cutter answers. The finishing time was insane. 1:41:20! It's not far from David Rudisha's legendary WR. Before the race, Arop wouldn't have dreamed of running a time like that. It's the 3rd and 4th fastest times all time by any runner. Obviously, he wants the gold, but he did a performance beyond his expectations which is why he was genuinely happy. "The best race I ran in my life" is the truth, he's never ran that well before. Athletes want to win but also show their best on the biggest stage, which is why he can't stop grinning. Compare that to other races he ran in the world championships, where he isn't afraid to show he's disappointed because he didn't run his best time and knew he could've done better.
He’s smiling so much! And he should be! We are so proud of you Canadian boyy❤
What a lovely humble man! CONGRATULATIONS!!!👍🏼🇨🇦😊👍🏼
Canada's first Olympic medal in 800m race in 60 years. Our last one in 800m was Tokyo in 1964.

Arop was gliding the whole race.
His fastest race and his most beautiful race.
Rudisha would be proud of these 2 guys.
