    The FN Five-Seven was specifically designed as the companion pistol to be sold with the FN P90. They were cambered in the same cartridge, and were extremely reliable and fitted its role perfectly.

    So the P90 and the FN 5-7 (both by FN) were manufactured to compete for NATO because NATO needed an armour piercing smg and FN gave them a side arm as well. The only other contender for this spot was the MP7 which lost by a slight margin so the P90 was going to become the perfect smg for armour piercing but West Germany vetoed its advancement wanting their HK MP7 to win

      @av0-cad03 6 лет назад +3

      The Megaroad Project
      5.7x28 was designed to be armor peircing. Of course you negate that if you use hollow points.

    • @davidmarshall7390
      @davidmarshall7390 6 лет назад +3

      And yet weirdly, 5.7mm hollowpoint can go through bullet-proof glass. Think Demolition Ranch or something did it.

    NATO required that the P90, a competitor alongside the MP7, would have a sidearm bearing the same round (the 5.7) after the cartridge was changed from a previous variation.

    I borrowed my friends TM p90 for my very first airsoft game 2 weeks ago. It was a good primary to go with. It's pretty lightweight so i had no problem with aching muscles, the big downside was that the mags ara pretty long and doesn't fit in standard sized mag pockets.

    They fire the same round that was specifically made for them to have a large capacity but still the firepower of a rifle. The fn 5.7x28mm is basically a shrunken rifle round.

  • @marcoantonioguzman6293

    The caliber. Their both in 5.7×28. And also they were the only ones in that caliber for the longest time. There are other 5.7×28mm hand guns and sub-machine guns out there now. But the P90 and the fn 5.7 pistol were the first in that caliber.

  • @sogerc1
    @sogerc1 6 лет назад

    Hey Mike, when you turn into a P90 fan, you should also start using P90 mags. You can get 100 or 150 midcaps that don't ralle and they are transparent, so you can see how many rounds you've got in the mag. And also the gun won't snag into your equipment because the P90 has such a slick desing, honestly I'd remove the swordfish kit too, it's just deadweight.

    The P90 shares the same ammunition as the Five-Seven, both chambered in 5.7x28mm (since the round is so small it has a high capacity for both weapons: Five-Seven holds 20 rounds and the P90 holds 50 rounds)
    Some other facts about the P90 is that the 5.7x28mm cartridge that it uses is a SUPER fast bullet compared to a 9mm bullet (which is a bulkier and slower slug build) the 5.7x28mm aerodynamic slug build allows incredible speed for purposes such as penetrating Kevlar, it has also been adopted by many militaries across the globe.

    It looks so much better with that proper P90 mag instead of the box one. I also prefer the fore grip mod over the front that this one has. Maybe a little more barrel, a flash hider, or suppressor. to have a little something out front. Personal preference mind you. The box and standard mag combo does look interesting system wise though. Good to know the two are interchangeable with a regular mag. I never knew that.

    Always had a lot of love for the airsoft P90. Nice easy to work on V6 gearbox, lightweight, small form, fire selector 2-stage trigger, plenty of room for battery. Just hate the M4 box mag look and the hi-caps whilst rattle free never fed correctly. Mid caps generally only 170rnd and just too big and bulky - such a shame

    • @trey5911
      @trey5911 6 лет назад +2

      What on earth are you going on about lol.. Firstly, hi-cap mags are not rattle free and feed perfectly on this P90. Secondly, mid caps that are rattle free, are not designed to work on this box mag system as demonstrated in this video, the BBs have to freely fall from the box mag into the M4 style mag's open door on the top. Mid caps are generally fed via the magazine follower opening and not a door.
