Yeah that tank looks phenomenal for the year, very impressed and great job on the ignition! That's a bummer it's a different ignition and key than the rest of the bike and nice work nonetheless! I was thinking maybe pulling the electrical tape off would reveal a key code somewhere on the bottom side - maybe worth a shot but now that it's working it doesn't much matter. Also I would not recommend cranking the starter or engine with all that water/oil that was in there and leaked out as you could damage the internals - I would definitely wait until doing a proper oil change and getting the clutch back together. That being said, definitely looking forward to seeing part 2 of this video and hopefully seeing the bike run - that would be awesome! Best of luck!
Yep! Pulled the tape back and still didn’t find anything. Not my favorite but got it going. The optimist in me has never had to drill before! I won’t be cranking again until pulling the plugs and draining oil milkshake! I’ll be looking into assembly. Good to know the pistons are free!
That tank looks clean inside! That rear fender emblem is a rarity.

@@mcycleshawn Agree 100% - that is a good feeling knowing that at least the engine isn't seized up and cranks! Good luck!
I kno this is an old thread but where did u find the key code
The code was printed on the back of the lock for the tool kit/luggage compartment/trunk.
