I followed the exact same recipe. It turned out super moist but it was a little underbaked. I baked it at 180 degree Celsius for 20 min but still underbaked. Is there any suggestion?
@ Emma R. In an 8 inch (20 cm) round cake pan at 350oF (180oC), it will take 35-40 minutes. All oven are different, please adjust cooking time accordingly. If toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean, cake is done. I hope you'll like it. Thank You.

I don't think so, as you would replace a dry ingredient with a moist ingredient. It will of course make a huge difference in taste, but also stability of the dough, baking time and texture. I assume the dough would be less fluffy, and on the heavier side. Try to replace part of the sugar first, or reduce the amount of orange juice when adding moist date paste instead of dry sugar. Baking is often try and error, so I wish you good luck experimenting :) keep us updated!
These cupcakes were a fail for me this has never happened cupcakes separated from the liner and they also sunk not sure what happened 😔 still not sure about the 1 1/2 cup of orange juice👀🤔
@lamirada90638. I'm sorry to hear that. Cupcakes can sink for these reasons: - over-beating the batter (too much air inside batter). Please mix until just combined. - oven temperature too high (all ovens are not the same). - baking powder and baking soda not working properly or expired. Thank you.

All ovens are not the same. You can cook it for 1-2 minutes or more, until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
Could I try this with almond or pandan extract instead of vanilla extract?
