My first ever hockey game was back when I lived in South Florida, I saw the Panthers play Detroit and Detroit was just obliterated that game. Ever since then, hockey quickly bumped up to be my second favorite sport. Love the Panthers, love hockey, now, I live in Bruins territory and you can bet that I am insanely happy these past few days.
I can't remember the first few games I went to but the one I can remember was this season at ppg, Penguins vs Islanders. All games I went to have been at ppg, Penguins vs Islanders
My first NHL game was Blackhawks vs Ducks in March 5th, 2008. I was 6 at the time so I didn’t really know any of the details but I never forgot that Patrick Sharp scored the empty netter. Hawks won 3-0. 13 years later, I discovered this game was Corey Crawford’s first career NHL victory.
Honestly pretty nice seeing a father and daughter enjoying time together. Kinda wholesome when you really look at it. First game was in Arizona yotes vs pens. And only other game I’ve seen is in Vegas knights vs pens.
My first game was Canes v Stars in 2022. I didn't become a hockey fan until after I moved to Texas, so of course got sucked into supporting the Stars just through proximity. Fun story though, I didn't go to that Canes v Stars game in Dallas, I actually flew to Raleigh. This transpired because the friend that got me into hockey in the first place lives in Durham. It came up in conversation that she wanted to borrow a family member's season tickets to go to that specific game since she had a long weekend off of work. The family member is married to a well known country music star (yes, this was one of the wilder conversations I've had with this friend) who apparently has Canes season tickets. I joked at first about flying in for that weekend to see her and also go to that game, and then ended up last minute buying plane tickets and sealed the deal. We didn't end up using the season tickets, but she did spring for section 100 seats since it was my first game ever. Great weekend overall, it was the first time we had gotten to meet in person since we became friendly via social media. I've since been to 2 Dallas home games, the 2 during the week of Easter this year. My brother sprung for a hockey vacation for the 2 of us, which was a surprise because I was the one that cared about hockey and not him. However, he's a big sports guy and while we love and support each other with wild abandon, this is the first time in our lives that we've had such a similar interest and I think he wanted to capitalize on that. It was a great weekend for the 2 of us, and was actually both our 2nd and 3rd NHL games. Now I've roped HIM into supporting the Stars. It's made the playoffs way more entertaining since he's actually paying attention and yelling at me through text every other night. Unfortunately, I move to NY in August, so going to home Stars games isn't going to be on the cards for a bit, but I was immensely grateful that I got to while I was still close.
Not liking someone because of the jersey they wear is so stupid to me. I'll treat everyone the same at home games even if you're rooting against the wings
My first NHL game was Blackhawks Stars in Dallas in February of 2015 for my 14th birthday. I grew up a huge Blackhawks fan in Austin and my parents always took me to Dallas to catch a Hawks game. This year, i just moved to Michigan, about 3 hours from Chicago and finally managed to make it to my first game in Chicago, an OT win over Calgary. The teams not nearly as fun to watch as they were when i was growing up, but it was so cool to finally be in that building.
Nothin better than cruisin to that Arena & all of a sudden that imposing building pops out towering over the hwy getting pumped. Amalie isnt the same in that regard. Although the tesla coils are prob the coolest "team-prop" in the entire league no doubt. Ahhh good times
My first NHL game was at the Bell Centre when Danault ate a Chara slapshot and had to be stretchered off (Jan 2018 I believe). It was unreal hearing a rowdy, excited crowd go dead silent in a second.
My first NHL game was 2013 Ducks (my favorite team) in Anaheim against the Coyotes! Been to many Ducks games since, including Selanne’s last regular season game against the Ave’s, where Selanne did a lap Jiggy after the game. Also, Getzlaf’s last game. Great memories!
My first NHL game was Rangers/Pens at MSG Oct. 30 1988. It was a very memorable game for sure. Granato had 4 goals, David Shaw hit Mario in the chest with his stick and there was bedlam. Truly some old time hockey that night. We had a blast.
My first hockey game was when I carried the flag on ice before the start of Game 6 Montréal vs Boston in the 2011 Playoffs, this ended up being the last Habs victory of the series
My first NHL Game I went to goes all the way back to when I was 5. It was the 2007 Stanley Cup Finals Sens vs Ducks Game 3. That was a one hell of an awesome day I will never forget.
For me, it was a game in Chicago a while back. Don’t remember the year but it was hard hat night. Guess what happened? A hat trick was scored (Toews I think), hats come pouring down, the goal gets called back, and then he scored another one. Edit: I found it on RUclips, was Toews’ first hat trick in 2009 if people are interested.
Took the train from Halifax to Montreal to see a Habs Leafs game back in 1996…Wendell Clarke got in a scrap and the leafs won 5-2…I was wearing my classic NY Rangers starter jacket too!!
My first NHL game ( I had to check on Wikipedia to find the date, I remembered the teams and the score.) It was Dec 10 1988. I was 10 years old. Montreal Forum between the Habs and the Caps. 0-0 tie. The Habs scored but the goal was disallowed because of a player in the crease. No video review of course, was not yet a rule. So I got to experience the goal frenzy for a short while. then I got to experience being pissed at the ref. Not plural there was only one at the time. Man that was a long time ago. Only 1 ref, no video reviews and tie games.
My first game I attended was April 6th, 2010 Rangers vs. Sabres at Key Bank center back when it was called HSBC arena. I remember Lundqvist got pulled after giving up 3 goals in the first period. Sabres won 5-2 and it was a super exciting to see them win when I was only 8.
My first live game was back in 1984, I was 6 at the time, and it was between the 2 power house teams of the NHL at the time. Islanders VS Oilers at Northlands Coliseum in Edmonton. Seeing Gretzky, Kurri, Messier, Fuhr, Bossy, Billy Smith, and Potvan. My dad took me and I can still remember it like it was yesterday. Oilers were up 2-0 in the first, Islanders came back and it ended in a 3-3 tie. Saw some of the greatest players that ever played in just one game.
First game was this year, Pens and Senators. I was in Pittsburgh for work and a buddy who lived there got us tickets and I’ve been hooked since. 3 goals for the home team and coming out of the arena into a light dusting of snow was a really cool vibe
This is a cool story. And I’m also very fortunate to get this experience. When I was 9, for my birthday my dad got me tickets to see the flames vs the rangers… 2nd row from the ice. Gretzky was playing and he skated by me multiple times that game. I didn’t understand what my dad did for me that day until my adult years. I got to see the great one play from second row. Amazing
First game was the Washington Capitals play the jets? Idk, but the first game I remember was last year, Bruins Caps, in DC, 4-2 caps, game 71. First bruins game, wasn’t a great memory. By the way, preemptive congratulations on 100k subs Eck!!! You deserve it!!!
My first game was in November 2002. Avs vs Oilers at Skyreach Center in Edmonton. I was 11 and being an Avs fan, I was so excited to see Joe Sakic and Patrick Roy (whom did not play that night, so I only got to see him in the warmup) in person. The Oilers won 1-0 thanks to Tommy Salo being lights out, so I didn't even get a single Avs goal to cheer over ;( Fast forward to June 2022 when I was at Rogers Place for game four of the Conference Final, and got to cheer for SIX Avs goals and see them punch their ticket to the Stanley Cup Final! I like to think that experience made up for the lack of cheering back at the game in 2002 ;D
Season tickets to the devils, im a panthers and jackets fan. I support the devils because there my local team and grew up watching them. Catch me in section 113. Went to 2 games last series against the rangers and going to game three against the Canes.
2007, Phoenix coyotes vs the Toronto maple leafs in Winnipeg for a pre season game. Matts Sundin as the captain, Wayne Gretzky behind the bench for the yotes. What a wild experience for your 8th birthday
The first NHL game I went to was February 18, 2013, the Avs at home against the Preds. When Matt Duchene skated 20 feet offsides (yes, this is THAT game) I vividly remember my dad having to explain to my mom why that goal shouldn't have counted, but did anyways. Didn't know the first game I'd see would be one for the history books.
First hockey game ever was this year. Kings vs Red Wings. It was the night they debuted the reverse retro jersey. Safe to say I became a big Kings fan and a fan of this badass sport after that game.
As someone from the UK, with our football culture, it amazes me how opposition fans happily sit next to each other in the stands. If that happened here it would be absolute carnage.
I went to a Detroit red wings game in 97. I was only 9 at the time so I didn't get to fully appreciate what I was seeing. I can still remember my mom leaning forward to ask my dad something during pregame warmups and a puck smacked right into the back of her seat. Luckily she walked away with her teeth intact and I still have the puck to this day. The Joe was rockin that night!
Capitals vs Canucks in Vancouver, 2019. Drove up north from Seattle specifically to watch some NHL hockey for the first time. Then the Kraken finally set up shop, went to their training camps at their facility, attended their second-ever preseason game, the inaugural regular season home game vs Canucks, and a few more during the 21-22 season including the final home game vs Sharks. Most recently I went to game three of Kraken vs Avs round one match of the playoffs.
The only NHL games I've been to are Panthers ones so far. Would love to go to others if I'm ever on vacation or something. But love my Panthers! Let's go Cats!
1st NHL game was December 10, 2005. My late friend was a big Avs fan and they were in town to play the Pens at the Igloo. Pens won 4-3, one of only 22 wins that season. It was Crosby's rookie season and he posted an assist.
My first game was at Gila River arena, Detroit was visiting and the Coyotes won! Got my daughter into hockey a couple years later. She got a Zamboni ride on her 9th birthday! That was super cool.
First NHL game was new year's eve, 2022, Flames vs Canucks! Just got into hockey last playoffs (supporting a rare Flames run) and took my relative from out of the country to both our first hockey games! Flames W with a shorty, Weegars first as a flame, and fireworks after! Well worth it!
You freaking LOVE to see it. I’m a Caps fan and my best friend and his family were from Pittsburgh and huge hockey fans so from 1990 to 1993 they invited me to go with them to see Caps Pens once a year at the Capital Centre. Saw some great hockey from those Legendary Pens teams that we sadly always choked to in the playoffs. 1992 we were up 2-0 and 3-1 before choking and the Pens repeating.
As a Leaf fan, I laughed my ass off when I saw the story unfold here! It’s clear that these fans have no hatred and that’s it’s all just a fun joke. I admire balls of steel like that!
Dec 13 1972 in Buffalo. Sabers vs Bruins. Best brawl I've seen and I have been watching hockey since the late 60's. For the first live game, that was something else, think I was 13 or 14... Bobby Orr got thrown out of the Buffalo bench not once but twice....some of it is on u tube. You can find it on youtube at Wayne Cashman vs Jim Shoenfeld Dec 13, 1972. It was very memorable to say the least.
My first NHL game was in February 24th, 2022 at Climate Pledge Arena. The Kraken were playing the Bruins, and the Bruins won, 3-2 in overtime off a Jake DeBrusk snapshot. I’ll never forget it.
My first game seeing live since getting into hockey was April 6, 2019, Minnesota Wild at Dallas Stars. That was back in the days of Ben Bishop and he got a shutout that night, it was glorious
My first NHL game was actually just a couple of months ago. I've grown up going to WHL games (still love the Silvertips btw) but didn't get into the NHL until the Kraken started playing. I didn't get to go to any of their games in the inaugural season, but I was finally able to see them in person on March 7 against the Ducks. I had an amazing time and got to be part of the first 'ref you suck' chant at CPA! Genuinely an amazing experience, I 100% recommend going to a game at least once if you have the opportunity.
First game for me was during a family vacation to florida when I was 7 back in 2008, tampa played the sens and I vividly remember seeing both Heatley and St. Louis during warm ups!!
My first NHL game was Bruins vs Caps 2010-2011 season in the TD Garden. Never forget the friendly banter of the nose bleeds as an 11yr old with my dad and brother. Grew up going to lots of Lowell Lockmonsters/Devils games and Riverhawks of course.
my first NHL game was in the 2021 round 2 avs-knights game 2. the whole time the atmosphere was incredible and it was topped off with Mikko Rantanen winning the game in Overtime
My first NHL game was on January 12th, 2017. The Devils came to Rogers Place, it was Taylor Hall’s return to Edmonton since getting traded. At that point I never watched a lot of sports until that day. The game went to overtime, McDavid passed the puck to Draisaitl who scored the OT goal, and I became a fan for life.
Feb 12, 2007. Atlanta Thrashers vs Edmonton Oilers in Edm. My first ever game. Was in section 300 something. The Oilers had a thing called “Move of the game” where in the first 10 minutes, a random seat in the nosebleeds would be selected and that person would move seats from section 300, down to behind the teams bench! I was sitting in the lucky seat! I was escorted thru the arena down to the players bench. I was gifted some pretty sick merch too. Not only did I get the most unreal experience but I also got to see one of my all time favorite players live - Ilya Kovalchuk! It’s one of the greatest memories I shared with my dad. I was only 8 years old! I’d give anything to re-live that game again.
My first game was game 4 of the 1999 eastern conference quarterfinals between the Sabres and Senators. I was 5 years old and got to see the Sabres sweep the Senators. My father saved my white Pom Pom along with the ticket which I still have to this day.
My first NHL Game was Boston vs Toronto in TD garden in January of 2023, I’m a huge leafs fan and it was so cool seeing Matthews score a beauty in person
First game I went to was April 2nd, 2015 in Ottawa. 2-1 OT win vs. the Tampa Bay Lightning. Since then I’ve lived in San Jose and Montreal, and seen games at both arenas
First NHL game: 1998, Calgary Flames @ San Jose Sharks. After that we got Sharks season tickets 2000-2001 through 2002-2003 seasons before moving away.
First game was the Sharks at home in the late 90s. No idea who they played but there were a couple fights, blood on the ice and the Sharks won. Those were the Mike Ricci and Owen Nolan days. Made me a fan to this day.
First game was Coyotes vs. Ducks in 2016 in Arizona. I don't remember much though. Most recent was in December with Coyotes vs. Bruins in Mullett and it was a blast.
My first game was at Maple Leafs gardens for the home opener in 1974-75 against the Kansas City Scouts (now NJD). Leafs won 6-2. TBH, they're doing exactly what I used to do whenever I went to friends places and they were watching the Canucks.
As an oilers fans who lives in London, England, I go to Canada once a year but not always during the season. The first time I went, I saw oilers play against the Canucks when the Sedins retired (rogers place inaugural season) and the most recent was last year when McDavid hit 100 points against LA
My first hockey game i went to was back in the mid 90s, minor league teams here in texas that no longer are around, it was the Austin Ice Bats playing against the Waco Wizards, was a awesome experience. The first professional game that me and my best friend got to go to together was in late 2010, was here in texas, Detroit red wings against Dallas stars, patrick eaves got his first career hat trick that game which led to the wings winning 7-3 over Dallas, was a awesone experience.
First NHL game I went to was the Pittsburgh Penguins at San Jose Sharks on 12 December 2002. My buddy, who's a diehard Penguins fan, invited me to the game. It was a lot of fun, especially being able to see Super Mario in what was really his last full season before retirement.
My first NHL game was at the United Center, Sabres v Blackhawks in 1998. During one of the TV time-outs the PA announces "The Chicago Blackhawks would like to welcome WCW Superstar, The Nature Boy Ric Flair!" and he's on the jumbo waving and wooing. Cut to second NHL game opening night for the Carolina Hurricanes in 2001 right after I've moved to Raleigh and who do I see but Ric-effing-Flair. It's like the dude is at every game.
My mom won tickets to an oilers game so me and my grandpa went to see them play philly this year in march. We got to sit at the top of the bottom bowl so we had a table and high chairs with a barrier behind us so it was a comfortable experience and they won with 97 and 29 getting 700 and 800 career points that game. And got an authentic hyman jersey. So pretty good all round
My first game was September 1992 Tampa bay vs. Minnesota north stars at the Florida state fairgrounds. fell in love with the sport and started playing shortly after that. Bandwagon fans unite!!
2002- Sens vs Habs in Ottowa. It was the one and only NHL game I've ever been to. My then step-father took us to that game as an outing while we were visiting his family in Canada over the Christmas holidays
Gosh, I've been so privileged to have attended so many over my life so far, and cheering for the Red Wings no less. My first game was on 1/27/10 at the Joe against the Phoenix Coyotes. Wings were up 4-3 facing an empty net when Lidstrom went for the 175ft hat trick. He missed, Phoenix would tie it up after the ensuing faceoff, and they completed the comeback in OT. My favorite game I've ever been to was a random youth group trip to the Joe against Calgary on 11/21/10, where Datsyuk to Zetterberg tied the game with 3 seconds to play and where Lidstrom made Kiprusoff do some snow angels in the crease before potting the goal and completing their own comeback. I've also been to one in PPG Paints Arena on 1/13/18. The Wings might've lost 4-1, but cheering for the away team was pretty surreal when all I'd known to that point was overwhelming company. The most recent one I've attended was the 7-6 shootout loss to Buffalo where I went with my stepdad to take his parents to their first game at LCA, and just prior to that I was honored to witness the 7-4 smackdown they gave Pittsburgh. What an absolute joy this sport is.
First NHL game was Stars vs Islanders in 2016. Best NHL experience was seeing Bruins vs Wings and Bruins vs Flyers in Boston in 2017. The Gahden is epic
I remember my first game quite well, it was at Rexall Place on 2010-11-17 where my Oilers got trounced 5-0 by the Hawks. Since then though, I've been to close to a dozen Oilers games and they won every time

Only 1 ref, no video reviews and tie games.
👋 Dani here. Love your video!!
This is if THG went to a bunch of Montréal games.
My first NHL game was Jets vs Islanders in 2017
First game was this year, Pens and Senators. I was in Pittsburgh for work and a buddy who lived there got us tickets and I’ve been hooked since. 3 goals for the home team and coming out of the arena into a light dusting of snow was a really cool vibe
My first name was Sharks @ Leafs in 2022. It's how I became a hockey fan!
First NHL game I went to was this year, a Wings game @ Little Cesar’s vs the Blackhawks. Great first experience!
First game I ever went to Edm vs LA 1981. A lot of fights, two bench clearing scrums. After that game I was hooked. Been a big fan ever since.
I love these two, they're the best fans ever.
First game was Oilers at Rexall place with Dad & grandpa. Back when we still had Laraque, Hemsky & Smitty on the squad. Great times!
Great memories of that Oilers era.
Forget the year but I was the Leafs Vs Sabers in Toronto an got to watch my favourite goalie at the time ryan Miller square up against Optimus reim
My first game was the Hartford Whalers versus the Calgary Flames in Hartford back in 1983
I've seen a couple NHL open practices here in Finland in 2018 and in 2022 but haven't got to a live game yet
I went to the first ever preseason game for the Wild in their inaugural season in 2000 or 2001. I've been to several Wild games in my lifetime.
My first NHL game was 2016 Florida Panthers vs Red Wings in Florida. I’m a panthers fan and we lost in a shootout.
Was Datsyuk playing in that one? That would at least be a treat to see him in action in the shootout even if you're cheering for the other team.
Awesome Eck! Love your vids!
Try that stunt in the Boston Garden!
2017 oilers devils, oilers won in OT. I’m a die hard oilers fan. I love your content
As a Leaf fan, I laughed my ass off when I saw the story unfold here! It’s clear that these fans have no hatred and that’s it’s all just a fun joke. I admire balls of steel like that!
2017 Flew to Miami from Finland with friends. Had a week long roadtrip to West coast and there happened to be a Sharks vs. Canucks game. Had a blast.
March 2010. My favourite player growing up Jarome Iginla scores a hat trick (I’m from winnipeg so we saw it in Minnesota) is my furthest memory
As a person who inhabits Florida, my first NHL game was 2011 playoffs Bruins vs. Lightning game 6.
I saw these two live and wanted to see them again!
my first NHL game was in the 2021 round 2 avs-knights game 2. the whole time the atmosphere was incredible and it was topped off with Mikko Rantanen winning the game in Overtime
My first game was this year when tampa played the kings
My first NHL game was on January 12th, 2017. The Devils came to Rogers Place, it was Taylor Hall’s return to Edmonton since getting traded. At that point I never watched a lot of sports until that day. The game went to overtime, McDavid passed the puck to Draisaitl who scored the OT goal, and I became a fan for life.
Penguins Senators in Ottawa… was stoked to see my hero Crosby play but he had one of his concussion injuries a couple days before the game :(
Feb 12, 2007.
Canucks vs Tampa in Vancouver 2018
First game was Leafs vs Devils Nov 17 2022
We lost in OT but holy that game was a time I’ll never forget
My first NHL game was the original Winnipeg Jets vs Detroit in 1993. It was in the old arena that has since been torn down.
My first game was December 2003 Florida Panthers at Toronto Maple Leafs. My other game was 2010 Toronto against Nashville
My then step-father took us to that game as an outing while we were visiting his family in Canada over the Christmas holidays
for me it was 2015 minnesota wild game excel enrgy center and i have gone to multiple since including this yr
My first NHL game was March.19.2011 Leafs vs Bruins. Nazem Kadri got his first NHL goal that night.
I remember my first game quite well, it was at Rexall Place on 2010-11-17 where my Oilers got trounced 5-0 by the Hawks. Since then though, I've been to close to a dozen Oilers games and they won every time
