1969 is the year of the first moon landing. The T-Rex set was a really fun to build. Lego has helped keep me sane for the last year.

I watched someone drop 15K at a lego store during a Lego convention in 2002 and the same person did it a year later again for a total of around 7k. Also having worked in Lego retail in the mid 2000's $2k purchases were not uncommon during the holidays. Unfortunately most of those large holiday purchases were well off people who really didn't know anything about the hobby and would bounce around between themes as they didn't know their kids very well from how they interacted with me while I was helping them.

I been watching a couple of this guys videos and I love how genuine he is, imma say its a bit cringey how he acts but I mean that in a good way. He's hyped about legos and seems excited for them and its cool how he isnt super over exaggerating his joy for it like you see most youtubers do for videos. He's just a guy who likes legos and wants us all to see

@@rabarebra depends on the situation...having any job doesnt guarantee complete financail stability ..it depends on the ratio of income to expenses..for examply if your jobs pays $2400 but your rent is like $1200 plus utilities and then extra for food and whatever else..then you wont have much money left over...for anything..so thats called being working and broke..so having a job doesnt guarantee anything..

I agree, being forced to spend your money (especially if you are under 18 and the only way to earn money is through deeds and presents) on stuff you do not want is the worst, I think we should mainly spend our money on clothes and stuff we really like while we are under the legal age of eighteen. 🤔

The piece count on the NASA rocket was the year it landed for the first time on the moon.
@Isaiah Snyder No the moon landing was July 20th, 1969. The set was made to celebrate 50 years of that, not the first launch.
@Isaiah Snyder It launched on July 16th 1969 and it took three days to get to the moon and a extra day came from orbiting the earth and the moon and it landed on July 20th 1969.

@@rabarebra I understand your point of view. But as you said, it's a personal choice/opinion/desire. We are not a pundit, so we can't classify that most people buy all sets just because Lego launched. This is not my case, and probably not most people's case as well. We buy what makes us happy, that's it. Assembly Square is not for you, that's ok, it was for me, so I bought it. You saved some money in there, and that's exciting!
This brings back memories. I used to buy Lego sets every 2 to 3 weeks between 2012 to 2018.
My biggest single haul was on 2017 Jan 17 when I spent over USD6K on Lego purchases and gotten like 17 sets of Year of the sheep for free.
My total spent for that year on Lego was over USD30K.
Till now (end 2023), total spent on Lego is well over USD110K.
Unlike this channel, most of my Lego sets are still MISB as I don't have space to open them all. I think my opened sets are around 300 to 400 or at most 500 sets.
As noted in my first sentence most of them are bought between 2012 and 2018. After 2018 I slowed down a lot due to lack of space at home. :-(

i remember i was at the mall a while back and i saw this guy, probably 30's, carrying 2-4 huge bags from the LEGO store through the mall. My first thought was, "Someone's gonna have a lot of fun!" then I thought, "Treat yourself!"
I love Lego sets but my wife would lose her mind if I did this to a room. I had a neighbor who did this in a room when he was a kid and it was wild. Props to you man but I am sure you get some strange looks from time to time.

It's Canadian dollar, if you convert to euro it's actually cheaper there than in Europe. For exemple, the Jurassic Park set they bought is 299,99 $ which is +-204€. The same set is sold 249,99€ here.

My family have most of the technic builds you saw there and Apollo 1a, the rocket ship, AND TONS OF CARS
I saw the Ferrari with 30% off already, despite being relatively new. It's really not that great of a set, unfortunately. The space shuttle on the other hand is one of the greatest sets I've ever build. Highly recommended!
