- In this video, I try out my favorite team at the moment! This team was built by three VGC legends and champions: Shiliang Tang, Justin Tang, and Gavin Michaels. All three players used it at the Toronto Regional Championships and finished in the Top 32, 16, and 8 with it. It features some unique picks like Choice Scarf Salamence, Wide Guard Pelipper, and bulky Iron Bundle. The team is heavily centered around enabling Nasty Plot Gholdengo to sweep through teams!

Fissure Dondozo is for Konmo-o, Goodra, Okidogi, DD Roaring moon and other set up pokemon but you forced me to use it against Gholdengo hahahaha, that was a wild turn with de icicle crash miss and fissure.

That first game was kind of funny with you pointing out the ghost-Tera shadow claw Tyranitar, because I just happened to click on the old Houndoom team video from I think the first regulation and the first battle in that video also used a ghost-tera shadow claw Tyranitar that caught you by surprise too

I remember back in the day playing Pokémon Stadium and going against a Rapidash that not only outsped my three-member team but connected three Horn Drills in a row. That was the worst kind of loss.

Hydreigon and Garchomp are both top tier for me. I also love Mega Salamence's design. I really wish they would give Salamence Aerilate as a hidden ability these days to give it another playstyle since we can't have the mega
I successfully predicted a bunch of your opponent’s moves this battle. I’m a total noob at competitive Pokémon, but I’m learning more with these videos. Great stuff.
Just got my missus into it. She's only doing casual but watching her switch on and get the predictions is amazing. I suck at competitive but it's great seeing new players get the hang of it.
Hydreigon has been my all time favorite pokemon since it came out in gen 5.
Salamence has always been my favorite. I've been running him since reg D first with life orb and now with rocky helmet. Lots of versatility
QOTD: I'm going with Haxorus. While it is certainly overshadowed competitively by its pseudo-legendary brethren, Haxorus is nonetheless a force to be reckoned with and has been a staple on my main story teams since its introduction in gen 5.
Fun fact: Haxorus isn’t quite a pseudo legendary. Like Flygon, it doesn’t have the typical 600 Base Stat Total, sitting only at 540 total.

Qotd: Rayquza is the God of dragons to me. I love the wingless dragon design. Reminds me of Haku from spirited away

Ooo, I thought this team was so cool when I saw Justin Tang using it. So glad a rental code was put up to try it (it being all Pokémon obtainable natively in SV is a huge plus for me).
QOTD: Favorite dragon…hm, that’s a tricky one. Salamence is great and viable, Flygon and Tyrantrum are really cool designs…(trick question, the answer is my Tera Dragon Blaze Breed Tauros that I just never changed the Tera Type on /s)

Not my favorite dragon types but Hydreigon really grew on me back in reg A and I’m using roaring moon on my team now, it’s pretty versatile and knock off was a great buff 💪

Everyone loves when Gholdengo makes it rain, but when Pelliper does it, he "ruins the bachelor party"...
As someone that picked up Gen IX to try and get back into competitive after a 7 year break, I was super disheartened to find out about Reg D and onward, making it sound like it practically required old games that I didn't have, let alone time to play through them. This Team looks so within reach! Definitely going to give it a shot.
And for favorite Dragon type, gotta go Dialga on that front. Garchomp if you want a non-legendary. :P
1:00:00 I remember watching someone with a Defiant Adrenaline Orb Thundurus (now I'm second guessing if it was Tornadus instead tho), and it was a massacre.
QOTD: Garchomp. Gen 4 was when I really started getting into competitive so it holds a special place in my heart. It’s got a great design, great stats, and has managed to stay fairly relevant!
My favorite dragon type pokemon is Goodra, glad they got a glow up this gen
Dragapult and Hydreigon are my favorite dragons. The Pult is a sneaky little guy to not mess with, and ol Three Heads will always be near and dear to me.

My favourite dragon is the undisputed King of dragons, Garchomp. Nerfed in SV, usually meta defining and almost single-handedly encouraged the existence of fairy types.
Dragalge is my favorite. I just think he's neat; a leafy sea dragon who's literally a leafy dragon, who lives in the sea, but is also poisonous because why not I guess.
QOTD: Flapple! Apple worm/wyrm is such a clever pun and design.
Regidrago imo is one of the coolest dragon types currently ^-^
QOTD: Rayquaza. My first Pokémon game ever was Pokémon Ruby and seeing him for the first time (and pretty much every time after that) is something I'll never forget. Runner ups are Dragonite, and Dragapult ❤

My favorite dragon is probably Dratini. He's just a little guy. Although, Roaring Moon and Bax are rad as hell.

Dragapult has to be the best design for a dragon ghost type imo. They did the concept of dragapult really well

I quite like Kommo-o, but it was so bad until SV that I had really mixed feelings about it. Gonna be sad when tera leaves and it becomes bad again (seriously why isn't one of its types Steel so that its at least neutral to Fairy).

Qotd Dragonite is clearly the best dragon ever, his big derpy body is hilarious and his tiny wings and deep empty eyes make it.
My favorite dragon? Appletun. Don't know why and don't really care. But of all the beastly and monstrous dragon pokemon with edgey and over-the-top designs, mine is a chubby apple lizard with flappy ear/eyes.

Why do we think no one uses rock head; wild charge, flare blitz, 😢head smash and protect H-arcanine. Is it too linear strategically?? Not enough defenses?? I feel like I’d love to see a recoil based h-arcanine
Intimidate is probably too good of an ability to anyone consider Rock Head.
I made an competitive Rock Head Hisuean Arcanine with Head Smash, Fire Blitz, Wild Charge and Howl/Protect (was experimenting still with the last move). I even have the Arcanine a bit more bulky and somewhat less attack because of the lack of intimidate. That's why I also experimented with Howl. But sadly... I've done miltiple battles with it and Arcanine isn't bulky enough without intimidate most of the time.. it helpen more of the teammates also if it had intimidate. I've experimented with Expert Belt as item for extra damage because you need bulk. Its a difficult Pokémon to pivot in my opinion without Itimidate. Sadly enough :(
I also whished Rock Head was more viable.
Off the top of my head, Haxorus is a dragon I really like.
Rillaboom would have needed 124 Speed (148 Speed EVs) to out-speed this Choice Scarf Salamence in Tailwind. Are Rillaboom typically that fast?
I only scrolled through, but I didn’t see a Rillaboom outspeed outside of Fake Out, which has priority. I might’ve missed it though.
Typically, at least last I heard, Rillabooms at one point we’re aiming for low speed to try and make sure Grassy Terrain goes up if sent out at the same time as Indeedee

QOTD: At first I thought I'd say Kommo-O because of how versatile it is, but being a contrarian now that Kommo-O is famous, obviously I can't just say I like something that's popular. Even if I like the big guy.
So, I say Haxorus, because it has such a weird move pool and I've mentioned it a few times in previous videos but back in Series 1, I enjoyed running Haxorus next to a water type back when Bulk Up Ceruledge was running rampant to make them tera grass to avoid getting one-shot, only for me to do Tera Bug Haxorus and first impression the Ceruledge into atoms.
With Life Orb, if I recall the calc correctly then they would have to be 252 health, 252 defense with an intimidate on the Haxorus to survive the first impression.
Given nobody else was doing that stuff to my knowledge, that was my own bit of personal tech and this was the first time I was playing VGC outside of a few battles in SwSh's final series so I've been a little proud of that since. Is it a good play? No, obviously not. But it was *my* play and it worked fantastically against what was normally a really rough matchup for my team.
