For having seen this band perform, I can say that hearing these songs live is just like hearing the songs exactly as as you know them, but for the first time ever. Martin Hannett was a genius and what he did with JD's songs is beyond reproach, however, the songs were always written to be heard live, as true punk songs, and this band's live gig is the best way to experience that.
Thank you Nicholas. That is such a beautiful compliment. And you are so right about the astonishing job Martin Hannet did on the tracks. That’s what made JD famous in the first place, I guess. But having played those songs for several years now made me also realize how lucky he was to have that band in his studio!
Will see them shortly live in Paard, The Hague. Can't wait!
Masterpiece, Especially the Drumming in transmission and Vocals are superb
Saw them last Friday. I was _very_ sceptical at first but it was simply amazing. Like stepping into an alternate reality in which Curtis didn't die... It was a great experience, this video doesn't even do it justice.

It's pantomime Joy Division . . . . drumming is horrendous.
Wouldn't go that far, but this guy definitely is no Stephen Morris. I miss that edge, that sharpness and fury.
