Hey Bill, you have a great looking railroad there. I am an ex BR man in the UK. I was a shunter(conductor). My job was getting in between. Loved it, best job i had. However, I find the very slow running of American railyards quite tedious. We had class 08 shunting (switchers) engines. They are 0-6-0, 850 hp diesels with a max of 15 mph. Proverbially we said they could pull a house down. Obvously we were slow when attaching or easing away from other vehicles, but if we had a run we made good use of that 15 mph. Just an observation, not criticism. 👍👍👍 🇬🇧
Thanks Robert! Always great to hear from a real railroader. My prototype railroad has speed restrictions due to track age and conditions, so I tend to take it pretty slow 🐢Thanks again for the first-hand info from the UK. Take care - Bill.
@@MyFingerLakesRailwayLayout Ahh, I'll let you off then. 🤣. Actually I watch three shortline channels as well, so I'm used to seeing such things. 👍👍
@@robertbate5790 I'm always surprised at the difference between US railroading and the rest of the world.
@@MyFingerLakesRailwayLayout I'm sure. Our 'heavy trains' wouldn't even make you switchers sweat, lol 🤣. I must be honest though I am amazed at how quite your massive locos are compared to some of ours.
Great looking layout. Love operations. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks John, glad you liked it! The more I detail the layout, the more fun it is to operate. Take care - Bill
Looks great! Just the right amount of detail. The weathering on the rolling stock is particularly impressive.
Thanks Breor! I used photos from the prototype railroad, it was a lot of work but well worth it to have one-of-a-kind cars. I've got a few weathering videos that show the process. Thanks for commenting! Bill.
Hi. Very entertaining. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks John, glad you liked it!
Layout is looking very nice with lots of details all the time. The loco sounds really good with the scale sound speaker enclosure!
Thanks Tom!
Stunning modelling and great looking trains. They sound good to me!
Thanks Leo! I appreciate it! Take care - Bill.
Like seeing your layout in these operations.. it looks great..
Thanks Pappy, the more I detail it, the more fun it is to run it. Take care - Bill. PS I sent you something in the snailmail the other day.
@@MyFingerLakesRailwayLayout oh awesome thank you Bill, I'll keep my eye out for it and let ya know..
👍🤠👍
Thanks for watching, Rock Island Randy!
Leon has a lot of HO responsibility 🤣 great job on the video, very interesting run, Cheers Rob
Thanks Rob! Yeah, Leon wears a lot of hats. Whether cutting brush with a chainsaw, or welding old rolling stock - He's the backbone that keeps this railroad running. Cheers - Bill
Hi
Hi Daren!
Good stuff as always Bill!👍
I love seeing (and hearing) 1995 on point - is she an Atlas with a keep-alive? Flawlessly slow running!!!😎👍
Thanks Openeyes! Both locos are Rapido B36-7'S. I've downloaded B23-7 sound files, cause that's what the prototype runs. I don't think they have keep-alives. But I always run them in a consist (again, following the prototype.) Both locos are always pulling. So if one hits a spot of dirty track and stutters, the other one is still picking up good power. Thanks for commenting - Bill.

Aaaah yes it's coming back to me, you did tell me this before - guess my memory's slipping...
What brand and code rail of track are you using? It looks really good.
Thanks Allen! It's all code 70 Micro Engineering. The main is on cork roadbed. At the industries, the track sits on the plywood sub roadbed. All I did was weather the ties and rails a little bit. Take care - Bill.
@@MyFingerLakesRailwayLayout Awesome, because that's what I'm planning on doing. It's helpful to see the results up close. Thank you!
@@KandWRailroader cool! I've got a video showing how I scratchbuilt backsaver switch stand handles, using some piano wire and the details that come with the ME turnouts.
@@MyFingerLakesRailwayLayout Could I get a link to that. I'd like to check that out.
