You are actually quite good at telling a story - and then your girlfriend continued with the same quality. Very calm and focused, good to listen to that.
20 years living in Helsinki /Espoo from Washington DC.. Honestly.. I like cold weather clothes.. Parkas, boots, hats etc. Summer.. Ain't really summer without heat and humidity to me at least 😂😂. It's actually annoying when it's too warm cuz of no AC.. And these aptmnts are made to keep heat in. Plus I got kids.. So I don't really have the time to be thinking "it's dark out".. Waaay too busy
I like winter, the darkness, the snow and even cold. Too warm for me at the moment. Just waiting for the decent autumn, with colorful trees and crisp mornings! 🍁 Summer is fine, but this year it’s just been too long. 😆 Nice video!
For me winter is time to slow down in life in general. A little respite and time to give more time to myself and my other hobbies. There is more or less only one thing I don't like about winter and it's ice. Walking down the roads to work when all the sidewalks are nothing but ice and they haven't put the gravel on the road yet to make it a little bit more safe to walk on it. Also very nice to see you being so happy with your gf Chico. Hope for many happy days for you two in the future. :)
The darkness of Winter in the North is it's own splendor. Fall gives us the spectacle of shutting down at the end of the season of growth. The beauty of foliage turning to death and falling to return to the Earth. That nutrient and essence nurturing the ground for the season of cold in expectation of the rebirth of Spring. The sky in Winter in the North is spectacular. Replenishing one's body after being outside is a delight and pleasure unmeasured. Hot cider or cocoa, sitting on the radiator, placing one's hot water bottle at the feet in bed all revivify the body in ways unknown in static climates.
Chico, you need to learn: 1) Sua vain yli kaiken ma rakastan, and also 2) Kalliolle, kukkulalle, rakennan minä majani, as well as 3) Niin minä neitonen sinulle laulan - and then serenade your girlfriend with these wonderful Finnish songs about sincere love. A good winter-project! Would give joy for the rest of your lives!
I'm born on the Arctic Circle and I still struggle with the darkness 😅 Now I get to divide my time between Hki and Lapland, so I also get to enjoy the late winter in here when days are longer than in the south but there's still snow. It's absolutely amazing. But December is extremely difficult. If I come here around Christmas, I'll be longing for sunlight in a week's time - even the little we have in the south during winter.
i am not bothered by cold or darkness, i love autumn. well i am a Finn after all, but i think that many Finns suffer same things that you do during dark times and winter.
Your videos are really nice, but this one made me restless: you still don't get it, but your well-being depends on it - expectations and actions are out of sync in your views. One cannot do summer-things in the middle of the winter. On cannot do winter-things in the middle of the summer. OK? 😁 For many Finns the months of December, January, February are very active and busy months. Perhaps the most fulfilling. Why not for you? Especially in Helsinki, you have so much opportunities, that you don't even need to organize everything yourself. But Finland is the country where you have year-around opportunities to organize what you want to have in your life. If you feel sluggish in the dark season there are many tips - here are some, look to it that you every day get out-side into a spot with a wide horizon at 10 am, every day, look around and take a walk for 30 min. Log the weather, the light, the temperature, the colors in a notebook. Get home, have a cozy "tauko" (fika in Swedish), drink something warm (e.g. glögi) and for fun try to diversify it. Read a poem, or sing song, or dance for 15 min. Learn something new. Plan the next 7-10 days. Do you want to do sports, do you want to study, do you want to volunteer, do you want to learn crafts, do you want to socialize, do you want to laugh, do you want to indulge in your hobbies, do you want to change the world, do you want to earn more, do you want more sex, what ever you want, the perfect time to do it, is in the season from equinox to equinox, September to March. Don't fall into learned helplessness. Fight that with great sisu! You can fill your life with positive things any month of the year. Start with celebrating every equinox as a day for more equality all over the globe. Imagine! You can take charge of your life in Finland, it is a good country for that, because people expect you to do it, and people trust you to be capable of doing it. To be active is not weird in Finland, Finns do it all the time. Take your sweet girl, write each 10 post-its with things you always have wanted to do, put them in a bowl and commit to do whatever random note comes up, one by one. Play more! Repeat! You can do it. Just do it.
Beautiful video essay. Such positive vibes. Thank you 🤗

There's no problem if you don't make it a problem.
You’re not wrong 😂
@@ChicoMuya There's an entire continent, that's way warmer. Would probably feel more at home there :)

Remember to eat lots of vitamin D in winter! It's a game changer for your mood.
How great to see that a woman has appeared in your life 😊👍🙏
i'm just wondering if she is gonna force him to buy curtains.....
@@nappiotsaanLol 😂 Yes. Yes she is

Your first winter is me every year 😂
I do quite like the cold but the darkness and especially the grey sky are horrendous.
I’m with you there 😂
I wonder why you don't like the winter coats! I love my winter coat. ❤
❤
If we all hope strong enough, winter will not come. As we can see from the weather now, reminds me of July.
Let’s test out your theory 😂🤝
I saw öödi for a second there
You can see Kallion kirkko in your window. I live on the lanes also. I think about 400m away.
Winter is brutal in Finland. Winter lasts so long. At first it looks good, then it drags...after 3 or 4 months. Wishing for it to melt.

End? This is just a beginning 🤗
