Give me a steel ferrule every time. I've seen brass ferrules become loose or mis-shaped when a bit of excessive force is used. Steel copes better with the force sometimes used on chisels. Good post, thank you 👍
Thanks for the comment. I agree with you, brass is easily deformed and with the pressure imposed by the chisel tang being forced into the handle there can still be movement resulting in instability.
