My dad has a HUGE outside dog and tonight in Texas it reached low 30s (still dropping)....
I sneaked him inside was able to shower him dry him without him barking and being 100% compliant.
A complete miracle!!!!
I currently have him inside my room and he is all warm and cozy. 💕💕
I got in the shower with him and fully clothed And got wet first to show him that it was safe. Never had indoor pets and I felt like a little girl showering a dog for the first time. I prepared and bought dog shampoos aswell.
He is currently asleep and honestly I feel like I just conquered a mission impossible.
Your dad is not a good animal caretaker if he keeps them outside. Don’t get an animal if you can take care of it properly

@@lolathebunny6735 dogs can stay outside. We dont even know what type of dog it is, it may have a thick coat. Dogs can live outside though. I don't keep my dog outside but they can live outside. You can't say he isn't a good pet owner just because he keeps it outside lol

I mean not every breed is the same. but most breeds are actually wonderful outside dogs they dont mind it at all. my 1 year old cane corso can either be inside or outside (doggy door) and she stays outside most of the time. plus ill prolly never get robbed cuz yk 110lb dog.

Make sure the peanut butter you're using is safe for your pupper.
Some brands these days can be harmful as chocolate.
My doggy doesn’t care what you put in the tub peanut butter,treats etc he hates it smh

@@korvusmangata9007 I'm also late, but just in case it helps anyone: Specifically what you want to avoid is Xylitol! It's a sweetener used in Low Sugar and Sugar Free items. If you're not buying sugar-free peanut butter, you probably don't have to worry BUT it's always good to check!
This is unfortunately even worse than chocolate. I've had a pomeranian eat an entire plate of chocolate chip cookies (an accident, my brother left the plate unattended) and be completely fine. But Xylitol can kill in as little as an hour.
Would love to see a video on Puppy's first bath. How to train them to be calm and accustomed to it. Love all your videos!

My problem is, is getting my 70 pound boxer in the tub. He refuses! My husband tried and he flopped around like a fish out of water so we didn’t force him

You said not to wash your dog too frequently but you didnt say what IS too frequently. I bathe my dog every 2 weeks. I use de-shedding shampoo. It helps tremendously with her shedding and replaced any oils needed for the dogs skin. When I first got her, when rubbing her fur, mounds of fur would come off. Now, after getting on a regular bathing schedule, she hardly sheds at all.
omg that tub would be a god send. my puppers, a 3 yr old dutch shep rescue, is needing a bath once a wk nd spot treatment per the vets instructions. thankful my shower setup isnt too far off from this.

I have a 10 month old Pit. Rescued him from the shelter a little over a month ago. He doesn't seem to like baths, but he allows me to do it without a fuss.

This vid is old but very helpful I’m gonna try it on my AmBull have him near 4 weeks, and is due his monthly shower. We don’t have a actual bath jus a shower stall hope it works as don’t want it to be a bad experience for his first time with us and bathing, wish me luck he’s 23kgs and just gone 10months old so big strong boy,

Ummm....I put on my swimsuit and get in the tub with my dog( Pembroke corgi ) and he plays with a ball toy.

SAME. It’s literally the only way because my dogs hide in one corner of the bath where the hose can’t reach & I’m basically chasing them. My clothes get soaked anyway when I pick them up out the bath (10 second towel dry) because they’re scrambling to get out & get a treat, but they don’t realise they’ll hit the tiles headfirst cuz the bath cannot be scaled up & over on four legs.
Btw it’s not unsanitary we’re not sitting in a tub of water with the dog. The plug is out, the drain is working, I’m standing up & leaning over the entire time (so they are properly cleaned and I don’t have to go through the whole ordeal again anytime soon 😂)
BTW if anyone knows how to get a big dog in and out of a bath without getting covered in water & the floor with water plz lmk. he’s a bit heavy, he’s got a slow metabolism 🥺). I usually put 6-7 bath towels on the floor.

Adopted a big dog when we moved, the previous renters left her behind. I have no idea if they ever bathed her and I have no experience, but she needs it so I'm giving it a go. Thanks for the tips, I'll let you know how it goes 😅

My dog hates the bath even after 3 weeks of boot camp. I’m honestly always afraid that she’ll bite me and nothing works with her. She’s not motivated by food at all either.
Are there triggers that correlate to her biting? Maybe it's a spot you're touching, where the water is spraying, or maybe the loudness of the water?

I've tried the peanutbutter but @2:18 is the moment my German Shepheard would be crying and slowing climbing out...even through she does it slowly she pushes with all her might, its still hard to use one hand to stop her from casually walked out of the tub lol.

I shower my puppy yesterday for the first time and he was way too ansious, wanted to get out of the bathtub and started biting the towel like crazy, it was a nightmare from start to end :(
What about for dogs who don't accept the peanut butter or any other food? My dog tries to climb the tub wall. I get her bathed but it's difficult due to her climbing.

The peanut butter was helpful for one of my dogs but not the other. My lab I played music and sang to her and she stayed pretty calm and relaxed when I sang. I don't know how she was calm I'm not a good singer. Lol thanks for the hacks.
This is the only way I can keep my dog calm too! In the bath and in the car. Hoping my voice should improve at least a bit with all these hours of singing 😄

Rover's dog grooming youtube channel uses a leash system so that dogs don't move too much. The groomer on that channel also waits till the end to wash the dogs head to prevent the dog from shaking. Something about get the dogs head cause the dog to shake.

I wish it was this easy. My pup freaked out and try to jump out. Even with peanut butter I can’t calm her down or keep her still. She had collar on and fought me so hard. My other dog hated bath but he calmed down after a few minutes and let me bath him without having to wrestle

Great tips! My pomeranian gets very anxious when taking a bath. We’ve had problems with grooming places and them treating him bad :( so I decided to bathe him instead.
ive got a 5 month old lab puppy he laughed at the peanut butter, he said no way in hell. I only have a garden hose and kiddie pool and now suddenly( i gave him 2 baths before and he was ok) he runs for the hills. Ok I'm a bit late but here's a few things I can say from experience
I'd suggest you first introduce the puppy to the bathroom without actually bathing them, feed them in the tub, play with them etc. To create positive association, and wait a week after bring them home so puppy starts trusting you well enough to let you shower them without much fuss, also use mild puppy shampoo and avoid wasing the head in the beginning, you can use a puppy wipe or wet cloth, and wash their head after 4 - 5 baths, also bath them less frequently as puppies cuz they can lose their coat health easily rn, hope it helps :)

I, unfortunately have to get into the shower with my dog to bath him. He refuses to get into the bath. He is a fully grown English Mastiff and lies flat on the floor when he sees the bath and there is no way I can lift him. So I convince him into the shower and get inside to shower him and get a shower at the same time. Still wouldn't change him for the world.
