i appreciate showing the real india ..you are a kind person who does not show the bad side of india to get more views .i wish you and your channel a good luck .and i hope you visit india and showcase the real beauty of india .i am livving in netharlands for many years and i hope you get a warm hospitality in india. Thank you, I simply want to show the truth. There's good and bad everywhere and just to focus on one side doesn't give a real image. Sometimes travel in India can be hard, but it's certainly a wonderful country to travel.
Welcome to Lucknow...I live in Kanpur which has the best Samosas and not far away. Visit Anandeshwar temple there in Kanpur if it fits your plan. GODSPEED.
The ruined British Residency is interesting. Thanks for including this. The 1857 Indian Rebellion (British sources may still call it the "Mutiny") marked the end of the Mughals. Wm Dalrymple documents it in detail in his book, The Last Mughal: The Fall of a Dynasty, Delhi, 1857, within the biography of Bahadur Shah Zafar, the last Mughal Emperor - including his sad fate and that of his family. Read that, then visit the Residency again.
@@ChrisKermis Dalrymple lives in Delhi, at least part of the year, and has written several books on the history of India. The White Mughals is a love story about a Muslim princess and a British officer. The Return of the King is about the ill fated 1st British expeditionary force to Afghanistan. Anyone contemplating invading Afghanistan should read it - there was one survivor. I didn't know about the Residency in Lucknow. The street scenes you shot there look a lot like Egypt, which also has a lot of fascinating sites off the beaten track.
I am from this city , it's sad no guide did not entertained you , there is lot of things to observe in bada imambara , which guide would have explained really well..
The assumed prohibition of non Muslims entering mosques is generally about not turning mosques into tourist attractions. There is no doctrinal basis for it, save for the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah.
I respect that. I love to visit mosques when possible and outside of prayer times and have been lucky enough to see the Prophet's Mosque on a recent trip to Saudi - From the outside only of course.

I always wanted to visit Lucknow. It is the birthplace of Urdu and - I had heard - the best place to learn it.
Glad to see my man, Chris is in one piece.
Stay safe, my friend
For sure! Just lazy with editing videos sometimes and traveling too much. The next one will be a hard one, I’ve got so much footage there!
Another fascinating video with amazing views, structures and so much green to be seen. Loved it.

It's absolutely underrated, there's certainly very few tourists that I saw there.
@@ChrisKermis One more reason to go there for a visit 😊

Thank you for the information. There's some very interesting history there that I simply had no idea about before visiting.

@@ChrisKermis Interesting. The Saudis tell non-Mulsims not to enter Madinah but there is no active enforcement of that.
