I think credit cards offer that. You probably know better then me. I just discovered your channel. It is really helping me get through being at home. I thought working from home would be fun but after a while it can be challenging. I only go out to see a my parents who luckily leave across the street. Awesome!! So glad you were able to save money! What you're paying for is not buyer protection, it's called a currency spread. You can actually still use PayPal, but if you do, you need to select the currency options and select Yen to let the card issuer convert the money. I should have made that a littler clearer in the video. I just preferred to use my CC directly since I could. And you are 100% correct, your credit card has buyer protection and from my experience they are more likely to side with you in a dispute than PayPal is. I still use PayPal when I'm buying things from European doll makers, but always select that "currency options" and elect to be charged in Euro, or Pound Sterling, or whatever, because it will be cheaper since it's up to the credit card and not PayPal to do the currency conversion. Hope this clears that up a little!

This is such a good tip. I never even thought about the conversion when paying with Paypal since some doll companies will accept USD. I know that since Fairyland bills me in USD, I pay the exact price I see on the site.
When they bill in USD it's much easier. Another thing I discovered recently is Etsy also builds in a significant FX spread...I found an item on Etsy that was in Euros, but I followed the artist on Instagram and asked if she would just PayPal invoice me. It came out $27 cheaper.

I've been purchasing things with my CSR card instead of PayPal since I saw this video a few weeks ago. I wish I knew this beforehand! FYI, active duty military members can get the annual fee waived upon sign up!
The card is selected, but watch the part where I click the link that says "currency options" , and then they give you the option to actually charge your card in Yen instead of $$. What that does is allows your card to do the conversion instead of PayPal. If you let PayPal do the conversion, they are going to charge your card in USD from the beginning. Hope this makes sense!

Debit generally doesn't have the lower foreign transaction fees like a credit card does, so you'll have to check specifically with your card provider but I would say for the most part no. It would still be cheaper than PayPals FX spread most likely because theirs is very high, but not as good as a CC with no foreign transaction fees.
